Apart from the vibrations in the air, there was no explosion as imagined.
The sea beside the deserted island surged, rushing towards the newly "excavated" hole. If the opening weren't too small, it would have formed a vortex by now.
"It looks good."
Kurumi said to Red Queen, who was recording data on the side.
"Yes." Red Queen nodded her tiny head. "I never expected that a 'nightmare' made from such inferior material as titanium alloy would have such offensive capabilities. Ultimately, it should be credited as a material for making spears."
"I told you, titanium alloy doesn't feel like this. And if Stark hears you say that, he'll probably faint in the bathroom, wondering what spear-making material is used. Extraterrestrial meteorites?"
"Well, Master, your guess is spot on."
Kurumi shrugged and didn't pay much attention to Red Queen's tone. "That's how it's written in novels, isn't it? Just attribute everything that can't be explained to the unknown. After all, there are endless possibilities."
"Whoosh~"
The seawater wouldn't calm down quickly. Kurumi stood in the air and watched for a while, then said quietly, "Red Queen, did you forget to load the recovery device?"
Red Queen's cute little face was gradually filled with despair, and she weakly retorted, "Please, Master, don't lump me together with you!"
"So, in your eyes, am I such a terrible person?" Kurumi pouted.
"Master, there's no use in pretending to be cute!" Red Queen appeared particularly righteous.
Kurumi didn't say anything and casually searched on the 'nightmare.' She mumbled to herself, "Is it this?"
"Hey!" Red Queen was about to stop her when the mechanically controlled arm connected to his nerves suddenly patted it!
Kurumi vaguely saw a silver light, turned around, and saw the large steel wings on her back fully expanded, resembling closely packed blades attached to them, making one sense their sharpness just by looking.
On both sides, slightly futuristic-looking small floating gun platforms, somewhat elongated, with red lines outlined on the black coating.
Looking at the targeting system on the holographic screen, Kurumi murmured, "Why does this feel like a few years ago's FPS games?"
She spoke while not stopping his hand movements. Through neural control, her head turned slightly, locking onto the target!
Immediately, the two floating gun platforms began firing lasers. How fast is the speed of light? Kurumi had just issued the command, and the laser had pierced a massive rock on the deserted island!
The cave was slightly dark, and smoke billowed out, instantly reaching an unbelievable temperature.
These two laser shots caused a rapid drop in the energy bar, leaving Kurumi wide-eyed.
"It's because the reactor integration is not mature yet and hasn't been properly synchronised with the body. Excessive energy consumption at the beginning is normal," Red Queen explained on the side.
Kurumi waved herr hand, throwing all the display frames on the holographic screen into the "trash." Her massive steel wings on his back immediately retracted to their usual state, and even the two floating gun platforms hid inside the body.
"Master, you can directly use neural control to retract the spear from the arm bracer," Red Queen said.
Kurumi rolled his eyes. "You could have told me earlier."
"Swoosh!"
"Pop!"
The sound of breaking wind rang out, and the heavy spear instantly returned to the 'nightmare.' Upon closer inspection, one could still see fading runes on it.
A few drops of water dripped from the spear's tip, eventually splashing into the seawater, creating invisible ripples.
Lifting the heavy spear in her hand and glancing at the small whirlpool, Kurumi said, "This thing reminds me of the Spear of Longinus."
"Longinus?" Red Queen asked.
"Something like that. It feels powerful, but it lacks the one-hit kill feature."
"That's a mythical artefact," Red Queen reminded, her voice filled with resentment just by listening to it.
Waving the spear in his hand at will, causing gusts of wind, Kurumi skillfully inserted it into the "feathers" on his back.
After the wind blew for a while, the sea gradually calmed down. Kurumi glanced casually and said, "Let's go back."
"Click-click-click."
A series of metallic noises and Kurumi jumped from the 'nightmare.'
Her feet touched the metal ground, giving him a somewhat unreal feeling.
"Master, it's just because you've been flying too long," Red Queen said.
Kurumi pinched her brow and didn't take it seriously, agreeing with Red Queen''s explanation.
While changing clothes, Kurumi stared at herself for a long time with his arms crossed.
After a while, he asked, "Red Queen, can you change the cockpit into full armour mode?"
"Huh?" Red Queen blinked her big eyes and suddenly understood Kurumi's meaning. "Completely covered from head to toe?"
"Yeah, wearing this is so revealing. It feels embarrassing standing outside."
Kurumi turned to look at Red Queen, who was still hesitating. "Do you have information on the 'Silver Gospel'?"
"The third-generation military IS jointly developed by the U.S. military in that IS world?"
Kurumi nodded. "Something similar to that full-body armour coverage should be fine, right?"
Red Queen nodded to herself. "Do you want me to add the wing attack like the Silver Gospel's final form?"
"Can you make that level?"
"Of course, don't underestimate me!"
Kurumi waved her hand. "No need for that. That form is practically the same as consuming energy. Now, 'nightmare' can't even fully expand its final form. So, let's not think about other things and just help me make full-body armour."
Red Queen looked sad as if she wanted to persuade Kurumi to equip that handsome winged form.
"Let's go home. What are you still thinking about?" Kurumi reminded.
"Oh, right." After hearing Kurumi's words, Red Queen finally came to her senses.
The special agents were busy when they opened the door and returned to the room.
"You told me this girl stayed in Umbrella for half a day? Why didn't you infiltrate?"
"What? You can't get in? You guys can't even get into an ordinary company! Do you want me to arrange your identities so you can walk in openly?"
"You tried?"
The special agents who followed Kurumi were tormented, enduring the boss's scolding. Although their faces didn't look right, their strong psychological resilience helped them overcome it.
Meanwhile, the African-American director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury, had a complexion as dark as coal. Handling the Stark situation recently had kept him busy, dealing with the military and Stark's schemes. Late nights and overtime work were anything but easy.
Tonight, there was a strange sound over New York and anomalies in the sea area. According to satellite reports, it seemed like a missile had hit the area!
Nick felt that there was a connection between these two events. However, the military had already taken over the situation on the deserted island.
