Chapter 92 - Chapter 92

'Giving up so soon, little one?' A dark and terrible voice filled my head.

'Who…' I never got to finish my question as two burning eyes found me then fixed me with an intense gaze.

'Found you,' The voice chided from the shadows. 'You shall be mine' It hissed, and I felt pain like I never felt before as the unseen presence forced it's way into my head.

'Not if I can help it!' I felt more pain as this second presence forced its way into my mind and the two began to fight. 'Dam it girl give me a hand or we're both fucking doomed!' I had lost the plot. With a thought I tried aiming a punch at the first invading figure and it shuddered allowing the second to get the upper hand.

'I will return! You can't stop me!'

'Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm still going strong so get bent!' the first of the presents vanished. 'He's marked you now. But since you have the uncanny ability to hurt him, I'll help you save your life. But you'll owe me one.' I frowned and felt a strange surge of power.

I opened my eyes. Pain ripped through me as the Gatekeeper was still goring me in the ring. A snarl like I had never imagined left my lips. Over forty people fainted and more than a few soiled themselves. I grabbed the Gatekeeper by the horns and heaved. With strength I never possessed before I pushed back his massive head until I was free.

Whispers of disbelieve rippled through the crowd as I wrapped my legs around the Gatekeeper's body and began to twist his head around. Once I got him pinned, I ripped the pole in his neck outwards causing a large wound to rupture everything trapped on the wrong side of the wood. Blood began to run like a river and the Gatekeeper began to try and throw me off.

However, I didn't budge and went back to twisting his head. After a few failed attempts the Gatekeeper began to claw at my arms ripping the skin. I gave a heave and a sickening crack echoed out into the arena. The Gatekeeper went limp. After a few minutes my arms felt like they were on fire and I was burning.

Derick's POV

I made the boys look away this was far too gory for them. As they sat behind the sofa with their Bella Donna action figures, popcorn and fizzy I gave them the running commentary but drastically altered it for their mind sets. I hesitated.

"I think the Bulldog is dead…" Aden began to cry and Kaden looked up his face worried.

"And the Banshee? Is she ok?" I pursed my lips as I saw the graphic goring on the screen.

"I don't think so…" The two boys began to sob as a somber atmosphere took us. It was horrible, I looked away as Dean sat the closest to the screen a few tears running down his face. It was strange. I didn't realize the Banshee meant so much to him.

Suddenly there came a gasp and I looked to the screen. My mind exploded at what I was seeing. I gasped and my mouth flopped open a few times.

"Holy crap! Is she..." I saw the drastic turn of events. The Banshee was overpowering the Gatekeeper. She ripped open his neck and went back to twisting his head. A crack filled the room so loud that both boys stopped sobbing and looked up.

"What was that?" I was speechless. We all were speechless.

"Fuck me…" Jeff muttered. "Boys the Banshee just broke the Minotaur's neck…" There were relived. I breathed a sigh of relief. This was only meant to be a money match no one was meant to die especially not their favorite fighter.

Suddenly to my horror my hopes were dashed as a strange fire seemed to slither from the Minotaur's body and engulf the Banshee.

"Fuck…" the boys peeked over the sofa and they gasped. "Don't watch this!" I chased them away. "I don't even want to watch this."

"But the fire is eating her." Aden looked around "Why can't they put the fire out?" I frowned.

"Good question…" I looked to the others. "Only one is alive so why hasn't the spell gone down?" Chad shrugged.

"I have no clue. This match has been all sorts of weird." I nodded and looked to the screen.

Rodger's POV

My mouth was bleeding as I had damaged something trying to bite my way into the ring. After all that and even killing the Gatekeeper, Danica was being burned alive by it's fire. I frowned. The minotaur's body was going up in ashes but Danica still seemed to be in one piece.

A sudden announcement came blasted through the system. It felt like light rain after a drought. Gentle smooth and sweet. The match was over, the crowd appeal had overturned the wildcard and the match was cancelled. The spell vanished and paramedics rushed in towards the Bulldog and I grabbed the fire extinguisher and hopped into the ring. I snapped the plastic and pulled the ring from the can and pointed the nozzle. With a hiss the fire went out and a rather blackened Banshee collapsed to the ground, there was very little left of the minotaur except a large formless blob and strangely it smelt like roast beef.

I dropped the fire extinguisher and place an ear to her chest. I sat back and waved as the second group of paramedics arrived.

"She's alive!" I shouted and waved the paramedics to move faster. I wiped some of the burnt fabric of her shoulder where the wound from the minotaur's horn was the deepest and frowned. A fire was burning inside her but after a few moments it vanished.
