"Are you going to hit a drunk girl now?"
He seized Emily's hand and dragged her out.
"Hey where do you think you are going?Come back here.heyyyy!"
The owner cried out.
Daniel's man thrusted a pile of money in his hands and he stopped yelling.
"Who are you?.. Huh? Are you my friend? Yay! I got a friend. Hey, let's play. Let's go there. Come hurry."
Emily grabbed Daniel by his coat and pulled him to a claw machine by the side of a road. "You wait and see, I'll draw out the cutest doll for you."
Emily giggled and put a coin inside the machine. Daniel was grinning at her thinking how cute she was acting.
Emily tried five times and failed. Suddenly she started crying out of disappointment.Tears welled up in her eyes.
A single tear rolled down her cheek.
Daniel was puzzled. He couldn't think of anything to comfort her.
Emily faced Daniel and hugged him tightly.
Daniel's face got red. He didn't know what to do next. So he just stood still.
"You are my friend. Right? Promise me you won't leave me. I only… have you now. My mother left me a few weeks ago and.. my father.. he didn't love me."
Emily spoke in a quavering voice.
Daniel didn't know what to answer her.
He didn't want to say things he didn't mean but he didn't want to make someone sad with his rude reply.
He hesitated a little and finally said,
"I won't."
Emily chuckled looking at his face and asked him to play the game.
"What? Me? But I don't know how to do that… ok fine! I'll try."
It was his first time trying something like that.
They were both laughing, talking, putting the coins again and again and failing every time.
She opened her fist to see the coins.
It was the last coin left.
They both looked at each other.
Emily thrusted the coin into Daniel's hand.
Daniel fed the machine with the last coin.
He really wanted to draw a doll this time.
Emily kept cheering him patting on his back.
The doll was almost up to the exit but…. Droppe.
Emily made a face as long as a fiddle.
"Oops, looks like I'm a total loser but no worries, let's go buy some stuffed toys for you. How's that?"
He tried to make her happy.
Emily gave a wild smile.
"Then I'll buy a large one and I want ice cream too."
Daniel grabbed her hand and walked to his car.
"No! I don't want to sit. I want to walk."
There was no choice.
On the street she spread her arms wide open and ran as if she wanted to take off and fly like some bird.
But when her arms didn't work as wings she became unhappy. She ran back to Daniel and asked him why can't she fly.
Daniel didn't know what to answer.
She shook him and cried,and eventually she seized his arm and asked if he wanted to run.
She dragged him to run with her and all he could do was look at her raw self which was too surprising and unexpected.
There they were, running in the middle of the night holding each other's hand.
One might mistook them for a couple.
And yeah of course they would. They were making it too obvious.
Suddenly Emily stopped.
"What's wrong?"
Daniel asked her breathing heavily.
"I'm hungry!"
Daniel chortled.
"Hey! Did you just laugh at me? What if I'm hungry? What's so funny about it? It's human instinct, you know."
Daniel sighed.
"Yeah! Of course it is. Can you talk less now?"
He said and looked here and there for a place to eat.
"Let's go!"
He said and walked to a nearby hotel.
"Heyyy! Are you going by yourself? What about me?"
Daniel smiled and looked back at her.
She was standing there still.
"What? Do you want me to carry you?"
Emily couldn't hear him because of car honking and ran to him.
Daniel seemed happy with her. But at the same time, he was trying hard to keep himself away from women. And there was a reason.
Daniel ordered beef steaks.
Emily ate like she was starving for days
Daniel didn't touch anything and kept gazing at her.
"What? Is there something on my face?"
Daniel quickly moved his face to the side.
"Nothing! I was just thinking how much resemblance there is between you and a wild animal."
When she finished eating they both went to a toy shop. Emily took over twenty cute stuffed toys.
"Look at that! He looks like you haha!" Emily pointed to a large teddy bear.
"Do you want that one?" he asked. Emily said yes while shaking her head. When they were done shopping, Daniel put these toys in the boot of the car.
They both sat in the car and Emily put her head on Daniel's shoulder. "You're just my friend. Ok?" she mumbled. After a while she passed out.
"SHE IS CRAZY!"
He said and drove.
Daniel's uncle owned a number of hotels in the city.
He drove to one of their hotels.
When he reached there and applied brakes.
He put his arm around her waist and around her legs and in an instant picked her up.
The girl gasped when she realized that she was now in the air and her legs were no longer touching the ground. Her hands unconsciously went and got wrapped around Daniel's neck.
Carrying her, he got into the hotel.
It was a magnificent hotel. The hotel was a modern, elegant 4-star hotel overlooking the sea, perfect for a romantic, charming vacation. The rooms of the hotel were all new,well-lit and inviting.There was a huge swimming pool on the left side of the gate. Daniel asked a worker to unlock a room for him. He went in and made Emily lie on the bed. He put a blanket on her and sat beside her.
A few men came with stuffed toys in their hands.
"Over there."
He ordered them pointing out to the corner of the room.
After a while he called a maid and told her to take care of Emily and when she wakes up, prepare breakfast for her. After saying that he went out.
Emily was in a deep sleep.
