Year 2010, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, Philippines.
Jose P. Reyes was a 20 years old college dropout after he find out that his grades aren't high up enough to qualify for a scholarship.
With everything happening in his life going wrong, he was depressed.
In a society where people harshly judged people's academic background, Jose was experiencing hell. Even simple part time jobs asked if he was a working student, as they tend to prioritize them than a dropout like him.
"I wonder what's going to happen to me from now on?"
Jose muttered as he was roaming in the City trying to find a job he could apply. He was only living off his savings, and they're running dry.
The sweltering heat of this country doesn't bother him with his dark skin complexion. One look and you could tell his tanned skin was exposed to the UV rays for long periods of time over the years.
As he was wandering in the streets without any luck, he decided to go back at his home.
Though we called it home, it was actually just a small bedspacer single room with ₱1,000 rent for a month. It was the cheapest he could find in a city with electricity and water free.
The room he was in though looked really empty. His bed was just a mere malong, the kitchen doesn't have any cooking stove, and the toilet needed half an hour to flush the excrements.
Jose had been living in the room for a year now. Looking at his remaining money in his bank account, he calculated that he only had about half a year left. And if he decided to live frugally, maybe he could stretch it in another one whole year.
"I seriously needed a job."
Just as he was anxiously thinking deeply about his future, he hears the radio reporting about the news in the sports section.
"The only 8 Division World Champion Manny Paquiao has retired after suffering defeat of unanimous decision against..."
Jose remembered that yesterday was apparently the fight of the most famous boxing athlete in the Philippines.
All Filipinos admired him because of his rise from poverty, the honor he brought to the country, and his kind heart to help the poor. He was even elected as a Congressman and was currently a Senator because he was just that popular.
Whenever he had a fight, traffic goes down significantly and crime rate goes down to 0% in that day.
"It can't be..."
Jose couldn't believe that he lost.
Manny Paquiao was a considered to be a hero in the country and many admired him because of his accomplishments in boxing.
After he suffered devastating losses like his Mexican rival Juan Markez and an American boxer Timothy Badley, he went back to the ring again and fought an undefeated American Champion at the age of 40 and became the oldest Welterweight champion in boxing history.
Jose thought that despite his age being already out of the prime of his career, he would still pull it off.
When Jose was still a child, he would watch his fights along with his family and neighbours. It was like a festival where people cheered in front of a wide television watching the fight.
It was one of the few happy memories that remains in his mind.
"If it was me..." Jose also dreamt of becoming like a boxing athlete in the past. Beating his opponents in a fight knocking them down right and left.
However because of this country values finishing education and getting a stable job in the future, parents shut down their children's dreams and told them to study harder instead.
Woosh woosh woosh...
Jose tried shadowboxing on his own.
His movements are clumsy. The delivery of his punches are amateurish and lousy. His foot movement is really bad. Even if a person wasn't a coach, anyone could tell he sucks. He simply didn't have the talent.
And then something bad happens when he slipped on a banana peel on the floor.
Whoosh
"Argh! Fuck!"
Jose slipped and hit the back of his head on a concrete floor.
And then before he knew it, he lost consciousness.

After closing and opening the system multiple times, he had come into terms that this system seems to be real.
"It's like one of those Japanese anime or Sci Fi movies."
According to this system, he would be able to become the greatest boxer of all time! His long lost childish dream that he had given up years ago can be a reality with this system!
"With this system, I'm going to be rich and famous!"
Jose started dreaming about his possible future.
"I won't live in this small room of a stinky room anymore. I'm gonna buy cars, mansions, and other items he could only dream of. Not only that, but he was sure the pretty ladies would come coming after me! Thank God!"
Jose rejoiced and thanked the Lord. Although he wasn't a pious person, he was really thankful that he was gifted a system. With this he would turn over his life for the better!
