I came closer and hugged Markus from his back, then pressed my body to his, inhaling his scent mixed with the smell of the cigarette. Markus started to smoke recently more and more, and I understand why. He's still lost in his thoughts, and the cigarette helps him to clear his mind and calm down his soul.
"Are you okay?" I whispered in his ear, hugged him tightly, and put my head on his shoulder. He raised his left hand, and placed it on my hand that was on his torso, then nodded, exhaling the smoke into the air.
"Yes, and you? Had a little sleep?" He asked with interest, then threw the cigarette out of the window, and turned to Eleanor, who was still sitting on the sofa. She was reading the diary, my father wrote, with all of his experiments and thoughts. I turned my head away, feeling the disgust in every cell of my body. That is so unfair that I wonder why life hates me so much, that gave me a mad scientist instead of an ordinary father.
