Chapter 1 - Bab 1

"You are very beautiful."

The maid approached me, "I'm sure the king will like you." Her hand brushed my long hair and then

Elisabeth pinned a flower decoration on my head. I felt myself pitiful. Licking my lips, I looked blankly at the round mirror. I could see the reflection of my pale face. My heart screamed for help save me, that's what I wanted to say but I couldn't run away.

From behind the door was a middle-aged woman in a black hair dress. He walked over to me and put his hands on my shoulders. Aunt Margareth tilted her head then looked at my face

"I hope you don't disappoint the villagers, you're a very lucky girl, Risa." He smiled happily. But I'm not happy because he can have mother's inheritance.

"So I don't need

For a long time my aunt hated me, she always blamed me for my parents' death, she considered me a bad luck charm.

I breathed out of my lungs. A feeling of dread came over me. As I stepped out of the house the carriage was ready in front of the house two men in robes approached me. They are called Dark bones or bone man.

Walking slowly into the carriage holding a rose.  The carriage moved slowly towards the village square as the villagers watched me as if I were a princess getting married to the King. I could not do anything - my best friend Marie one year ago became a bride. There was no further word from them whether they were alive or dead.

The carriage moved slowly towards the border of the village then stopped at a large gate on the border between the human world and the bone nation. The gate with carved human skulls facing each other. Two people in black robes were already waiting for us in front of the gate.

The two people tapped their sticks and the gate opened. As I entered I was treated to a very beautiful sight.

The horse-drawn carriage entered the territory of the skull nation. I saw from behind the carriage, houses with colorful walls of skull people mingling with ordinary people. It was both beautiful and creepy.

The carriage stopped in front of a large and luxurious palace. The robed man opened the door I bent my body my feet stepped out of the carriage. The first thing I saw was amazement I had never seen a building of this size.

"Please, your lady, come with me," said the black-robed man.

I nodded while looking at the large and beautiful building. The moment I cast my gaze at the cluster of bones fear began to run through my body. I was greeted by the skeletons in armor. Tidy up. Terrible and felt like throwing up. But I'm trying to hold back the nausea in my throat. I kept walking up the stairs while breathing slowly trying to cover my fear. in front of my eyes stood a man with a plain white mask partly to cover part of his face the man looked at me next to the king a beautiful woman in a beautiful black dress with loose black hair.

"Welcome to the land of bones," said the old man, he greeted me warmly.

"Your Majesty Cain," the old man approached the king while bowing respectfully.

"Take him to the western palace." replied the king in a cold voice.

"Yes, Your Majesty." replied the old man backing away as he turned towards me. "Miss please follow me." He bowed respectfully to me. I nodded and walked after the old man.

The king glanced at me although he didn't say a word.

As I stepped onto the altar. I squeezed my hands together. Walking straight and not turning right was something I did to ward off my fear. My heart was beating fast. Hoping all of this is a dream.

The man with a half-skull face was waiting for me in front of the altar.

Cain was waiting for me with the bone priest. I approached him. We faced each other. As the priest said the wedding vows.

"I do." The king replied with a cold face. His eyes did not look at me.

I answered. "I do.

He looked surprised by my words. "Did I hear you wrong?" He growled softly.

After a short ceremony. There was no feast because I wasn't from the bone nation, just an ordinary human made into a concubine. According to the rules the wedding feast is only for the bone nobility.

"Please come with me," the maid said, catching a glimpse of the woman from my village. I recognized her as Mari. "Are you Mari?" I said, approaching the maid wearing gray clothes. She didn't speak, just looked down. She led me to the north corridor.

The maid opened the door. When I entered how luxurious this room was.

Mari stopped her steps

"If there's anything you can call me," Mari said.

I tried to stop her from leaving. "What happened to you," I asked.

"I can't tell you for sure you have to be careful with Saira," Marie whispered as she turned around while Cain was standing right behind Mari's back. "If you'll excuse me," Marie bowed her head and left the room.

I turned around p
