Chapter 35 - Everything from another angle

Samuel's POV:

The cold breeze slowly stroked my cheeks on the open balcony as it took me to the memory which was 5 years old.

As the college ends at its usual time, I was going to meet Uncle Thomas for important work.

I want to ask for a favor from him.

But surprisingly, I bumped into Calla there.

What a surprise!

It's literally 4 years since I have met her this close.

I saw her looking at me with so much love and longing in her eyes that I was again dying because of the guilty feelings.

She does deserve anything that happened to her.

But, What she doesn't realize was the fact that I was too missing her.

I was too imprinting her face in my mind.

I was telling myself that I missed her as a friend.

But even I don't believe it.

When she excused me to give me space to take to Uncle Thomas, It only hurt my heart for hurting sure a pure girl.

It is good that she left because I was going to talk about her with him.

I was going to ask a favor to convince Calla to move on from me.

But it's a great coincidence that he was already going to.

I was extremely grateful.

I was amazed by her natural cute look when she was enjoying her time alone in the wind which was similar to this wind.

I was about to smile before she connected her eyes with me.

I was again spellbound by her magic.

I scolded myself before leaving there without a glance.

My heart begged me to take a look at her behind. Because it's been years.

I have only secretly stolen some glances at her.

Only one look....

But I forcefully thought about Amelia.

That helped me.

When I glanced at the street in front of me from the balcony, People were readily carrying an umbrella in case of rain.

I smiled remembering her Umbrella in my house.

How can I forget it?

I would have guessed it's calla even if it's for million times.

Besides, who would give their umbrella to others while drenching in rain?

Of Course, it's Calla?

I don't see her that day.

But I knew it was Calla.

Because I asked that little boy who it was.

He said it is a girl who is of Amelia's age and wore a purple crop top with a jean.

I remembered what she wore that evening while bumping her in front of Uncle Thomas.

So, it's her….

The next day, I went to ask her about the Umbrella.

But I don't take that Umbrella with me.

I was never going to give her that.

It's a memory of her.

I just want an excuse to take to her.

So, I took that as an opportunity.

But she never admitted it was her.

It was expected because it was Calla.

She never admitted it but I got a chance to witness old Calla again.

I was able to see a piece of a cute Calla.

That made my entire month.

I took a sip from the hot coffee which was heaven in this climate.

But my eyes stooped at a couple who looked like they were arguing.

Again the memory of me and Calla fighting on that afternoon made me smile again.

I was hurt by it that day but now it's a memory of her that I remembered for these 5 years.

You know what in our strange relationship, I was always the evil one and she was the victim.

Even I knew it.

Yes, I have called her ugly, gold digger, home breaker.

I have insulted her in every way possible just to make her move on.

But her love overlooked everything while still upholding her self-respect.

How can someone so perfect exist?

It's Calla.

It was always fun to fight with her.

She would always make our argument worth remembering and cherishing.

The way she cornered me or the way her fingers silenced me by touching my lips or her breathing while whispering harsh words in my ears.

Yes! I cherish each and every one.

That drunk night of mine...…..

was the most painful one in my entire existence.

Because it's the last time I have seen her.

The one to who I was apologizing to was really her.

It was always her.

But I change into something that I was thinking of Amelia to purposely hurt her to move on.

I saw the pain in her eyes.

But nothing.....

Nothing I can do except increase them....

As I wished, she moved out even from the whole city.

I knew It would hurt, but I didn't expect that much pain of longing to just see her face like I did in my entire college.

I began to see her every interview, picture, magazine, portrait, and tv appearance in the hope to reduce that longing.

But the look of emptiness in her eyes crushed my heart to bleed further.

I have pretended not to know her, not identifying her when she finally appeared here.

But only my heart knows how much joy it had to finally see her face to face.

It finally felt home just seeing her face.

My feeling was under control and I was pretending well in playing a bad role in Calla's life until my father messed up everything.

He made my control crumble in a second by fixing a marriage with her.

All my bottled feelings of love, jealousy, longing, and pain started exploding whenever I am near her.

I began behaving like a bipolar person.

Sometimes soft to her, sometimes rude to her.

Moreover, Amelia was slowly crumbling because of this arrangement.

She was hurting too much which she doesn't deserve.

I can't betray her.

I can't destroy our beautiful relationship with my own hands.

I have to reassure her.

Or she will be hurt seeing Calla.

Above everything, Andrew Williams.

That bastard who vowed to destroy my life.

To save Amelia, to protect Amelia is my job.

But, Calla was doing it risking her life.

She thinks that I am believing her lies of acquiring properties in exchange for doing this.

But what she doesn't know is that I was believing her to be a gold digger, a home breaker just because she was too perfect to reject her based on some flaws.

I rejected her and hated her for believing this.

And I am not proud of it.

I will be forever guilty of this.

The moment I saw her wound which she hid just to marry me, I understood the seriousness of our situation.

Calla's life is in danger because of me.

Because of her love for me.

I can't reciprocate her love but I can at least save her life from this danger she willingly involved just because of me.

Maybe I can help her move on too...…

It hurts to even think about it.

For now,

I have to make sure of the safety of Calla.

I have to solve Andrew's problem.

I have to complete this fake marriage successfully without the involvement of my feelings.

I have to assure Amelia because she was becoming depressed by this.

I have to...…I have to...help Calla to move on.

My insides clenched in pain at that particular thought.

Maybe I can spend some time that I can cherish later in this fake marriage without giving her any hope...

Whatever happens, one thing is for sure,

Amelia will be my wife. There is no point in questioning it.

I just have to make everything alright…..i

"Samuel?" The voice which was dipped in honey called me from behind.

I quickly turned around panicking about why he was calling her.

When I turned to look at her who wrapped the warm bed sheet around her body, with hair like a bird's nest with a tired smile on her face, I felt all my resolutions evaporate from my mind before this natural cutie…..

I gulped with one thought in my head,

'How am I going to survive this marriage?'
