He opened his eyes and looked at me. Shock. He hasn't expected me to come and save my precious girl? Idiot.
"You're an idiot if you thought I'll allow you to get her as you got all the girls I had before," I saw his face grimace, "Oh, you thought I don't know?"
The spurs of flame started burning slowly burning his clothes, making his cold body heat. George started twisting, trying to free himself, but in vain. The more he moved, the tighter flame tied him with its spurs, and the faster his clothes were burning, turning into ash.
"Markus, Aurora is fine! He did nothing to her except some small injuries because of the fight!" Eleanor screamed, making me look at her on the opposite side of the dining room. She looked with pain and despair at George hanging in the air, and then at me. Her lips moved in a silent plead to not kill him.
"Good for him," I heard footsteps coming from the down floor to the dining room, so I moved my hand and threw George out of the room before he would be burned with fire. Then, I turned around and looked at the five guards, who just got him out of the floor and started tying him to not cause any more trouble.
"Markus…" he mumbled as if some piece of his conscience turned back to him, "Brother…"
"You're not my brother anymore, and you'll pay for what you did to my fiancée," I looked strictly at the guards holding him, "Take him to the basement. You know what to do and how to use him."
"Sure, boss," they tied him tighter and headed to the basement. Then I turned around and ran to the opposite direction of the room, where my mom and guards were helping Aurora and Luke. They had two first-aid kits and were trying to stop the blood. I squatted down and took Aurora's hand.
"I'm sorry I left you alone and allowed this to happen," when I kissed the top of her hand and started kissing her fingers, she suddenly pressed them to my lips.
"He hasn't done anything to me. I haven't allowed him to do what he wanted. He just put his greedy hands on my breasts and bit my lower lip when he started kissing me. My shield…," she stopped, then moved her hand to my cheek, "It's not a mental shield, Markus. It made a bubble, recoiling from my body, then blew out, throwing us to the opposite sides."
"Seems we have some more work to do." I said, meaning we have to study what else her shield can do, then looked over her body looking for any more wounds, and noticed some parts of the skirt of her dress is torn.
"Ah that. He didn't succeed, pushed him away with a bubble again," she caught my look, then turned my face to her, "I'm fine. Believe me."
"I do," I kneeled down and kissed her lips gently, then looked at my mom, "Need help?"
"No, I… I finished. Seems, the healing process started already," she said, then put the cotton pad with blood away and looked at Aurora. Her thin hand touched her cheek, "Poor child. I'm sorry my younger son did that to you. If I only knew he was planning to do that, I'll never let him stay alone."
"It's not your fault," Aurora said, then tried to sit down, and took a deep breath.
"What are you going to do with him?" Eleanor asked, suddenly looking at me.
"Punish. The stupid boy thought he can become me if he will sleep with the girls I once had. Unfortunately, Aurora isn't one of those stupid chickens," I looked into her deep blue eyes and smiled, "Yeah. When I was younger and not so much engaged in the mafia, I was dating some girls. And my dear brother was sleeping with them after we were done. He thought that will help him to become like me. However…"
"I did my best to stop him from that," Eleanor shook her head suddenly, "I was specifically telling George I don't like whom Markus became in an attempt to stop him from copying his brother. However, it didn't help, as I see."
"Just remember Markus, that even if you don't like that, he's your brother," Aurora said then wrapped my neck with her hands, "Can we get out of here?"
"Sure thing," I took her in my arms and stood up, then looked at mom, "Will you stay here?"
"For today yes. I want to be sure my daughter-in-law is okay, then I can go back to our house," Eleanor said, then smiled, "Can I take care of everything here to be put in order?"
"Sure. Raphael and Rick will help you when they will be back from the meeting." I went to the corridor, holding Aurora.
"Wait, what about Luke and Lewis?" she asked, straightening up in my hands.
"Don't worry. Guards already called emergency, they should help Luke. Lewis is a vampire, so he probably is okay. For now, you and your health are the most important," I went up to the second floor, then got to the elevator.
"Where are the others? I mean Kristof, Mallory, Raphael, and Rick?" she asked, wrapping my neck tighter.
"I'll tell you later," I went directly to the bedroom.
~Aurora~
"So, you came into some decision?" I turned my head from the car window to Markus. He was running with his fingers through his hair and droplets of water were flowing in different directions. It was raining heavily outside and had been two days after the incident in the dining room. After that, I was mostly sleeping and resting, and today in the morning Markus announced we're going on a trip over the biggest bloody banks that belongs to different mafia families.
"We admitted our faults in the conflict that happened between us. I was closing my life from her and not even asking her opinion, and that was what she wanted, but kept silent." He said, then took my right hand and ran with his finger over the scarf that appeared after I was thrown out with the door. It hasn't healed yet but as the doctor said it would heal with time, so to fasten it I need to put an ointment.
"Well, admitting your faults is the most important step to soother down the conflict." I squeezed his hand with mine and sighed when it immediately warmed up from the fire. "There in the storeroom it was so dark, but it was so easy to understand it wasn't you."
I told Markus in the deepest detail what happened from the time I went out of his bedroom. He wanted to know every single thing that happened there, and I can't blame him. He wanted to be sure his brother hasn't offended me, and I told him everything, even how I created that bubble unconsciously. Markus was very interested in how that bubble was created and what I felt while it was forming up, so I eagerly shared. Even, if that pervert only touched my breasts over the dress, it was still not so pleasant to remember. I wish to forget that!
The car stopped near some huge building made from glass that had a blood drop as a sign on the top of it. It was hard to not see it, and the question immediately raised in my head.
"You can't hide that huge building from humans, or can you?" I took his hand and stepped out of the car, straightened up my black silk dress skirt, then put his jacket on my shoulder in its place and grabbed his elbow. Markus led me to the main entrance.
"We don't hide them. Humans know those buildings as blood donation centers," he said, then quickly looked at the two guards in black suits and guns on their hips. The door opened automatically and we entered.
"Who owns this one?" I asked, and looked over the main hall. I imagined this building to be a little smaller and dirtier, but it was really looking like a bank. The main hall was with marble floor, walls of a peach color with golden fretwork, and stretched white ceiling making the room look bigger than it actually was. There were three sofas forming a square in the center of the hall, a coffee table in the center of the square, and a lot of plants all over the hall. Right in front of the entrance, there was a reception table where a nice-looking girl was sitting. She had black tied in ponytail hair and a very formal black dress with a V-neck.
"Me," Markus got to the girl and looked at her from head to toes. It seems he was looking if she was dressed strictly as he demanded, then turned to me, "Give me your phone, please. They are not allowed in the building."
I took my useful phone out of the purse and gave it to Markus. He took it, put my phone on the reception table, and put his own near mine as well.
"You should at least greet us, or you ate your own tongue?" he asked coldly, and it looked like the girl fell through the grown straight to hell after his words. She looked at him, and her cheeks turned pink.
" S… Sorry, Mr. Malone, I…" she looked immediately down at her own nails scratching the reception table, but Markus just waved his hand.
"Fired," he put his hand to my waist and pointed at the staircase. I looked at the girl who burst into tears, then went to the staircase, still looking around the building. It was so huge that the staircase seem to be endless, and I wondered what are on the other floors. Are they all full of laboratories or secret rooms with blood?
And if humans think it's a blood donation center, where they can donate it? It should be some suitable room for those willing to donate their blood. Moreover, if they donate blood, do they know to whom they are donating it?
Are there humans who know vampires are real? Will I meet some of them here, or their memory is erased after they gave blood?
