A month has passed by once again.
Out of the 300 Students that were set out to train, only 120 students remained.
The other 180 students who failed were expelled.
Some of the nobles who were expelled made a ruckus as they couldn't believe that they were going to be expelled but they were disposed of quickly.
On the last day of the training, Ms. Carol thanked us and wished us good luck in the future.
We bowed to her and thanked her for the teachings.
I can now control my Aura a bit better and had a 60% chance to successfully perform a Greater Slash whenever I attempt to do it, while Mellissa on the other hand can perfectly execute one every time she wants to.
The next day, I entered the classroom after a month and sat in the same seat as before.
Lawrence then entered not so long after and sat right next to me.
I look at Lawrence and I noticed that he was gaining some muscles and was in better shape than before.
"What color is your Aura?" I ask Lawrence out of boredom.
"Yellow" He replied to me with clear proudness in his voice
I then turn to him with complete shock on my face.
"Wow, you're pretty fucking strong" I reply to him.
"Thank you, are you jealous?"
"Kind of, but hey that just means I have to train a little bit harder"
Ms. Melinda then enters the classroom
The sound of students talking with each other suddenly stops.
"Alright, currently in our classroom there is 1 Red Aura, 11 Yellow, 56 Green, and 112 Grey,"
"Based on the color of your Aura and the proficiency of your skills observed in the Aura Chamber, we have compiled a ranking list, the top 5 are"
Rank 1 - Jack Osborne
Rank 2 - Mellissa Luna
Rank 3 - Lyla Eveque
Rank 4 - Ray Vespertine
Rank 5 - Madison Silverheart
One of the students then raised her hand,
"Yes?"
The student then stood up
"Ma'am, didn't you say the ranking is based on the color of the Aura,?"
I look at the one who asked the question,
She had blue hair, and brown eyes, and had a similar physique to Lyla
She was Madison Silverheart,
"Yes, and the proficiency of skills, because Mellissa may only have green Aura, but her ability to control her Aura extremely well was the sole reason she was ranked 2nd, understood?"
"Un-understood Ma'am" The blue-haired girl blushes out of embarrassment then quickly sits down.
The class then continued as Ms. Melinda teaches us more about Aura, I didn't pay that much attention because most of the thing that was being taught, I already know the gist about thanks to me spending a lot of time reading in the Library.
I rest my head not even bothering to listen anymore and out of boredom, I fell asleep.
I awoke to the sound of bells ringing and see that the class is finally over.
Most of the students rush outside the classroom to see their respective ranks.
Lawrence and I do the same shortly after.
I look to the board where the ranking was listed and scan for my name
After a bit of reading, I finally found my name on the board
"Kayn - Rank 42"
"Nice," I thought to myself
I then look for Lawrence's name on the board and after a bit more reading I successfully find it.
"Lawrence - Rank 19"
"Wow, ~~"
Genuine admiration for Lawrence could be seen on my face as I look at him.
I pat him on the back twice as he looks at the board in disbelief.
I then make my way back to our room,
I enter our room and quickly lie down on the bottom bed to sleep.
Looking at the board earlier I noticed that the Academy didn't put my last name on the board, which meant that for some reason they still don't know that I am a noble.
"I don't really care that much though," I say as I close my eyes and fall asleep right after.
The next day, I got inside the classroom earlier than I usually do.
I look around the class and see that I was the only one still there.
I rest my head on the table and decided to sleep for a bit.
I awoke to someone shaking me to force me to wake up.
I look to the side it was Lawrence.
"Ms. Melinda is already here, wake up"
"Oh?" I reply to him with drool on my face.
I quickly clean my face and regain my posture.
"I know some of you guys feel that you deserve a higher rank in the ranking"
Some of the students in the class nod.
"That is why we will have an examination next week, you guys will be grouped into 5 and be tasked with getting a crest of the academy in the mountains of yore.
The Mountains of Yore is a place near the Capital of Yean, It is full of dense forests and tall mountains.
"Here are your group mates"
Ms. Melinda then group us into 5, I didn't care about the other people I was just waiting for my name to be called.
"Mellissa Luna, Warren , Kyle Glen , Chris ,and Kayn"
"Looks like I'm grouped up with that sonofabitch Kyle," I thought to myself.
"The trip will be done by an airship, so for one week, I highly recommend training your Aura because there will be monsters in the mountains, albeit they are only E-Ranked, do not underestimate them, do not worry we will be supervising you guys in the shadow, to make sure some of you guys won't suffer severe injuries."
I look at the students and most of them are excited particularly the nobles, I guess they didn't like it very much when Lawrence got a higher ranking than them.
"I can't wait," I thought to myself.
