I looked to Bella and Oscar as they sat with bewildered expressions on their faces. Oscar shook his head then cleared his throat.
"Let me get this straight… Lisa Brice is the Alpha's girlfriend. Although she's been with him for nearly seven months, she hasn't moved into the pack, nor have they marked each other." He tickled Maggy and she grabbed his fingers. He looked to Bella then Dean. "I'll wager you two will be marked up by the end of the week." Dean blushed as Bella grabbed his thy.
"He almost marked me last night." Mathew chuckled.
"I know that feeling… which is why I don't understand why they haven't even marked each other. Unless the screwed-up mate bond has something to do with it." Jenny nodded and looked to Lilly as she scribbled with colouring pens on a large sheet of paper.
"Maggy's mother, Jessica, was murdered... and Emily is still missing. Any luck finding her?" She looked to me as I shook my head.
"Not yet. The Police have run all the information through their systems and have only found the missing persons report. Rodger has got some of his contacts working on it and…" I remembered the events outside the steakhouse. "He hit a nerve as we were threatened by three werewolves not from this area." Mathew looked up sharply.
"What?" I sighed and told them what happened after we left the steak house.
"My gut is telling me that Jessica and Emily are connected, I just don't know how yet." Oscar nodded.
"I can guess… someone is after Derick. Taking out his girlfriends and pups to make space for someone to come after him." I pulled out my phone and messaged Rodger.
"I'll find out where he is and if he has found out anything." Jenny frowned.
"He's missing?" I nodded and Bella chuckled.
"He does that from time to time. I'd only get worried about it if he doesn't turn up after a few days." She bit into a pie. "So Lisa is terrible for the pack?" Jenny sighed.
"Understatement there. Lisa is a complete disaster for the pack because when she's here she starts fights with females that get too close to the alpha, and now it appears she melts his brain when she's around." Jenny nodded and Oscar continued.
"And she's apparently a Uni student, but isn't, and Derick has found another that gives him mate bond feelings?" He glared at Dean as Mathew nodded.
"Yep, the whole thing is screwed up." Oscar nodded.
"Yeah… particularly the part when you mentioned that she doesn't stay long with her mate and no one knows which pack she's from." Mathew sighed.
"I was hoping you might be able to tell." Oscar frowned.
"Me?" Mathew nodded.
"You've lived in the city all your life and have smelt a lot of Packs and rogues. I was hoping that her scent might trigger your memory." Oscar shrugged.
"I do sniff around a lot." He grinned. "But I didn't get much when we met outside Mama's. If I can get close to her again I will concentrate harder on her scent." Mathew winced.
"That will be a problem. Getting close to her means Derick will react. Like I said his wolf is completely head over heels when she's around and is Obsessed with her. You might not get close to her." Oscar nodded and sucked at his lower lip.
"There's training at three right?" Jenny nodded. "Does the Alpha need to attend?" Mathew smirked.
"He should… and Lisa too." Oscar grinned.
"I go to the training as your guest. You introduce me to the Alpha, formally, and his mate and I sniff about see what a pack is really made of." Jenny sighed.
"Only Derick will spar with Lisa because he doesn't want anyone to hurt her." Oscar smirked.
"If I fight Derick… You could steal her towel or something." He grinned. "I keep him busy, and you get her scent for me." Mathew looked at him like he had just volunteered for a suicide mission.
"You… want… to fight an Alpha?" He waved a hand around. "No one wants to fight the Alpha because he can pummel you into the ground." Oscar grinned.
"I fight Nishka. She's slammed me through more than a few concrete walls." Mathew's jaw dropped slightly.
"Why would she do that?" Oscar shrugged.
"I piss her off with my smart mouth." Jenny nodded.
"That I can believe." Oscar pouted.
"Come on mama I'm not that bad?" I heard Mathew growl and Jenny blushed.
"How…" She began and Oscar grinned.
"I can smell." He tapped his nose. "This nose knows." He looked to Mathew. "I'm surprised that you needed to be told." I rubbed my face.
"Oscar, stop it" He looked around. "You need to keep your head on your shoulders if you're going to spar with Derick." He smirked and nodded.
"Oh yeah." He grabbed his phone and nodded "You need to make sure he turns up for training." Mathew nodded then glanced to Dean.
"Speaking of training…" We saw Dean shift uncomfortably. "Someone missed theirs." Dean sighed.
"I didn't mean to…" Mathew nodded.
"I know. Mate bond…" He shook his head. "But you'll need to come with me to training at three. With the two of us there With Oscar they're more likely to believe me." Oscar nodded.
"Jenny can also vouch for me too. I'm like her brother-in-law…" Jenny through the plastic cup at his head and it bounced off and into the air.
"Hang on…" They all turned to look at me. "What was wrong with the sniff you got of her outside Mama's?" Oscar nodded.
"I wasn't really paying attention to her. The vampire she was with… stunk the place out." Mathew frowned.
"She hangs around with Vampires?" Oscar nodded.
"Apparently they go to Uni together." He smirked. "Need to figure out what they do instead of Uni." Mathew nodded.
"It's not common for vampires and werewolves to hang around but it isn't unheard of." I nodded.
"Even among the watch dogs there are a few vampire." Oscar nodded.
"Yeah, but they keep the piece in the vamp sections. There's really only a few that'll come out and actually interact with the rest of us." I nodded and a thought crossed my mind.
"Could you ask about the vampire from the other watchdogs?" Oscar nodded and flicked out his phone.
