Chapter 23 - Success

"Ma'am, we have secured the first layer of the city, the government has holed themselves up in their compound on the second layer. We are slowly closing in on them as we secure the second layer." The secretary reported to Elen as she lay under the sun on the beach of the second layer in her bikini.

The one-piece bikini was only called one piece due to the fabric that goes down the sexy line on her back. With a lace around her neck connecting to the fabrics that held her breasts in place, connecting to the line down her back goes down into her juicy buttcheeks and wraps around her plump cameltoe before splitting into two to surround her waist.

She pulled down her shades and looked at the secretary in front of her, "It took longer than expected. Have they been slacking off?"

Although her tone was casual and can even be considered friendly, the secretary shivered as she felt a cold chilled swept past her.

"Ma'am, there was a phenomenon that occurs when a large group of people gathers. Mana will be attracted towards the group and monsters have a high chance of spawning when a large amount of mana has gathered." She quickly regained her bearings as she explained.

The rest of the details could be immediately deduced by someone as intelligent as Elen. Although she was married into the family, she had to be something special in order to be the only wife of the current patriarch, and someone who was respected as the matriarch.

It could be said that there will always be a patriarch in the family, however, there may not be a matriarch, and vice versa.

Only clan members, female or male, could be the figure at the head of the clan, but if their partner was not worthy, they will never be recognized as their counterparts.

Elen was recognized as the most outstanding matriarch in the clan's history, and even before she was married into the clan, some of the clan members with lower statuses or abilities have to be wary of her in the outside world.

Marrying into the Blews was akin to giving tiger wings, making her even scarier.

"So, you fear monsters spawning thus you spread yourselves thin? After clearing most of the second layer, leave the government alone for now. Gather the men into a large group and ask them to survive the monster spawns until they are accustomed to it. The wait will also break the composures of the government people."

A single sentence, killing two birds with one stone. Reducing the opponent's morale while increasing their strength. This was child's play for Elen, but could already affect the lives of many.

...

Dacol and Angelia found themselves in a forest. The thing about this forest was that it didn't look real.

"What the hell is this place?" Dacol said as he touched the trunk of a tree that looked like it was from an anime. The texture was smooth and plastic-like.

"This doesn't look like reality to me," Angelia said, confirming the conjectures in their minds.

"A freaking anime world, stuff is getting weirder and weirder." Dacol let out a sigh, he completely shut off his brain, refusing to think anymore.

"Well, let's go, see if we can find anime monsters." Angelia was strangely excited for some reason, her inner weeb barely surfacing only to get suppressed once again.

As they walked into the depths of the forest, which by the way has no insects, they saw a bush shake.

'Here it is, the shaking anime bush that reveals a cute companion!' Angelia screamed in her mind as her eyes glittered in anticipation.

Dacol on the other hand had gripped his weapon tightly, awaiting the attack.

What is it going to be? Stay tuned to find out!

...

Just kidding.

"Kyuuu kyuuu!" An anime fox jumped out from the bushes with an injured leg. The cute anime sounds were music to Angelia's ears while Dacol was thinking of the possibility of being attacked.

Before Dacol could make a decision on whether to initiate a preemptive strike, Angelia swooped in and embraced the fox in her arms.

Fluffy! Anime Saikou!

The snow-white fox struggled for a while in her arms, before settling down feeling powerless.

"There there." Angelia reached into her bag and took out a healing salve sold in the normal shop, applying it to the wound on its leg.

Dacol watched in awe as he witnessed Angelia's gentle expression for the first time. Jealously towards the fox immediately sprouted in his heart like a wildfire.

"Hey, Angelia. Careful it might be dangerous. Fox are wild beasts that eat meat. Especially, one as juicy as yours." His brain was really turned off as he muttered those sentences while staring at the bosom in front of him which was pressed against the fox. Before he realise what he had just said, Angelia answered back.

"Ohhh, are you sure this cutie here is a wild beast and not someone else? Indeed, a wild beast could never sit still when they encounter meat as... juicy... as... thisss." Angelia completed the last part while squeezing her breast, suffocating the fox in the meantime as she puffed her chest towards Dacol.

Just a Dacol was about to reach our for the juicy meat, they both snapped.

"Huh? What did I just say?" Dacol was shocked as he remembered what just happened.

Angelia was also visibly flustered as she couldn't believe she had done something so indecent.

"It's an anime cliche! Girls with big boobs will act lewd while the guys will always think with their other head." Angelia muttered, feeling both scared and shocked. They had underestimated this dungeon!

...

Gran was in a meditative posture, the air around him trembled due to the collision of mana and qi inside his body. May and Sanya had gone out to play, leaving him some alone time to finally fuse the two energies.

If one could see into his body, they would find a strand of qi and mana colliding and entangling each other. Neither wants to lose out to the other.

As much as it pains Gran, he knew that the strand of qi should be sacrificed and used as the material for the new energy. Mana would be the one who consumes the qi and which would then fuel its evolution into the same energy that Sanya had in her body.

It was funny how mana had helped the fusion of the two energy when Sanya was being born, even though the new energy could be said to be a higher form of energy. Luckily mana wasn't sentient or it would not have acted like that.

The qi had finally been surrounded and trapped by the mana strand as it slowly engulfed in whole. Soon, a tiny ball of white qi could be seen enclosed in a ball of blue mana, the ball of white struggled for a while until it finally went silent.

Here comes the last stage.

Gran took in a deep breath as he started the process. Sacrifice one to make a whole.

Little mana needles from the ball slowly seeped into the white qi ball, changing its properties. The white qi ball suddenly flashed with rainbow light as more mana seeped into it.

As what happened during the birth of Sanya had been controlled by mana and happened in an instant, Gran did not see this coming.

However, he did not panic as he felt the strength of the ball of energy slowly increasing. The rainbow light was shining with greater intensity as time goes by as the mana was also being depleted. The qi was totally gone, replaced by the new strand of rainbow light as it was now devouring the mana, using it as fuel this time to assimilate its property within itself.

In the end, both mana and qi were being devoured by this new energy, taking in the best of both worlds.

The rainbow light suddenly stopped shining as all the mana had been thoroughly consumed. The ball of energy had also disappeared, leaving behind nothing.

Gran was surprised at first, then he willed the newly created energy onto his palm, forming a ball.

The only thing was that he actually could not see it! He could feel the existence of the ball but not see it. Then he remembered the rainbow light and understood.

All colors of the rainbow combined to eventually form the colorless light. It was the perfect fusion of the energy ball that was shining a rainbow light just a few seconds ago! Success!

Although, he was still confused about why Sanya's version of the fusion was so different from his. Her's was a deeper shade of blue with rainbow strands appearing and disappearing now and then.

But he quickly pushed that thought out from his mind, the method they use to fuse was different so of course, there would be some differences in the product.

Finally, he had managed to do it. He was one step away from achieving his goal. The formless energy inside his body was like the arrival of a tyrant, the qi and mana inside his body became still as if fearful.

He immediately started on the next strand, with the help of the new energy.

Things should be easier this time.

...

May hed Sanya's hands as they strolled the streets of the second layer. There was not as much destruction as on the first layer because the population on the second layer was much smaller.

Occasionally, a few zombies or monsters would come near the duo, only to be taken out by one of the snakes swimming around them.

A bird with transparent wings that revealed its flesh and nerves flew towards Sanya at a high speed at this moment.

The snake that had just taken care of a random rat monster immediately locked on it, ready to pounce.

However, Sanya looked at the bird curiously and suddenly giggle as she blew out. Her cheeks puffed and her mouth turned into an O shape. All of a sudden, dark blue flames with streaks of rainbow appeared just centimeters away from her lips as they flew towards the bird.

The flame's trajectory was not like a flamethrower, shooting in a straight line, but more of like small leaves, being carried by the wind. The flames sway and floated in an erratic manner as they finally reached the flustered monster bird.

*Sizzle*

The ashes of the bird got carried away by the remaining draft of wind and everything became silent.

"Sanya! How did you do that?" May asked with surprise and a little fear in her eyes. What had they created?!

Sanya tilted her head and giggled, seemingly unaware of how terrifying that last move was.

Suddenly, interrupting the mother-daughter time, a group of 10 appeared to have surrounded them, pointing their weapons at the duo.

"Surrender the little creature and we will let you go." A deep voice sounded out.
