"Chi~"
With the thrust from the rear and the gravity technology specially designed by the Beta civilisation, 'Nightmare' successfully hovered in mid-air.
There were six or seven holographic screens in front of Kurumi, but she could only understand two of them. As for the others, how was she supposed to know what they meant?!
Moreover, during flight, Kurumi couldn't seem to suppress her spiritual power inside her body, as if it could burst out at any moment. Without extended adaptation, it would be difficult to change this.
"Ka—"
Above the metallic wall, an opening extended, and Kurumi raised an eyebrow, comparing it to her armour.
She shrugged her shoulders, and 'Nightmare' responded in kind. "It looks like you've prepared well."
"Hehe, of course."
Using "thought," she activated the neural interface device, and 'Nightmare' responded instantly!
"Boom!—"
Breaking the sound barrier in an instant, the resulting sonic wave almost tore a hole in the metallic wall!
The defence in the "weak state" was almost shattered. Although this level of wind didn't harm Kurumi, it was still considered a lapse on Red Queen's part!
The energy shield thickened continuously, and Kurumi felt no resistance inside. Exposed to the air with a panoramic view of New York City at night, it was much more comfortable than Stark's holographic screens.
"Boom!—"
A sonic boom echoed, 'Nightmare' hovered in the high sky, and the strange noise in the sky drew the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Due to the pure energy shield, Kurumi didn't feel any resistance. It wasn't because of her physical prowess but because the energy shield blocked all resistance.
And she used this wind power to accelerate the mech once again!
The light in her eyes flashed. "Red Queen, it seems there are no restrictions on this mech?"
"In theory, that's correct."
"Then, doesn't that mean anyone can use it?"
"Please rest assured; no one can activate the mech without my command."
"And do you think communicating with the mech through the neural interface is easy?"
"Huh?" Kurumi blinked. "It seems pretty easy to me. It feels about as challenging as riding a bicycle as a kid."
The holographic screens instantly obscured the night scenery in front of her. Red Queen stood by, having changed her outfit, looking like a young teacher.
"Tap, tap, tap! Master, please pay attention to the blackboard."
"Haha!" Kurumi laughed lightly, covering her mouth with her hand. Red Queen's appearance was just too comical.
Rolling her eyes, Red Queen said, "Maybe it's easy for you, Master, but for ordinary people, it's as difficult as deciphering life and death."
"Controlling every nerve and giving the correct command can be done by anyone and by no one. Their use of nerves is only at the most basic level, and even some who lack talent, even after professional training, can never reach that level."
"And you, Master, are completely familiar with the spiritual power inside your body. Although you have yet to reach the level of controlling every single cell, you're heading in that direction. Your immense psychic power allows you to make the most accurate physical judgments. Even simulated poses from the cloud computing base can't compare to your subconscious actions."
"Furthermore," Red Queen continued calmly, "in the Marvel Universe, do you think monsters with extraordinary psychic power care about this armour? Even if they wanted to use it, it would be nothing more than a pile of scrap metal to them. Maybe the reactor has some effect on them."
Kurumi absentmindedly touched her chin with her right hand, and 'Nightmare's' right arm extended towards her "head," but the energy shield blocked it.
Kurumi was at a loss for words. "Well, sometimes it is inconvenient. Did you design this neural interface yourself?"
"Of course!" Red Queen replied confidently. "I don't understand the specifics of how IS operates. A core can represent everything, but who knows what that 'core' really is?"
"Isn't that 'core' a result of a bug in the physical constants of the IS world? It must be, right?" The projected Red Queen stomped her foot in frustration, her two little hands messing up her hair.
The troubles caused by the IS "core" were driving her almost to a logical deadlock.
"If it weren't for knowing that the IS world is not in the same universe and that the physical constants may differ, your motherboard might have already burned out," Kurumi teased.
"Well, yeah," Red Queen grumbled. "I know that. I just wanted to help you, Master. Sometimes, being a Beta-level AI is..."
"Alright, alright, 'Nightmare' has already given me plenty of surprises. Without even using the Cradle, this mech is mighty."
"Master, you can retrieve a weapon from behind you."
"Oh?" Following Red Queen's guidance, Kurumi pulled a spear behind the mech.
"Chi!—"
Sparks flew in all directions. Even though she held it in the mech's arm, Kurumi still felt the spear's weight.
Her wine-red eyes narrowed, and she knew the magic runes inscribed on the spear. However, the material used to create the spear exceeded her expectations.
If she fully exerted the spear, the power it could unleash would be terrifying!
