Delina looked at Petrus, and stopped walking, looking at Petrus, astonished.
"What?" She asked. He looked down, feeling embarrassed and she noticed her mistake. "I didn't mean it like that. I mean… how is it possible that nobody has taught you?"
"I am just a guard. I know when to read words of danger and that are of my concern. I tried to learn on my own, but Lord Suindara said it was not necessary."
Delina's mouth twitched in a thin line. 'Suindara!', she cussed him, mentally. That man, mage, whatever, was a pain!
"I'll teach you, if you'd like it." She said.
Petrus widened his eyes at her, but then, he recollected himself.
"Ah, please, you are the Princess. No." He said. "It is not something for you to bother, Your Highness."
"Petrus, enough. I am your friend. Stop calling me like this as if there is a wall between us."
"But there is. I am a commoner. No matter the rank I have inside the army. I am still a commoner. And you, a Princess. No, sorry. A Queen."
