Chapter 16 - CHAPTER 14

"We need to talk Nikita, is there some place quiet that we can talk in this realm." She nodded and took him by the had to lead him out of the crowd. The sun had just set and the population by the park was decreasing, leaving the place in complete silence like it once was, desolate and dark waiting for the next day of fun.

She could feel his eyes on her, but her mind was in a completely different place, more like in a dilemma than a paradise, she felt her mouth curve into a slight smile as she remembered the view from the house, the first night she had stayed the night, remembering hearing Kingsley's silent snores that night before slipping into her sleep that she had pretended just to see what Kingsley would do.

"I see you aren't focusing at the situation at hand." Ezra said disrupting her train of thoughts. She turned to him and blinked away the images in her head.

"You're here to deliver a message, so...get on with it then. Its getting dark." He had a small smirk on his face before he muttered his message.

"Home is in a very joyous mood, even your father is expecting you back. Your transition is just around the corner in a couple months they want you there to prepare." He said as she stared at him in shock.

"Are you suggesting I leave its way to early. I have a couple of months, I have a long period till then, sorry for wasting your time." She said looking towards Ezra's direction, but the look in his face shifted drastically and the previous one was replaced with a deep sorrow she had never seen in his eyes.

"Nikita, I wasn't supposed to tell you this...and the news spread fast..." She inched closer and put her hand over his and asked what it was he was talking about. She didn't get a reply and the cold wind blew between them as he uttered the words that dreaded her the most...

"No...no! Ezra, you're lying! I can't believe they would do that! Why?!" He shook his head and watched as she trembled on the bridge and her legs finally gave in and the tears escaped without her even noticing and the pang of pain shot through her chest almost immediately.

Ezra, turned away and disappeared without any more to tell her leaving her alone in the bridge with a mass of water underneath. From a distance she heard the chuckles of a baby and refused to become curious of the sound and sink in the words that were just muttered to her. The park were filled with her wails and cries, with no one to come to her to comfort her and tell her that this was all a lie.

* * * * * *

"Nikita!" I called out again and again answered with silence, I was panicking. Did she already leave with that man and maybe she wasn't coming back. Who was I kidding even if she did, I wasn't going to stop searching for her, even if it took me the whole night. I walked all over and the only place I hadn't checked was the bridge.

The place was lively for this time of night, there were groups of families everywhere and it was overwhelming and I wasn't going to find her like this, hell I messed up I shouldn't have left her in the first place. In the crowd full of children and parents running around carrying firesticks, made me remember those days...that was a long time ago.

I had decided to give myself a break and possibly reach the conclusion that she had left and her time here...with me had meant nothing but room service to her. I sighed and looked at the water, the moon's reflection on its surface shimmering brightly. It reminded of me of Nikita's eyes when she got excited. I'm pathetic really.

When the place became quiet for a moment I heard sobbing and crying from the direction of the bridge and stood up immediately. Even though it was the sound of someone crying, I knew that voice. My legs started moving on its own and I reached the foot of the bridge to find my dansel in distress.

"Kingsley?" I heard her ask as she stood up from the cold wood and started walking towards me slowly. My body and mind weren't running in the same speed and I ran to her, before she tumbled and fell. In moments before I could recognize I had her right where I wanted her in my arms, and here. She didn't leave, thank God, was all I thought.

"Kingsley", She said again and start to sob, my heart was racing in my chest I thought I was going to have a heart attack. The things this woman did to me. From then it became deathly quiet and she had at least calmed down a bit. She pulled back a bit and smiled at me with her glassy eyes, fresh from a good cry.

"Thank yo-..." I couldn't let her finish that sentence and descended on her without thinking about it twice. Even though it was my first time doing this I wanted to do it, I had to do it, if she really wanted to know how much she affected me. Her lips were soft and warm. I deepened the kiss for my own pleasure at a point and went a little slower for her sake, God she was beautiful in every aspect I tried to deny it but I couldn't. When I released her for a gasp of air we were at it again, this time her hands crossed behind my neck and much closer.

What had I done? Attacking a defenseless woman like that. Her face looked flustered, and mine felt hot. Damn, I'm screwed...
