The fear in Lucian grew as he saw the frame of fire coming from Jane and he trembled. He stared at Mabel again and closed his eyes.
"One! Two!" Jane called. Lucian opened his eyes and stared at her.
"Okay, I will promise," he pleaded. Jane ignored him and raised her hands toward Mabel. Lucian looked at her hand and he saw a pistol pointing toward Mabel. He raises an eyebrow and shocks his head.
"Please, Jane!" he screamed out.
"Three! Four!" Jane screamed out as one of his eyes was on Mabel and the other was gazing at Lucian. She was smiling inwardly that she was able to scare him although he had no chance since she was talking to only his spirit.
"I promise to…" he said but a voice halted him.
"Stop! Lucian, don't make a promise you can't fulfill," a female voice said and they turned around to see who it was. "Clara!" Lucian called faintly.
