Chapter 3 - Last Day of a Normal Life (1)

After escaping the classroom, I put my hand to my chest and felt my heart race, noticing it's intense speed, I took some deep breaths.

"This is really unusual" I thought, walking through the hallways of my school.

While aimlessly walking, I unfortunately walked into Julian, the school's bully.

"Hey watch it!"

I merely glared at him in response, I was in no mood to deal with some wannabe alpha male.

"I don't understand why people think your so scary, your just some scrawny kid" He said, clearly trying to aggravate me

Usually I would just walk by and ignore somebody who tried to insult me. But right now, It felt like my heart that was frozen my entire life suddenly began to beat.

I looked around and noticed the principle chatting to what appeared to be inspectors at the corner of the hallway, it was obviously some bribe to cover up the issues at this school. Damn this school was corrupt.

I turned around and saw Julian walking away, causing my mouth to curl up into a smirk.

A fun fact about Julian, is that his father is the school principle. I'm assuming this gave him the bullying mentality he currently has since he doesn't get into trouble, no matter what he does.

But underneath the facade of the strong bully, existed a weak child who only wanted to be loved by his father. Rather cliche, but it's what I picked up on as I observed the interactions he had with his father. From what I can tell, they clearly don't have the typical father-son relationship, and its definitely not Julian's favourite subject.

"Hey Julian!" I yelled across the hallway, grabbing his attention.

The boy turned around in annoyance, once his attention was on me, I made my move.

"Now that I look at you, you really seem like a typical high school movie bully, I mean you even have daddy issues!" I said, clearly getting into Julian's head.

Apparently, the commotion between me and Julian begun to draw a crowd. It was quite lucky for me since it gave my an audience to embarrass this child in front of.

"Wh-What! I don't have daddy issues!" Julian shouted, getting flustered upon seeing the crowd that surrounded him.

"Hey is that really true? Does Julian actually have Daddy issues?" I heard someone in the crowd say.

This topic seemed to spread like wildfire amongst the crowd as everyone couldn't stop questioning Julian's relationship with his father.

Clearly, Julian heard this as well and started fuming. Although, I could tell that he was feeling a bit scared since his father was a sensitive subject for him.

I almost feel sorry for him.

"You really are an annoying little brat you know that?" Julian said, angrily walking towards me

Responding to his movement, I moved closer to the corner of the wall, right around the corner to where the principle was.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Don't annoying brats deserve to be disciplined?" I taunted, finally making him snap.

Julians eyes widened angrily and he charged towards me enraged, I could tell he wasn't in the best mental state right now and I could fully take advantage of that.

Judging from his posture and the positioning of his arms, he was most likely going to try tackle me and pin me down in order to beat me up in front of everyone. If possible, I'd really like to avoid that outcome, pain is a pretty annoying feeling if I'm being honest.

"Your dead!"

Before he could tackle me, I ducked to the side and avoided him, falling to the floor in the process.

Ouch, but it's much less pain than getting beaten up by Julian, so I won't complain that much.

"Julian! What are you doing!?" I heard behind me, it seemed like the principle's voice.

I turned my head around and saw Julian sitting over the principle, both sides did not look happy in the slightest.

Julian's expression was like that of a child who broke a dish in front of their parent, worried and scared. While the principle's expression was quite different, words couldn't even be used to describe how angry he looked, I'm pretty sure I could see his face flush red in anger.

Just the outcome I wanted, did Christmas come early?

"I-I can explain inspectors!" The principle pleaded, turning to the side and looking towards what seemed to be some people who were affiliated with the school safety committee.

"The principle's own son started a fight within the school grounds, what kind of run down school is this..." The inspectors said, walking away disappointed.

"Wait! Please, this is just a misunderstanding I swear!" I heard the principle say as a last act of desperation.

Once he realised that there was no way to fix this situation, the principle turned around and glared at his son, causing Julian's face to pale more than it already was.

"You little-Do you have any idea what you just cost me!?" The principle said, yelling at the boy.

All Julian could do was look towards the floor and hold back his tears.

"I've let you run freely in this school! Excusing your bullying and turning the other way when you got into fights, I've done so much for you! Is this how you repay me!?" They said, practically screaming at this point.

Julian slowly lifted his head and looked at his father, causing him to tremble in fear.

He then turned his head towards me and looked me in the eye, but this time it wasn't out of anger, but out of desperation instead.

This piece of trash really turned to the guy he tried to beat up for help, how shameless.

I merely smiled at him mockingly, causing his expression to darken. He faced his father again and suffered through the verbal abuse.

"No matter how bad your father is, you shouldn't take your frustrations out on other people" I mumbled, getting up from the floor and walking away

The crowd that surrounded us slowly disappeared as people began heading back to their school day.

Shaking off the events that just occurred, I focused up and got ready for my next class.

Suddenly a disturbing feeling erupted in my back, it was similar to that disturbing feeling I had during class, except this feeling was many times more intense.

Stumbling onto a wall and clinging onto a piece of safety rail, I tried my best to keep my breathing under control. But as time passed, it became almost impossible to keep the pain together.

"Crap, I'm losing my balance..." I mumbled, beginning to feel a really dizzy.

My legs started to wobble and slip, I could only just barely stand up. Just what was this feeling? My body feels so light that it could fly, yet it feels so heavy that it seems like I could sink into the ground.

It's like this pressure is unearthly...

I could only be grateful that nobody was around to see me in this state, luckily all the commotion with Julian drove people into class, it would be rather embarrassing if people saw me dancing like a noodle wouldn't it?

Finally losing all energy to hold myself up, I fell forward, preparing myself to land face first onto the ground. But instead of being met with a cold hard floor, I was instead welcomed into the arms of another person.

"Ashton! Focus up, you need to regain your conscious!" I heard a familiar voice say.

Heeding the words of the figure, I mustered all of my willpower into forcing my body awake, barely giving me enough energy to stand upright.

I turned my head up to see the face of the person that caught me, but instead of being greeted by a stranger, I was instead greeted by the only person on this planet that cared for me.

My father.

"Attaboy, I really wish I had some more time with you to explain things in greater detail, but I only have a bit of time to tell you what you need to know to survive" He said.

"Survive? What the heck are you talking about?" I asked, completely confused.

"Ashton... There are some things that I need to explain to you, some very important things" Dad responded, looking the other way with a sad expression

"There's a lot I haven't told you, so I know this will be a lot to take in, but I believe your gonna be mature enough to handle it"

Is he gonna talk about the birds and the bees? I'm pretty sure I already went over this in PE.

"It's time to tell you the truth about your mother"

My mother? Dad never talks about her, does she have something to do with the weird feeling I had today? Had she maybe possessed my body?

"And more importantly, the truth about your curse. Your curse of chaos"

Alright, this is actually serious.
