"so the first vampire to have been created is not Dracula but a dude called Vitorio?" Ethan had asked Hermes.
"Well yeah. The first 'real' vampire had been Vitorio. Even Dracula had not been the first vampire in literature. Before he was published, there were already exploits of Vitorio going around in almost all cultures. The truth had been mixed in with some lies of course like humans normally do. But before Dracula, there were many others in books. Dracula is just the most famous of them all. Period." Hermes had answered Ethan.
"So this Tartarus guy. Who is he exactly?"
The Protector sighed as the boy asked the big question.
"Tartarus was the ruler of the underworld before our time. By 'before our time' I mean before we Protectors had claimed our authority. Don't ask me what I mean by that. I'll tell you everything when the time is right." Hermes's tone had made it clear the matter was closed so Ethan had refrained from prying.
