Magus was waiting inside the military department's huge room and he was with his friends. They had just finished their training and were planning to take the rest of the break.
His friend, Cairus, was busy cleaning his mecha. He had curly coffee brown hair and mesmerizing green eyes. He was 186 cm, 2 cm shorter than Maddox. He was lean but his muscles were toned and strong. This man was the grandson of Marshall Hanson of the 3rd army and was the same age as him. In the academy the moment you reach the college course there will be no distinction of what year level you have (ex. 1st year, 2nd, etc.)
The only thing you need to do was finished the prerequisite subject and training that would sometimes take 4 years and more. So even if Cairus enrolled 2 years later, it didn't stop them from being classmates, since they just need to take the same class.
Note: Magus had jumped 2 years from high school and started college at 16.
"what is happening in our school" a man with blue long hair tied in a ponytail exclaimed, his striking blue eyes widening after seeing how their junior students suddenly cause such a large commotion fighting visitors. This one was Page quite an anomaly in their group, he was cheerful, liked to make friends, and was a food lover. He disdains nutritional drinks more than anything else.
While Maddox was expressionless and hated using his energy explaining simple things to anyone. Though what he considered as simple was different from what normal people thought of. People avoid teaming up with him because of this reason even if he was top of the class. He preferred drinking nutritional juice more than anything, he had made an oath not to mess around with real food after eating the food his mother made.
Cairus Hanson, on the other hand, was mean and had a foul mouth, his face may look angelic and soft just like his grandfather, he however didn't inherit his calm and kindhearted personality. He was a man driven by stimulus and always had a bone to pick with everyone. For him real food and nutritional drink were the same, both didn't taste good, but the drinks had more nutrients so he'll choose this.
"Page Swiss you better make sure that this news is important for you to disturb my sleep" the man beside him questioned, his thick brows knitted from anger. Sleepiness was pasted on his face, Maverick's turquoise eyes glared at him, and his orange hair didn't mess too much because it was silky straight. Page mouthed sorry.
Maverick Green was a lazy guy and the thing he love the most was sleeping. He once beat a guy who wanted to challenge him for a fight because people thought he was the weakest in their group. They couldn't be blamed for it, Maverick rarely showcase his talents, coupled with his soft eyes that were barely open and his lazy demeanor, the image he had portrayed in everyone was 'weakling'. Too bad for him, he just had to disturb him during his sleep. He likes nutritional drinks since it's easier to consume.
"well the school had a game program for the students..... wait let me finish" Page explained and immediately run behind Magus when he notice Maverick was about to hit him.
"OK, so the student council announced a game for whoever took a photo with this immortal can win an infuser..... Wait, I told you to let me finish" this time it was Cairus who threw a bolt at him. He was taking too long to explain.
"it's not like you can't afford an infuser" Magus commented. He thought it was silly to call someone immortal. Even the student joined in just for an infuser, it was ridiculous.
"it's because you're not letting me finish, the infuser was made by Dr. Maddox ok..... It's not like we can easily get one from him, it's even our own choice of weapon" the moment he said that the three immediately stop what they were doing.
"Dr. Maddox was on it too?" the lazy Maverick was now fully awake. Even a lazy man like him knew how important Maddox was.
"yeah he is, he had to confirm it himself OK," he said and show them the evidence. The verified sign showed that this was Maddox's account.
"Why would Dr. Maddox agree to it," Cairus said and checked his terminal. The starnet was filled with this news about it.
"heck, it's indeed true"
Magus didn't say anything but he himself was now interested in this ridiculous game. No scratch that, this wasn't ridiculous.
"welp....I'm joining," Page said and went to the star network to ask the comments on what he should do. However, his comments garnered hate.
Because his account was verified because he was famous and had many followers they easily saw his comment. Instead of feeling happy they felt sad and angry.
"you guys can easily get one from the military"
"Page, I love you but this thing rarely happens"
"no how can the Seniors join, they already have connections with big bosses in the industry, surely they can ask someone to contact Dr. Maddox"
Various comments rained down on his comments and for the first time in his life, he had received such treatment from everyone.
"I have never felt this hated," he said. He wanted to say that even with their connections, they can't easily get a hold of Maddox. Maverick himself whose brother had a high rank in the 2nd army couldn't just ask another one to give to his brother.
The college course didn't know about the activities because they had used all morning to train for the last time. When they had finished, the first thing a teenager would do was check their social and that comment from Page was the first thing they had seen.
As for Cairus, with his attitude, had already bombarded the comments. His grandfather would probably have a heart attack if he knew how his only grandson was acting.
Seeing how their juniors were condemning them for no apparent reason, they couldn't help but get infuriated. They demanded the student council to let them join. Anyway, it's not like they are afraid of these little chicks.
Magus wasn't bothered by this commotion, he checked the image of the 'immortal' and for some reason, he thinks the boy was familiar. But he just couldn't point out their similarities. Maybe the mask, but he knew that Seven wouldn't change it since it concerned his spiritual energy. But why would Dr. Maddox agree to this?
"Should I contact him" but then again, Seven wouldn't probably like staying in crowded places. He disregard this idea and waited for the student council's decision. They are still students albeit higher and the student council was composed of a high schoolers, they were still in contact with the board directors. But he was sure that the decision would be inclined in their favor.
The said student council just wanted to quit, why did they have to make it so difficult for them. The president named Clinton took a deep breath and posted on the official accounts. The college course wasn't someone they could deal with, and the game was meant for students in the beginning, so if they were to exclude them who knows what the consequences would be.
"The game was first meant for the students and so we cannot stop them from joining, however, since they are seniors and would most likely win the game, they will be given another condition that needed to be fulfilled. This restriction was given by Dr. Maddox himself in order to not induce fights between students. The mission will be much harder and they will be the only ones who'll be able to read this."
The senior's read the message and was dumbfounded, "I will be giving you coordinates of places that the boy can't enter, these coordinates would change based on my mood. You can't use force or threats, hurting him is the same as angering me. If you do this mission click this button for confirmation. Your confirmation would allow you to fulfill one of the conditions and receive a certified ticket for the mecha configuration. Without obtaining the photo this ticket will be void". They didn't know how to do this mission at all but no matter how hard it was they were willing to do this.
They didn't even care about the infuser anymore. Maddox's Mecha configuration was similar to the infuser but this configuration can only be applied to a mecha. He had realized that mecha takes up to much energy and would not benefit the soldiers during the war so he changed codes and made a new one.
The perfect example of it was in Marshall Wimbroase, everyone thought that his flaming Mecha was an infuser but only those from the college and high ranking figures knew that this one was different. This kind of configuration needed a system that would allow to configure the abilities of the rider, copy this sequence and embed this to the mecha. The system would copy the ability and take energy from the external force the only thing the owner of the mecha will do was to fuel it for the first time, the rest can be left with the system. Since the body wouldn't be exhausted from fueling the mecha, the fighting power doubled.
Even if some of them weren't from the military department and the mecha they used had no use for this, they can always give it to some family members.
The president didn't know why Dr. Maddox had set these restrictions. But he had his doubts, the immortal seemed to be his son. Of course, he didn't say it out loud and just did his job. All they need to do was follow up and they will each get their tickets.
Maddox wasn't planning anything at first, but then he saw that the immortal they were talking about was Seven. It just so happened that one of the collaborators and judges for the upcoming practical exam was Eros. The appointed judge couldn't come. Now he was suggesting that they should look at the campus. Of course, these oldies would agree.
He didn't want Seven to see Eros this early because seeing him was the same as remembering his past, however, he couldn't force himself to stop the child from enjoying normal campus life. He had suffered so much already. He talked to Cross and he suggested using the soldiers, that idea was rejected immediately. Seven's senses were high and soldiers emit a stronger aura. He would notice something was wrong. So students were the best choice.
Magus who read the message was shocked and said "seemed like it was that kid" guess he'll have to join in the fun.
