Mike turned to us and stared at Markus standing in front of him. The image of Markus being as pale as a dead man, with dark circles around his eyes and white-pink dry lips made its effect. Markus raised his hand and put it at Mike's shoulder, then looked at the boys.
"You wanted to catch us in a trap. But instead, you fooled yourself, watching our game and following our tricks. Now put them down." Markus's voice was commanding and strict, while Mike instead didn't even say a word. He was looking like a scared mouse, staring at the cat that caught him and is willing to eat.
"But… How?" Mike whispered with his only lips. His voice wasn't that confident when he was talking with the boys. He was scared and shocked because couldn't understand what is going on and where did he miss the appearance of Markus. Perhaps, he couldn't find he's dead or real.
