They stopped at the front of a very tall building that looked more like a chapel then a house. It had an angel like figure at the front and beside it where three people with their face covered kneeling beside it. It was obvious that they were alll women but what was a place like this doing in the Garden of Leto.
"I thought this was an abandoned place?" Flykra asked.
"So did I" Rudina replied
"Or that's what we were told"Reika replied
"But don't the elders only tell us the truth?" Rudina asked
"Well we don't know for sure" Flykra said "But what we do know is this would be a nice place to spend the night"
"I don't know why but I agree with that" Reika replied looking around.
"Let's go then"Rudina said walking up the stairs as the others followed. They stood at the door of the building which was very tall, they felt like rats at the front of it. They had never seen anything like this even in their town. Rudina had been to the imperial city a few times but even at that she didn't think any building there compared to this.
"How are we going to open this?" Reika said pushing at the door a bit.
"I have no idea" Flykra replied also pushing a bit.
"Do you think" Rudina said looking around "Maybe there's like a secret way to open it? You know like in the stories we've heard"
"A secret way?" Reika asked with a smile. She felt happy that they were going to solve a puzzle.
"Well Rudi" Flykra said "This is not a story. This is reality"
"Come on Flykra"Reika said as she pushed through everything she could find "There is no harm in trying and what if that is the…"
Boom!!
Right there reality hit them. Their parents where dead, no the whole town was dead with no survivals. Their family burnt in the flame. While some ran towards the fire crying the others tried to hold them saying "Their gone there is nothing we can do" as tears ran down their eyes. There were just children that were barely eight years and yet they had no one to call family anymore.
With no hope they roamed around the forest searching for food and still looking for a way to open the building they found. They searched everywhere for food and something to keep them warm but still none of them had the courage to go back to the estate to check. They would play around sometimes forgetting thier problem but whenever it was time for them to sleep they would cry in each other's arms to bed.
This was how life was for them till they woke up to a strange environment one day.
"What's going on?" They each asked looking around. They couldn't find each other they had all been seperated into different places. They cried screaming for the other but couldn't see eachother even though they were in the same building.
"Enough!" A lady shouted while walking in. The dress she wore was unusually short and improper for a lady.
"Why are you crying?" She asked Rudina.
"I was with my friends a while ago but now they are nowhere to be found" Rudina sobbed.
"So?" The lady asked with her hands on her waist "It's not like they are dead"
"But I can't find them" Rudina said angrily. How dare this lady that barely knew anything about her talk to her like that?
After watching her town turn from one of the greatest March to nothing in an instant how could she not be scared when her friends go missing.
"I'll have you know that you are all standing beside each other as a matter of fact they are standing right beside you" She said.
Rudina turned around then hissed like the child she was throwing a tantrum "Are you trying to make a fool out of me? There is no one beside me"
"That's because you can't see them and neither can they" she smirked.
Rudina bit her lips angrily.
"The four of you are standing together talking to me right now and…"
"The four of us?" Rudina asked, confused. She clearly came on with two people so how are they four?
"Oh you didn't know? There are four survivors" the lady said, turning around.
"Four survivors? How?" Rudina asked, surprised.
"Uhm" The lady stopped turning around "Because they are four of you who survived the destruction of your March" she shrugged.
How did she know about the March? How did she know it was destroyed?
A million questions ran through Rudinas mind at once while the lady stared at her with a smirk.
"You've got a question, why don't you ask" The lady said.
She gulped not knowing which to ask first but after some moments she settled for the simplest one.
"Who are you?" She whispered.
"I am you" The lady replied with a smile.
Rudina stared at her confused. Was this some kind of game? If she didn't want to reply she should have said so rather than making a fool out of her.
"I know" The lady replied "It sounds ridiculous but believe me it's the truth"
"I don't look like you" Rudina replied, rolling her eyes.
"Well not exactly but we do look alike" The lady said with a little shrug.
Rudina raised a brow confused.
"Well" The lady said walking up to Rudina "Don't you wake up sometimes with your hair silver or as white as snow"
Rudina stared at her thinking.
"You know one of those days when you've been stressed out or…" she eyed Rudina realizing she's still a kid "Or maybe not. But those days when you've played a lot and then you wake up in the middle of the night with your hair white"
"Yes" Rudina whispered. She had woken up a few times in the middle of the night with White hair but her hair has never been as white as the lady's hair.
"But not as white as this?" The lady ask pointing to her hair.
"Yes" Rudina nods.
"That's because of the level of purity" The lady shrugged.
"Purity?" Rudina asked, confused.
"That's the main reason you are here" She tapped Rudinas head "Follow me"
"What do you mean by that's why I am here?" Rudina asked not moving an inch.
"You don't know who you are, do you?" The lady said, bending down to Rudinas height.
"What do you mean? I know who I am" Rudina whispered.
"No" The lady said pointing at Rudinas chest "Your true self not Rudina Valentino of the new moon"
"Then who am I?" She asked
"How about you find that out by yourself" The lady smiled standing "Now come along" She gestured for Rudina to follow her.
Rudina followed her quietly.
"Have you ever heard about the legend of Leto?"
"What is that?" Rudina asked.
"A lady as beautiful as the sky. Some call her the queen of wolfs, some the goddess of humility and kindness"
Rudina stared at the pictures that were hung up on the wall as the walked pass. It was a self portrait of different women but they all had three things in common. Golden eyes, hair as white as snow and really pale skin. They looked tired but they had a big smile on their face.
