Chapter 63 - High X Voltage

AN: So I am writing this author note before actually writing the chapter... So I would like to say sorry for not uploading yesterday as I was quite busy and when I got everything done that I needed I was mentally drained and did not have it in me to write anything... So I am going to try to write this chapter and get it out today! Not only that but I will try to do a double-length chapter for you guys as we finish up the first fight of the arc (hopefully).

Addition to Author's note: So what you just read was a fucking lie... I ended up not getting enough time to finish the chapter at a reasonable time yesterday as I was out for dinner and didn't get back till very late. Anyways, I finished up the chapter, and while not exactly double length it's close enough... I also think the combat scenes have improved overall though in comparison to whatever you would call the Hisoka encounter or Gon fight at the Hunter exams that I wrote a while ago.

"Wow… first you were not even going to give us a burial and now you're going to desecrate our bodies… have some respect for the dead, even my friends know to bring a shovel to a fight when they have the intent to kill" Stalling for even a fraction of a second more, I allowed Gon to ready himself as he started to expel his own aura, Opting to use Ren for its explosive power rather than the purely defensive Ten.

"The hell are you on about."

*Chuckle* With a bit of sweat trickling down my neck due to the momentous aura leaking out of Nobunaga, I began to release my own aura in turn. Slowly covering my hands in a gel-like layer of my Hatsu whilst simultaneously flaring my Ten, as I wasn't quite at the level to use either Ken, Ko, or afford Ren while using my Hatsu.

Pushing forward off the uneven brick road, I decided to take the frontal position with Gon behind me. Closing the distance between me and Nobunaga, I sent a strong hook with my left while keeping my left arm up in front of my face. Which was quickly intercepted with a sword strike aimed right below my wrist. Subsequently, while my arm wasn't damaged it knocked it out of position leaving me open to a follow-up attack.

*skid* sliding back a bit on my heels while releasing a sigh of relief under my breath, I rubbed my neck that I barely managed to cover in my Hatsu in time. Moving the aura on my neck filled with stored energy, I connected with the aura coating my hands. All the while, I never kept my eyes off Nobunaga who stood back with his sword resting on his shoulder with an amused smile on his face.

"Hmm… not bad at all! I guess this won't be as boring as I thought." once again lifting his sword, he bolted towards the two of us at a nearly imperceptible speed. In turn, I pushed forward to regain more ground as Gon was now in front of me after I was launched backward.

*BOOM* using the stored momentum from the previous two attacks I blasted myself into Nobunaga like a human bullet. Sending a decently powerful blow his way, though it was once again countered. But unlike last time, I was not met with another attack that could be stored for later but rather redirected mitigating the amount of kinetic energy I could store.

Following up with another punch, I began to get into a rhythm with my opponent. Sure, I could tell he was going easy on me the whole time but it was what I needed right now. Currently, he was managing to fend off me and Gon with ease. Yet, with the amount of Aura he was burning just to keep up this field of En surrounding us.

However, as the fight went on it became clear that we were at a huge disadvantage. Currently, I could only really defend while Gon was the main attacker on our side. The problem was I could not provide Gon with a good opening. Instead, Nobunaga could just crush any attempt with a flick of his sword as Gon had no way to block the blade and could only stop his attack and dodge.

*Clang* rapidly warping my Hatsu to deflect and block blows at different locations at my body. Regularly releasing bursts of energy-enhanced attacks as storing the energy too long was taxing on my aura.

After tanking a few more blows without releasing the stockpile I was building, I used the stored energy in the manner of a concussive blast instead of enhancing my strikes. Sending the surprised swordsman into the side of the building and through the wall creating a plume of smoke that obscured our sight.

"Shit." Not foreseeing the disadvantage I was at now, I charged into the house while coating the front half of my upper body in my Hatsu.

*CHINK* taking a hit to my abdomen that was immensely stronger than any of the previous blows I continued to push forward. Normally I would have been blown back by such attacks but by putting in the effort to increase the absorption rate I could give a middle finger to Newton's third law.

Exiting the dust cloud with Gon a few steps behind me, we found ourselves in a gutted and abandoned apartment building with Nobunaga who was coated in dust and looked pissed off. Looking around the room for a moment I found what I was looking for and betting on when I threw him into this building, an electrical socket.

*BAM!* getting thrown through the wall by another sword strike while I was not focused enough to regulate the energy that propelled me through a couple of rooms in the complex before I Came to a stop again. Getting up off the ground, I charged back through the numerous holes I left in the complex to help out Gon. Entering the initial room we were in, I found another hole in the wall opposite where I came from. Assuming it was Gon who made the hole I ran through the trail of broken-into rooms following the deafening crashes and sounds of destruction.

"Gah!" Entering the room the two were located in, I saw Gon being struck with the blunt side of Nobunaga's sword as he fell to the ground unconscious. Turning to me, Nobunaga sent a swift sword strike at the pit of my elbow. Thankfully, by readjusting my arm a bit I was able to block the strike with my aura. Yet, I wasn't able to fine-tune the dispersion, and neither could I store the energy due to it being more demanding on my control. Making me automatically disperse all extra energy including any I had previously stored via crashing through multiple walls shoot into the ground creating a decently-sized crater.

"Ehh that's how it is…? That's kind of disappointing, your Hatsu I mean. It's creating that pink aura that you harden and channel attacks through it… but it looks like you cannot store or direct attacks if you are too preoccupied." Holding Gon by the collar of his jacket, He stood undisturbed as debris from the crumbling complex fell around him, never getting closer than a foot or two away from him. Unlike myself, who was pelted with numerous large concrete slabs and debris that would have crushed me if not for my Hatsu. Though instead of being crushed I was buried under the various rubble that fell on me.

"What? We are explaining all of our moves like it's some sort of Shonen Anime now? Should I start some long monologue about the power of friendship and how we will beat you while we're at it?" expelling some of the stored energy all around me, I pushed away all the rubble and debris that buried me for a moment after I collapsed a decent portion of the building.

"Tch! Hell no, I'm just annoyed I wasn't able to guess what your Hatsu was right away! You can usually tell these things after a while of fighting Nen users." Circling him while he was busy talking I moved towards a certain area in the collapsed crater. Specifically, the deepest part of the crater where I could spot a few sparks sputtering.

'Haha, you fool! Everything has totally been going to plan!... or something like that.' thanking my luck at the fact that the crater was deep enough to expose the electrical lines running under the building I revised my plans from the initial wall outlet as I stood next to the exposed wires. Waiting for him to make the move I turned my aura malleable for a moment leaving me exposed to attacks while I covered my arms once again as I left a small strand of aura to go up my arm and down my coat as it trailed all the way down into my pant leg.

"Well, thats rough buddy… now can we please continue trying to kill each other?" dialing up my focus to the max, I anticipated the next attack. Right now, If I did not harden my Hatsu in time and he attacked I was dead and if my trick doesn't work then I have no real way of getting out of this alive.

*thud* dropping Gon to the ground he put both of his hands on his sword as he readied a final attack as he stood at the ledge of the crater looking down on me.

"!!!" looking at his figure pouncing down towards me I outstretched my aura-coated arm as I reached out toward his blade. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as my surroundings began to disappear as I focused entirely on the blade that was trying to take my life.

Watching as it tried to curve around and under my outstretched arm and attack my exposed torso. Seeing that, I began to shift my arm's trajectory as I looked at the slow movements of my hand and his blade. Eventually, the two were on course to meet each other, seeing this I tried to complete my objective and grasp the blade. Unfortunately, either my inexperience with battle or his mastery of the sword allowed him to slightly alter the course of the blade once again.

Looking on in slow motion as the blade began to cleanly cut through my wrist I couldn't do anything about it because I didn't react fast enough. Mentally gritting my teeth I decided to sacrifice my hand as I began to cover his blade in my Hatsu's aura before hardening as soon as my hand began to fall to the ground.

*ZZzzTTtzt!* and as soon as my aura hardened the small strand connecting to the exposed electric lines acted as a superconductor as instantly the entire building's electricity was sent through my aura that I fashioned with 100% conductivity to channel into his blade and towards him in general. Keeping the current going for as long as I could sustain the aura drain of my highly conductive construct without passing from exhaustion. I eventually let the construct dissipate as I watched his body fall limply to the ground.

*pant* *pant* "El Thor motherfucker! Because I guess we are doing that shonen shit… wait this is a JoJo's crossover… Thunder cross split attack hehehe" In a state of near delirium, I looked down at my bleeding stump my severed hand that was laying on the floor. Quickly using a small amount of Hatsu aura as I retracted my Ten I blocked the wound from bleeding and used my free hand to pocket my bleeding hand. Turning around and with a hazy mind, I forced myself to stagger over to Gon and pick up the passed-out boy as I slung over my shoulder with a lot of effort in my exhausted and amputated state as I made my way out of the conveniently made hole in the wall that led onto the street.
