"But where do we go? We don't have enough numbers to communicate with the superiors in Doravon, so we have nowhere to go. We could regroup with the evolved semi-humans on the coast, but it might take almost two weeks of flying," one of the subordinates asked, disheartened.
"No, we'll regroup with another team of aberrations. We'll inform them about the undead's abilities and that there was no connection between the undead and the overlord," the leader explained while leading the flight.
The aberrations hadn't confirmed the overlord's presence nor seen any other species of undead, so they assumed that Athos and the black skeletons were wild undead.
The fact that they had survived and managed to escape was the biggest proof. They were aware that if the skeletons had activated the fortress's defenses, they would all be dead now.
It was impossible that a fortress created with the overlord's resources would have failed at such a crucial moment.
