Chereads / Kurumi Tokisaki's Planar Journey / Chapter 293 - The General

Chapter 293 - The General

"What are you guys doing?!" came an angry voice through the headset.

"Sir, please remain calm. We can't guarantee that there hasn't been any mutation in your body, so..."

"So that's why you're locking us up for thorough research?!"

The young man's voice grew louder, sounding like an infuriated young lion.

"No, no, sir. I believe there's a misunderstanding here."

"Oh, for heaven's sake! Let me make a call, and I'll contact my lawyers and accuse you of violence!"

The agents on both sides didn't respond, suppressing the young man who wanted to "go wild" and then shutting off the headset on his head. After all, no one wanted to listen to his constant noise.

The woman hung her head, seemingly uninterested in what was happening beside her.

Only Kurumi secretly engraved the appearances of the two in her mind, deeply storing them.

The young man seemed like a rich second-generation, while the woman was probably just ordinary. As for why she appeared in the wealthy area, only she would know.

The helicopter flew directly to the top of a building, and everyone was led away by "medical personnel" in hazmat suits.

In the middle of it all, the young man mocked and insulted them with every offensive word he could think of.

Their manners left much to be desired...

Whoever was brought into a "lab" by "researchers" wouldn't be in a good mood either, right?

The military-style uniforms could barely go along with hazmat suits. Still, Kurumi in her black rabbit pyjamas stood out, especially with those oversized pants legs that always seemed to have a unique charm.

The elevator continued downwards. Kurumi closed her eyes, scanning the entire building with her psychic powers. Surprisingly, this wasn't the headquarters of S.H.I.E.L.D.

...

Disinfection, blood tests, safety checks, and then they were brought outside a small room separated by glass.

"So, you mean we stay in here?"

"And then be like monkeys in a zoo for people to watch?"

Although the agents were much taller than Kurumi, she felt as if a little girl was looking down upon her at this moment!

No response. They looked at the perfectly square glass room, frowning slightly. It was indeed uncomfortable.

The young man continued to rant on the side, muttering about his authority.

Suddenly, the young man's body heated up, even with someone "supporting" him from behind... he accidentally fell to the ground.

His body was like a roasted shrimp curling up. The agents around quickly aimed their guns at him. Any mishap would end the young man's life.

"I don't like having guns pointed at me."

A chilly voice echoed, and with a nod from the senior agent, the two agents who were pointing their guns at Kurumi slowly lowered their weapons.

Kurumi crossed her arms, and the young man was already "evolving." His physical qualities were remarkable, likely a result of his fitness regimen.

Her azure eyes glanced at another woman. Her forehead emitted a slight warmth. It was clear that she would also start "evolving" before long.

Fail and die, succeed and ascend.

Of course, there was also the possibility of becoming a guinea pig.

The long-unused "super soldier" plan was now under the control of a radical individual.

"Phew~ Phew~"

The sound was like broken bellows. The young man turned over, lying on his back on the ground, as if this would help lower his body temperature.

His thoughts were obvious. Even his nearsightedness had disappeared. Instead, his field of vision had widened. He could even see the delicate patterns on the ceiling thirty meters away.

Although his body felt a bit weak, an endless stream of strength poured in. Apart from being able to sense some danger from the "firearms," anyone else who tried to take him on would have to face his might.

A cold smirk appeared at the corner of his mouth. The agents' gun arms tightened slightly. Thankfully, no interns were around; otherwise, there might have been an accidental discharge.

His blue eyes continued to scan ahead.

Half of a flawlessly perfect face entered his pupils.

He narrowed his eyes. He didn't see a single flaw on the girl's face! Compared to others, even the girl with the best complexion would have a thin layer of powder on her face.

His wine-red eyes met hers, and he couldn't describe the feeling.

The young man moved his hand towards his left chest. This is... his heart skipped a beat?

"Tick, tick, tick—"

The sound of boots hitting the floor resonated, and an elderly man with stars on his shoulders entered.

At first glance, he locked onto the girl!

"Haha, I finally found you. You're William's descendant, right?"

Krazy Three looked confused, "Meow, meow, meow?"

Then she thought of the Red Queen. Was it her arrangement... or was it the main god?

The old man smiled, nodded at her, and then put on a serious expression. The aura of a general re-emerged in him.

With a commanding voice, he stared at the agents!

"Who gave you the right to detain citizens of the United States? Fury? Or that guy, Alexander Pierce?"

"Taking this girl with me, believe me, and I'll make time to talk with your director!"

His finger pressed against the agent's shoulder, causing his tall figure to tremble slightly with each touch.

Just as the old man was about to take Kurumi away, he was stopped.

The old man's eyes were sharp like an eagle, piercing into one's heart.

"General, the director didn't tell me that someone could take these three away from here."

His voice was composed, his eyes fixed ahead, not meeting the old man's gaze.

"Heh." He found it amusing. The old man's snowy white eyebrows raised slightly. "This is the first time I've heard someone refute me in fifteen years. Young man, do you know what this means?"

The agent remained silent, keeping the three individuals behind him. After a loud argument, the old man dialled Nick Fury's number and handed the phone to the agent.

Ultimately, he watched as the "Black Rabbit Girl" followed the old man.

In his office, Nick Fury massaged his temples, a mountain of files piling up on his desk. He didn't have the mood to deal with them now.
