Meanwhile in the kingdom of Altik, in the Capital Barila.
The Altik kingdom just won a small victory and ended a small scale war against the Beast Empire. The Altik Kingdom is a little closer to a Empire than a Kingdom but the they never acknowledge themselves as such and would frantically refuse any change in how their "kingdom" is addressed.
This had happened due to a careless and seemingly harmless comment of a previous hero.
The hero at that time, Alan Flown gave a little remark about Empires always being an evil entity and destined for fall in books and stories about heroes and at the time Altik was an Empire. A close aid of the Emperor overheard this and told the Emperor. The emperor at the time wasn't bothered by this but just 8 months later the empire came to a quick fall after some high ranking people including the eldest son of the emperor attempted to kidnap and use the hero's party members in order to force and bend the hero's will by using them against him and after trying and failing the hero, enraged and felt betrayed started and led a revolution causing the empire to go into chaos.
This chaos wasn't ignored by the beast kingdom and quickly launched an invasion. The disarray was dealt with by the hero but it was too late the Beast empire was using a Blitzkrieg-like tactic in order to prevent having a two front war against Altik and the holy kingdom Helma but their efforts were in vain because the Holy kingdom had caught wind of what was happening and tried to do a liberation to get the Altikans to be more fond and worship their goddess Helma.
With this Catastrophic war the empire took the most damage while the holy kingdom just barely manage to fend off human cities and kept the Empire from a full on successful Invasion but the Beast Empire still got a lot of land from the war.
With their war weakening all tree of them the Demonic kingdom manage to strengthen itself and fast forward 7 years later and a Triple threat war is getting more and more possible and the three which is Altiks and Holy kingdom, Beast Empire, and the now new Demon Empire that has occupied and entire continent and enslaving the once demi human kingdom of Zercia. Because of these the Holy kingdom and Altik kingdom that was still recovering decided to once again summon the heroes. The previous hero went missing missing which is what forced the Altiks to summon them ones again.
The hero summoning has a 1 year gap. The Altik and Helma can't both summon a hero in the same year the reason for this was only known to the gods. Altik and Helma agreed for Altik to first summon a hero but when the summoning ritual was underway it failed for the first time in history and greatly shocked everyone.
*Shattering glass sounds*
*Gasp!*
"Th-this can't be!"
"What happened?"
"... What? "
"The Holy kingdom!"
At first they thought that the Holy kingdom summoned a hero before them and Ultimately breaking and denying their agreement but this notion was quickly rid off because the holy summoning needed to be done in public or it won't work.
Little did Alex know him being reincarnated here is what was causing this and this train of thought elicit a smile from the very person who reincarnated Alex.
Year 1 Month 1 Week 3 (Day 1)

And I woke up with a evil feeling skill. I felt chills and felt the feeling of darkness and what you could only describe as an evil chill. And when I checked my status I found that. It might look like a harmless and a blessing for food loving people but no doubt that the evil feeling is coming from this skill.
I have continued baiting birds because of the feeding roots skill that had leveled up. What it does when leveling is it allows me to use more of the roots and absorb more things at the same time so if combined with the feeding skill this could mean I can absorb in speeds beyond normal.
I still think about the fact that I don't feel as affected as I normally should about the whole killing people things. I just felt like a cat that just hunt a mouse and the fact that I am comparing them to mouse just proves how weirdly fast I'm recovering from that. And I don't like it, I don't want to be some killing machine without a trace of humanity in it, I mean him.
So I continued testing testing sharp branch and manage to hunt a wild pig.

I'm quite close to reaching my first Rank Up. I would probably receive the rest of a Treant's naturally acquired skill and I would lose the Incomplete part of my race and be a full pledge Treant. Maybe I could become a Dryad, I joked to myself.
"Hey Maya how's training going?"
"Twee~wet chirp" she said
"Well keep it up because I'm about to rank up and your chances of catching up to me will dwindle even lower than they already are."
After Maya's training she had started monsterization for unknown causes. I theorized it migth be because of her wanting to get stronger as a bird even though most birds won't think of that and the fact that Maya is smarter and more "humane" than other birds and her being so close to a monster that is emanating mana could also be a cause heck it could be a mix of all these but they will remain theories for now.
And It's also a good thing because with these I'm sure maya can get a lot stronger than before and would be much more help to me not that I expect her to be help at first. Hey what If Maya get's a human form? With those stupid thoughts I continued on to my life of today.
Maya POV
It was around brunch time the skies were clear and sunny and I am carrying a smaller squirrel than I intended for reasons.
I was on my way back to Alex after training. I don't really go that far but this time I went a little too far because of a squirrel that just won't let himself get eaten. Alex once said that this behavior reminds him of a dog out for blood. What is a dog though? some special local food?
Once I was close enough to see Alex he was getting pretty big and fast probably because of all the nutrients he was absorbing which is a concept that still confuses me from time to time.
He looked so out of place and suspicious that I sometimes myself find it hard to go their because it's so suspicious that I usually take a double take to make sure I know where or who I was going to.
When I saw him everything was normal except he suddenly faintly glowed golden light which a few minutes later turned dark purple.
'Is this what Rank Ups look like?' and then the light slowly subsided to reveal Alex.
'Maya I need to do some things please help me ok?' and before I could answer I suddenly felt a dark light encompass me and heard a voice.
