Hi, if anyone is still reading this ... I am thankful. This story is for my soul. Hope you'll be here to follow :}
It was early afternoon when she heard screams and chaos down the hall of the big manor she was living in for 12 hours or so.
She heard some boys chatting and Raul's nervous footsteps leaving somewhere.
Somebody was coming her way.
Okay, not her way, but near her apartment.
"Holy crap. It's 5 p.m. already?", she asked herself, peaking barely at her iPhone screen
Of course, Andrea sent messages.
She always did.
But, just to tell her that Ivan has passed his sophomore year even though he was causing a lot of trouble. She knew he will.
She was her family, after all, mischief was in his blood.
Once they meet again, he knew
Andrea will probably be a gift from God compared to what Emily will do to him if he disagrees to live a normal, mundane life as he promised.
He has been yearning and complaining about over a year for Emily to come back and do the Delinking.
And she deliberately said " no" to him, even though she missed him in her life more than she cared to admit.
That is what made her distance herself from calling him or even messaging him. He boycotted of course, but it didn't help him much as she was too far away and Andrea was one hell of a witch, knowing his every step along the way.
All she ever wanted was to give him a chance to grow and to be a mundane teenager. And so he did, but of course that the legacy called to him. Ancestors were never pleased with her decision.
Nobody was.
Even the people from the circle agreed with Andrea that she should do it, it would eliminate danger to them. They would be indestructible as Greta would never know where that "eleventh" part of the circle is. But Emily was too afraid.
Her thoughts were loud and wild. Anxiety was taking the best of her.
But, the sounds in her hallway were louder.
"Crap. Not another wolf winning.", she muttered, knowing she will need eventually to go out and see what has Teddy done now.
It was undoubtedly him.
She didn't know the rest of the pack, but she met him. It was more than enough to conclude that he is a problem as much as he is the alpha.
She put on her home shoes and a jumper, slowly opening the door of the apartment.
In front of her - there was a girl.
With blonde wavy hair and a slim and handsome body, she had her back facing Emily's face.
The girl was mutely staring through the window.
Emily only saw her back, but she already felt her vibe - the girl was distressed, furious.
"Is everything okay?", she asked carefully.
"You don't need to stress about me. My brother already restrained me from my wolf form in another 24h hours.", a girl spoke, still biting her finger while staring through the window indifferently.
"I'm sorry, I don't follow.", Emily was stunned. "What?"
"My brother restrained my powers, why do you sound like you came from another planet?", the girl eventually turned her pretty face to Emily and that's where she saw the apparent - the small nose, big, deep, and blue eyes, and the lips; she was almost an identical copy of her brother, Teddy.
"How is that even possible? It's against the law.", Emily repulsively responded.
"I don't know, Emily, you tell me. You are the witch my brother has chosen for pack emissary.", she was furious. "You tell me.", she pointed her finger at her accusing.
"Hey! Slow down, baby wolf!", Emily was offended. "Whatever you are headed with this accusation, stop it. Now."
"How come that my brother has that kind of trick in his pocket after months of being missing and coming back here with you? Don't fool me! I'm now in custody thanks to you and your herbs and elves!", the girl still thought Emily did this to her. The truth was, Emily didn't even know what kind of magic that girl was talking about, yet practicing her. She only knew it was used to punish wolfs for misbehavior ... in the last century or so.
Teddy was fond of using all the favorite wolf methods from the history books. How old was he again? Not even his grandparents probably knew a witch that would do this willingly. It was offensive and humiliating. But again, so were the chains.
"I haven't been practicing magic in years and I have been held captive here!", she shouted at her. "So don't you dare put your family's issues on me!"
"How can a witch be emissary if not willingly?", the girl still sounds suspicious.
"Probably the same as how a wolf can be formless?. UNWILLING.", she replied, unbuttoning her sweater to show off the bruises. " I have chains if you didn't know.", she showed off the signs of wearing them and the girl widened her eyes in shock.
"I see you girls are starting to get comfortable around here.", Raul entered the hallway, trying to avoid eye contact with the blonde girl.
"I will never be comfortable with this manor and you know it!", the girl hissed at him.
"Oh, yeah, because we all came here for vacation and are having times of our lives here! Will you shut it already?", Emilly frowned her eyebrows in anger.
"You...", the girl started the sentence, but Raul cut her off simply:
"You are both being summoned into the meeting chamber with an alpha. Inner circle only.", he looked at the angry, blonde girl with significance while saying the last part, while Emily just looked pricked.
"You.", he looked at Emily throwing her a blood bag. "I hope it fits your weekly needs since we are not able to get more."
Blondie looked at her shockingly.
"What? I told you I held no hand in your restrain. I'm here for free food.", she waved at her eyes with the bag and then opened it to start drinking nonchalantly while Raul gestured with his hands that it is time to go.
They are going to meet the alpha. The truest version of him.
