Kraig didn't take much into account the fact that Amanda was Kendrick's mate, the problem arose when he decided to leave the pack in order to look for that magical plant, because the future Beta decided to intervene.
"What are you doing here, Kendrick?" he asked in a low voice, frowning and looking around.
"I can not let you go." Kendrick replied, and Kraig deepened the frown between his brows.
"I do not understand. What is your problem, anyway?"
Kendrick took a deep breath before letting it out and giving Kraig a serious look.
"I can't let you separate me from Amanda."
"What?" Kraig asked in disbelief.
"She's my mate, and as much as I've been interested in this Nora girl, man… as you put it, she doesn't exist. And I don't want to risk ruining my relationship with Amanda woven something that's not even a certainty!"
Kraig had to take a few breaths to calm himself down before he could speak again.
