It was late afternoon, and we all sat down under a huge fig tree and rested. Iris lay on my body while Derek and Iris sat opposite us, listening to the cackling of the fire as the wood burnt.
Since we left the inn, we had been on the road for the next few days, only taking breaks to allow the horses to rest and drink water. This time, the trip was a lot more enjoyable because iris and I were on better terms s. We laughed a lot more and played with each other.
It made me feel guilty about Kara, like I had led her on and made promises I could not keep, even if that were not the case. But Kara did not mind, though; she kept on her own and spoke to Derek if she needed anything.
According to Derek, we were four days away from Bjorn's Kingdom, and I could not wait for us to reach there. We would get a chance to rest, and my sore laps would get a chance to heal.
