Chapter 4 - System! Establish it!!

Li Cheng shot up from his feet. His eyes followed the sprawling vines tangling on the towering trees, as they reached up high in formation of canopies.

Yet, these magnificent pillars of nature were still much below.

Soaring to the Heavens which overlooked everything was an ancient grand mountain that loomed in the distance; solitary and solemn.

"System. I want you to establish the Legendary Sect there."

Li Cheng did not raise his hand to point. Neither did he approach in spite of the sizable distance.

His arms were crossed and his back was straight as a door, gazing without a tremble.

Rather than a cultivator posing as an immortal, he appeared to be an arrogant emperor.

[You are a little far. If you do this, then the forestry here will also be included as part of the sect. Are you sure?]

"Indeed."

[You have yet to create any constructions. There are no signs that would signal to someone that this place is a sect. This is merely a plot of land. The System rather suggests you to recruit disciples first. Mission rewards and milestones can provide materials and even constructions.]

'There are milestones? I can be rewarded with genuine constructions besides materials? God damn!'

"Impressive."

The System was compelled into being speechless. As a reminder, the System can read his mind. Li Cheng's posing was so arbitrary and his character became much different, making the System feel awkward.

It took a minute of silence until the System responded.

[...How do you plan on constructing?]

"Although I've worked in construction back in my old world, I'm no architect. I was planning to purchase a temporary adobe or pay someone to build a sect from a design that suited my liking.

"Naturally once it's constructed I planned to move it into this world by myself. It's embarrassing as a sect master to have a disciple do it. While it would certainly be more ideal to have it constructed in this world, it would be very difficult to find architects with a strong cultivation."

Li Cheng's standards for a disciple, while may be lenient at the start, were going to be strict. If he were to recruit exclusive disciples as architects, then he would have to spend more resources on them to make them worthy.

Of course, there's the argument that it is worth the investment. But wouldn't that mean in the future he would also have exclusive gourmets, maids, farmers etc.

This was a world of cultivation.

This mindset of perfection may form into a very powerful sect—

but would it be the strongest?

No!

All strength is useless against absolute power!

Unfortunately, this thought process was not explained in his mind at the time. It was at the back of it. Not knowing the full directory of intentions, the System responded,

[...Do you plan to leave your disciples stranded until you find an actual living for them? It appears you do not care whether you recruit or construct first.]

"...Yes."

'If I had to take them in, they could live with it. After all, they are cultivators right?'

DING!

Li Cheng's arrogant posture crumbled as his eardrums rang with an enhanced Ding!

[As your host, I am ashamed. Where is the kingdom-building? I am the Legendary System! The Legendary Sect System!!]

DING!

DING!

DING!

"Fuck, Fuck okay okay calm down!"

His head was still dizzy due to before. If this continued, Li Cheng felt like he would faint.

Li Cheng thought about the godly Starter Package he received. He refused to believe that the System rewards and the now known feature of milestones (probably locked) would be trash. The evidence was his inventory.

"S-System establish the location of my sect! Right here, right now!"

Ding!

[Congratulations! You have established the location of your sect.]

[Unfortunately, there are no clear areas for the System to aid in the management of the Sect. System heavily advises you to quickly begin the construction of the land!]

'Nope, sorry.'

[Opening Main Sect Window…]

[Legendary Sect]

[Sect Master: Li Cheng]

[Disciples 0/6 Elders 0/3]

[Location: Experimental #5 Miniature Primordial World's Central Area]

[Mission: Find Disciples!]

[Priority- Recommended]

[Although you have yet to properly construct a habitual place for your disciples, you can still… find potential disciples! Recruit 6 disciples and 3 elders.]

[Reward: ???]

"System. I see you are quick on the uptake."

Ding!

[New Mission has been issued!]

[Mission: Construction of the Sect!]

[Priority- Highly recommended]

[Now that you have found a location to build your sect. Please begin your first construction by deforesting the land and aid in forming temporary immortal caves for your disciples in the Central Grand Mountain.]

[Reward: Profound Tempered Oakwood x234, Dawn Shining Marble x457, Ancient Green Bamboo x120…]

"System! You can't tempt me!" Li Cheng roared, but his eyes glittered as he was mesmerised by the building materials listed. The descriptions were too astonishing!

'This System definitely added many building materials on purpose. I've yet to finish a single mission and it is actually willing to not only show the rewards ahead of time, but also throw a charity.'

What's interesting is that there were no full infrastructures within the rewards. They were all building blocks, as if to force Li Cheng to creatively make use of them.

'Haa… For now, let's just keep it in mind. Although the System can coerce me into doing things, ultimately, I have the final decision.'

"I appreciate it, but do not worry."

Li Cheng comforted. In case the System somehow finds another way to rebel.

Taking a scroll through his Starter Package, he searched for the item that he had been looking forward to the most when coming here.

You could say it was the most overpowered item he loved on that list.

[Primordial Azure Dragon Egg]

[After the finalisation of the creation of all things in the universe, the Primordial Era arrived. One of the first True God creatures to be birthed was the Primordial Azure Dragon, one of the Four Holy Mythical Beasts. The dragon was tasked with the other Holy Mythical Beasts by the will of the Universe itself to guard the 4 corners. The Azure Dragon was tasked with the Eastern Side. This is an egg of this True God. As this egg is not created by the Universe, it will require a very long time for it to fully mature into reaching what is considered as the 'True God' realm.]

"System! Please guide me in nurturing and hatching this egg!" Li Cheng bowed with boundless sincerity.

[What are your thoughts?]

"Frankly, I don't have many ideas and I don't dare to underestimate its hatching conditions. I think that leaving it here in this miniature world would fare better than the real world."

[Indeed. Continue.]

"I don't have any experience in incubating, and the Li Sect does not offer any training or facilities when it comes to nurturing beasts." Li Cheng grit his teeth in frustration.

"The only ways I can think of is waiting to find a beast-taming disciple to help me, wait until I go into a higher realm to find solutions, or utilise the Primordial Phoenix Bloodlines' strength to boost fire techniques to incubate it."

[...You are aware that this is an egg of a True God, correct?]

"Yes. I know it's going to take a lot of effort. So I want to immediately begin preparations to hatch it. It's the legendary, Holy Mythical Beast: the Primordial Azure Dragon. How can I not do my utmost to bring birth to it."

Li Cheng placed his right hand over his chest.

"I am still very ignorant and have yet to explore the upper-realms, but I'm confident that these incredible creatures no longer exist which deeply saddens me. Sure, there are cultivators out there who have probably taken their legacies, but a real genuine Primordial Divine Beast in this era?"

He flung his hands into the air.

"I will make legends of old come back alive, and display to the world what makes a legend a legend!

"Divine beasts, True Gods, Immortals, all of these legends will be renown—

IN OUR LEGENDARY SECT!!!"

BOOM!

Li Cheng's words echoed the world with a rippling thunder.

All that could be heard were the chants of "Legendary Sect".

The System did not respond.

Just before Li Cheng's lips were about to part, he heard a notification from the System.

Ding!

Ding!

[An Exclusive Mission has been issued!]

[Exclusive Mission: Resurrection of the Primordial Azure Dragon]

[Part 1: Find a way to carefully incubate the Egg]

[Priority- Own Discretion]

[Your sincere desires to bring the glory of the Sect and the Holy Mythical Beast to return have been heartfelt. Please find a way to carefully incubate the Egg. Once feasible conditions have met, the System will aid you with the next step.]

[Reward: ???]

"You have chosen the right transmigrator to host, System!"

As quick as a flash, Li Cheng dashed to the best empty space on the glade where sunlight and earth was most abundant. With blood-shot eyes and extreme concentration, he let the System carefully drop the ginormous, aquatic, domineering egg onto the ground.

Boom!

The sudden impact of an asteroid caused a short period of tremors, quaking the ground. Li Cheng, being at the epicentre, took the full force, lost his footing, and collapsed onto the addicting mattress.

Sprawled on the ground with his legs split apart and back facing the floor, he rotated his head upwards in happiness.

The egg was perfectly straight. Its peak was acute in a perfect vertical to the sky. After some admiration, he took out all 3 vials of the Primordial Phoenix Bloodlines which were in strange, obsidian, tiny vials and circled them around the egg. He made sure that before he placed a vial, he firmly planted them into the ground.

[Primordial Vermillion Phoenix Blood x3]

[Within this sacred vial rests the essence of the Holy Mythical Beast, the Primordial Vermillion Phoenix. Imbued with the majestic vitality and fiery purity of this mythical creature, each vial contains eight undiluted drops of its primordial blood. The blood, a testament to the Phoenix's timeless existence, pulses with the essence of rebirth and the undying flame that courses through its veins. The rich vermilion hue captivates the beholder, hinting at the eternal life and resplendent power embodied within. These drops hold the potential to kindle the embers of life and grant those who partake in its essence a touch of the mythical creature's legendary resilience and untamed flame ~ In the crimson blood of the Phoenix, the ancient flames of rebirth dance within each drop. ~ ]

"System, does this qualify?"

[...It is good to be diligent; however, the conditions are insufficient to proceed with the next step. Your actions are not futile though. The miniature world's natural spiritual energy is indeed greatly beneficial to what is required for the egg. Regarding the bloodlines… their auras do help albeit minuscule.]

[The road has already been paved by you.]

[It is up to you to cross it.]

"Excellent!"

Li Cheng's actions were akin to a desperate madman but they paid off. He didn't have to worry about the weather because it was perpetual.

Thus, in this jungle-like forest its weather would forever be fine, sunny weather until night arrives which he wouldn't need to worry about considering the calm conditions. External influences are not taken into account.

'I spent too much time here. It is quite likely that my bro-con brother has gone looking for me to check up on me to see if I am safe. Ughh I'm also technically not allowed to be outside the sect, so I need to find an explanation for that too.

Generally, the Sect during day hours does not allow disciples to leave outside the periphery unless they were sent on a mission or errand. You would use a token given by an elder to show proof that you were given permission to leave.

Most of the young masters and young miss would abuse this verification process through either blackmail, threatening with their status, or simply by having a token (since there are numerous).

Li Cheng, had his older brother's master's token. After all, he visited the north hall frequently to meet with his brother who would occasionally be guided by his master.

FLASH!

Squinting his eyes and shaking off the slight dizziness from the warp, he waddled back out into the real world.

Before he could gain his clarity, he was shocked into attention as his body went cold into trepidation.

"There better not be any old—FUCK!"
