Chapter 94 - Chapter 94

Danica's POV

I woke, I was on the treatment table in the medical room, I was alone with Bella as she washed the dirt from my hair. I frowned. My mask was gone, replaced by a thin cloth draped over the lower part of my face.

"Where did the others go?" she looked up.

"I didn't realize you had woken up." She sighed. "They left a while ago. You seem to be healing really well and there wasn't anything they can do for you now." I nodded and winced I was feeling stiff and someone had lowered the back of the gurney.

Bella came to the side of the gurney and lowered me down another click. I winced and gave her a look. She smiled apologetically then raised the cloth she had placed on my face.

"Sorry but I need to take a look at your face." She pulled the cloth away and nodded. "You have some bruising…" She put the water over my head and let down my hair.

After she had finished washing me, she gave me a bag. I saw the silk threads still on it and looked up. Enoch was in spider form looking down from the air vent his eyes seemingly fixed on the door, but since they were completely black like beads it was hard to tell. Bella caught where I was looking and nodded.

"Rodger asked him to make sure no one tries anything…" I nodded.

"Where is Rodger?" She sighed.

"Gone with Oscar to kick some ass. They're out for blood." I nodded and looked to my phone as it beeped in my bag. Bella smirked and handed it over. I winced as moving my head was out of the question then slowly sent a text. "Who're you texting?" I smirked.

"Dean. He's sent me nearly thirty messages." She nodded.

"Yeah, Rodger told me how you had three of them on the go. Do you plan to mark him too?" I gave her a look that made her giggle as she pulled away the towels keeping me warm and helping me into my clothes. "Just saying, I would if I could."

"Oh I have no doubt about that." We giggled then stopped as my stomach rumbled loudly. Bella nodded and poked me with a releaved sigh.

"Typical werewolf, I'll get something for you." She waved Enoch down and he slipped into the room. "Help Danica finish dressing. I'll go get food." He transformed back into a man and Bella gave him the once over, of course after a transformation he was naked. He looked down at me on the gurney. I was dressed from the waist down and only had a towel over my chest. He pulled my bra from the bag and looked at it with a confused expression as Bella left. He turned it over in his hands a few times then sniffed at it.

"What is this thing?" I smirked.

"It's to hold…" I motioned at my chest with my good arm and he dropped the bra to the floor with a slightly shocked expression.

"They don't stay in place on their own?" I grinned.

"It would be awesome if they did, but once you get to a certain size you really need something to stop them giving you a black eye." A look of confusion clouded his face as he shuddered.

"So dangerous… Is that how women kill after sex?" I frowned.

"Not all women eat their partners after sex." He seemed skeptical and grabbed my bra again then glared at the tangled straps. I sighed. "I don't need to wear it. Just hand me the T-shirt." He frowned as he pulled the t-shirt out.

"But won't you get a black eye?" I laughed then winced as I slowly pulled the last towel away.

"I won't be doing anything physical for a while so no danger there." I struggled to sit up but with a little help I managed it. Moving my arms into the t-shirt was a completely different obstacle.

After a while of struggling Enoch pulled the t-shirt away. I frowned but couldn't do anything about it. Gently he moved my hands out and wrapped his arms around me. I felt something slightly cool touch my skin and looked down to see him weaving a top around my chest. I had to bite my split lip to stop from laughing. He looked so comical and terrified every time he came close to my breasts, like he was worried they'd attack.

"They won't suddenly attack." He narrowed his eyes as he continued to work weaving his threads around me. With a start he stood up and nodded.

"Much easier…" he stepped back and looked at his work. I smirked as I could feel the wrapping holding me in place a little tighter than I would like, but it was not too bad.

Enoch looked around as he sat in the corner and continued his watch on the door. I smirked but began to feel sleepy. Twisting stiffly on the gurney I could not get comfortable and sat up.

"Dam… Is there anyone in the waiting room or Rodger's office?" Enoch shrugged.

"Rodger's office is locked up now." I nodded slowly.

"Can we go there? I can't sleep on this thing anymore." Enoch nodded as he looked to the door. He gathered all my stuff and shoved what was salvageable into the bag then began to put silk around me before carrying me up into the air vent. I messaged Bella that we were heading to Rodger's office and she gave a thumbs up emoji.

After an agonizing little while we finally came out into the back-office room, and I could smell the others had left here nearly three or four hours ago. As Enoch removed the silk I grinned at the pillows still out. I tried to gather them but Enoch stopped me placing me onto the sofa. He looked at the large gaping wound on my shoulder as the cover fell off. He pulled the used bandage off then began to touch the edges of the wound.

I winced at what he was doing then looked down to see his silk over the wound and holding the ragged edges close before covering the areas. Bella had said it was too complicated for stitches and they were in the process of getting a medical staple gun. It was no longer actively bleeding so rather than aggravate the wound further it was left open with a light dressing that had come off with the silk during the journey through the vents.

Enoch looked at his work then grabbed the two pillows from the floor and handed them to me. I piled them up slightly then slowly lowered myself to lay down on the sofa. It took a little while before I was comfortable, but it was well worth it.

I must have drifted off into sleep because I woke with a start as Bella made the strangest noise as she entered into the office. Even Enoch seemed startled by her reaction as he threw silk over the walls and floor.

"What happened?" I tried to look around but I failed and lay limply on the sofa. Bella's chest was heaving and her eyes looked far away. "Bella?" Enoch narrowed his eyes and walked up to Bella and touched her on the arm. She snapped out of whatever had taken a hold of her and shook her head.

"Oh… sorry… I… Who was in here with the twins?" I frowned.

"Well, their dad, Mathew and a few warriors from the pack. Why?" She licked her lips as she began to place the food to the coffee table.

"When are you going back to the pack?" I tried to shrug.

"I was meant to go sometime Saturday. But it looks like Sunday or Monday now." She nodded.

"Can I come with you?" I narrowed my eyes.

"As long as you tell me why you suddenly want to come. You're not the countryside kind of girl." She nodded.

"I smell my mate." I had a goofy smile on my face as she handed me a couple of spring rolls and fried Dim Sim.

"Ok." I managed. There was no point in arguing with her. I vaguely remember what it was like to smell your mate that first time and her desire would have taken hold of her now. My stomach growled loudly and I began to wolf down the food.

With my hunger sated I nestled down on the sofa and closed my eyes. I was vaguely aware of Oscar and Rodger coming into the office sometime later and heard Rodger bitterly complaining. It didn't last long as he came around and sat on the sofa and ran his fingers through my hair. Oscar too sat and placed my legs over his knees.

I felt strangely less painful and at ease. My breathing grew heavier, and I drifted off to sleep.
