The Sun shines brightly on a delicate face of a boy, his lashes tremble as he slowly opens his eyes. He combs his platinum blonde hair out of his face and rubs his sleepy eyes.
He yawns for a bit and adjusts his eyesight. He looked around and noticed that this room wasn't his, this was two times bigger than his own and the floor as far as he could remember where wooden tile gloss with a melted crystalline but now it was all marbled black and gold. The bed he was lying on was so soft that he felt like he was getting sucked inside and was all black, gone where the white sheets.
The walls were gray and had red lines painted on their linings. The curtain where opened which he doesn't normally do. He panics and stood up, the memories he had last night were hazy and they stop at the part where he entered the black hole.
Did he die again? He looked for a mirror and saw that his appearance was still the same, he then channel his energy and felt it was stronger. He comes out in his room looking for his mask and terminal but they weren't there and so he decided to get out of the room. Just when he was about to open the door a man suddenly enter and Seven knew who this was.
"Teacher?" He was confused.
"you're finally awake, thank God. Come, breakfast is already served, I know you're confused right now but will explain it later" he explained and drag him out of the room. They walk towards a hall that looks luxurious and elegant, the paintings hanging on the wall were framed with expensive metals.
They went downstairs using an elevator made out of glass so Seven could see the glamorous interior design of the house. The moment they reach the first floor seven saw a familiar instrument displayed in the middle of the room.
"Teacher, where are we" he was fascinated by the beautiful grand piano, the exterior shell frame and the top board was made out of a clear transparent crystal making it possible to see its inside. The bass and treble strings and other parts of it were made out of gold or obsidian.
If the gorgeous piano was just out there as decoration it would be such a waste not to use it.
"you seem interested in this grand piano, do you know how to play it?" He asked Seven, at this point he was no longer shocked if he said yes, he had already been surprised so many times that he had become numb.
" yeah!" he wanted to play it even for a bit, it had been a long time since he since last used one, the previous instruments he found in this world had changed a bit and he had a hard time using it. But this grand piano looks exactly the same as his old world, the one Ares use to play. Even the appearance was identical.
"then let's play it later" seeing the happiness in those eyes, Maddox can't help but feel excited. He wondered what kind of sound he would create.
They went to to the dining room and saw Cross setting the table, the food on the table was cooked personally by Cross. He would help Seven cook their meal whenever he had free time, Maddox tried it once but almost burned the house down so he was banned from using the kitchen without them.
They sat down and ate their breakfast, Seven had to say that Marshall Cross had talents for cooking, though he could not dispel all the impurities, the food still tasted great, Maddox even commented that it was better than what the master chef created, all those people don't think much about the taste but determine to rate the food base on its spiritual energy.
After finishing their meal they stay in the living room.
"right Seven, last night did you do something in particular" Cross ask making Seven stop reading the book, he totally forgot about it after seeing the grand piano.
He gulped for a bit and was about to tell a lie but all his plan was shattered when he heard this. "don't even think about lying young man"
Seven has this special habit that he would do whenever he tells a lie, normally it wouldn't be easy for people to know however Maddox and Cross have been with him for the past years and had noticed this making it easier for them to understand his actions.
Just like right now, Seven's eyes would not blink and would stare at you completely as if saying that he wasn't lying and he can even look at them straight face.
"I... Umh..." he hesitated and look at the two. He tried to act pitifully in order to get away with it, normally this would have worked but the two can't disregard such event if his safety was involved.
" you won't able to play the piano" Maddox threatened and guess it was effective seeing how he admitted it without a second thought.
"I entered the black hole" he stated rapidly that if you weren't listening properly you wouldn't be able to understand.
" you what!!" their loud shout echoed throughout the whole house, the expression on their face was shocked, then angry and concerned.
Maddox who was the closest to him pinch his cheeks, Seven could only say ouch.
"you brat you actually did something so dangerous, what would have happened if you get stuck there, did you even think of what we would feel" he let go of Seven's face and rub his temples. He was so scared last night thinking about what would happen to Seven.
Seven saw tears fall down his eyes, he covered his eyes and only his soft whimper could be heard. He felt a fang on his chest, he didn't want to make them feel this way.
Maddox stand up and run out living the two alone, he was about to follow when Cross stop him.
"let me talk to him for a bit, he might not be able to communicate with you in his state" he said and Seven could only nod his head. He had his head down, as he wait for the two to come back, probably. However, Cross who he thought had left touch his head lightly. His hands were warm and assuring. Seven had never experienced this before not even to Ares who he holds dearly in his heart.
"I know we couldn't stop you from doing the things you wanted, we're not your parents nor do we share any blood connections, but you could have told us what you were planning, and will gladly help you. Seven we have been with you for so many, you might not think of us as your parents but for us, you're already our son and we would be devastated seeing you get injured, I hope you can understand this" Cross admitted, they were always avoiding this topic because Seven never likes the idea of being adopted. For him, everyone had ulterior motives when they approached his safe zone.
"Seven if we asked you to be our son would you agree" Seven's eyes widen, he did not know what to say.
"I... I don't know..." he no longer continue
" It's fine, take your time, just remember that will always be here even if you don't accept it"
He said goodbye to Seven after reminding him to eat his lunch and went to look for Maddox.
Seven had always tried to be independent, he wanted to grow up fast, he didn't want to owe anyone and be attached to them because if he did, he wouldn't be able to take it if they would leave one day just like how Ares who didn't even say goodbye.
He might have thought that his walls had fallen down for them, but it was still there, even stronger than what it used to be. He was keeping the two at arms length. Not too close and not too far.
He looked around and call for a smart robot to hand him his terminal. He looked at the contact name written on the, he didn't think that one day he would send this man a message. That very person was Magus, he didn't have any friends to contact and most people he knew were from the military.
He went back to his room and looked at his terminal, he was having second thoughts about whether he should talk to him or not. In the end, he close his terminal and didn't continue.
He had wanted to ask Magus, what family is. He didn't know how he should feel towards this question, he never had anyone to call a father or a mother in his life, even in his second life, his mom died after bringing him into this world. He never felt a familial bond with his aunt either.
So when Cross told him he wanted to adopt him, he couldn't say anything in return. He did feel happy being with them but he wasn't sure when this will last.
He wishes Ares was here, if he did he would have known what to do. He sigh and rolled around the bed. He had trouble expressing his feelings, and he might not be able to convey them properly if he were to talk to Cross and Maddox.
He stops moving and just looks at the ceiling. Minutes had passed and he was feeling lethargic. Could no longer hold back he close his eyes and fell asleep.
