She drops him in the crib, stretches a little bit then pats his hair.
" Taking care of you is real hassle, wait here a bit. I need to prepare supper, your dad would soon be back." She smiles then gently says.
Immediately exiting the room, tying and adjusting her arpon on the way out.
Chiki pushes himself up, barely sitting up resting his back on the cribs's headpanel, sighing internally it's so hard to move in a baby's body, everything is so mushy. Nonetheless i need to check weather i can still use mana. He closes his eyes and enters a meditative state, if my knowledge serves me right then mana exists in everything primarily in the form of the basic elements fire, water, air, lightning and earth they encompass the basics of all there is, should be, would be and could possibly be. All i need to do is first gain awareness of this mana particles. Multiple glowing dust like partilcles float around as if waiting for him to beckon them to come forth, a look of slight shock appears on his face. Each swirling around him causing him to feel dizzy. He starts sweating profusely and breaks out of the trance.
Just maintaining awareness in this undeveloped body is pretty taxing and I haven't even started drawing in mana, he sighs. But i might've made an even more bigger discovery, in my previous life the first time i gained awareness was at a really late period, i was only able to detect the fire particles, which formed the basis of everything i gained which obviously hindered my growth truth be told. But here i could feel every single one of them just like her, This would've caused an uproar back in the days and maybe things might've ended up different.
Well no need to wallow in the regret of what could've been, let's just take it one step at a time. I started using mana pretty late in my previous life cause of my weak roots it was a heavens encounter that helped me gain it, reminiscing a boy dress in rags, covered in dust and murk as he got pummeled by a group of brutes, even at that i was still a weakling that got stomped on for the pleasure of it. I didn't think i'll ever remember such things, he smirks to himself. when i was at my lowest. things are different here so i have to make it count.
He plops to his side, i better take a quick nap. yawning adorably, warlords aren't born overnight.
*************Four months later**************
Akina gently places arunah down, he balances his self on all fours and starts to crawl.
" There you go. " she cheers for him whilst whistling and pounding her other hand in the air.
Finally i can crawl, if all my enemies can see me now. he smiles broadly revealing his cute baby teeth.
" I better call your dad, he wouldn't want to miss this." she pokes her cheeks with a finger and heads the towards a counter that immediately lights up when she touches it.
He admires technology once more, then immediately flees the scene once he notices how immersed she is in it, he heads towards the living room internally proclaiming to himself "it's time to explore". passing the weird metal zombie, it observes him with deadpan eyes before he steps into the hallway.
Passes a massive mirror, immediately crawls back. Woah i haven't noticed it before but damn I'm cute, he rubs his chin and smiles broadly. before continuing on his way, he enter one room after the other until he finds the study, JACKPOT.
A massive map has been plastered on the wall depicting all the kingdoms and oceans. Even the layout is different, He grumbles and notices a book carelessly left open, he reads the title " magic and arcane what are they? ". Atleast i can still read.
He flips the book open and begins to read, he pauses for a bit after noticing a few key points. It seems their approach to magic is different unlike how we took magic as a lifeline and mana as an essential like how air is needed when we breath, it's been thoroughly analyzed and categorized as a system which requires total and utter harmony one disruption could lead to a melt down and mana as the tangible fuel to make this system work which is another misconception mana is the system.
Although a brilliant way to look at it, it blocks their sight and would hinder them from seeing it's full potential. Arcane on the other hand is the stage were magic and technology live in harmony, first time I've seen anything on this level a stage were magic isn't just magic anymore.
It also says a child would naturally gain the ability to use mana when they reach they're age of comprehension, this might be the awareness i know of. Completely opposite to what i know, the fact that they think only the chosen would gain said comprehension when they hit the right age, unlike the meditative awareness common in my old life.
Akina walks into the room and easily picks him up even with his opposition as he flails his arms and feet in protest, making inaudible noises so she could let him go.
You're interrupting my study mother. he grumbles at the injustice
" You got me worried, you little ninja. What act of mischief are you cooking up now. "
She immediately places him on her shoulder supporting his bottom with her arm and walks out of the room firmly closing the door behind her. She sits down on the couch, then sits me on her lap.
" I'm so exhausted." She yawns stretching a bit.
She clicks her fingers and a tv hologram is projected from a blue orb, she begin patting my back trying to get me to sleep. I laugh at her weak effort not even realising when we both fell asleep.
Alan walks on proclaiming he's home, only to find both of us knocked out. He switches off the tv and softly kissing both of us on the forehead.
" I guess I'll let you guys rest for a little bit." he smiles while patting akina's hair.
