Riley POV
An explosion went off at the far end of the campus, which was followed by a large plume of black smoke. Murmurs of panic echoed across the courtyard from Amedis’s followers. A third of them went off in the direction of the chaos to investigate.
The distraction team had done its job. Now they had to keep those followers busy. I had brewed up stasis potions for the werewolves. It would allow them to freeze enemies, which would make it easier due to being outnumbered.
The full moon was reaching its apex, and Jam and I readied ourselves to cast the barrier spell once Amedis emerged. His followers had all dressed in heavy robes with hoods covering almost the entire face, so we had disguised ourselves as one of them and hid in the crowd.
