Today Alteria street is bustling with festive mood. Everybody are preparing for the Coming of Age Ceremony that gonna take place in the Cathedral today.
Every youth in Midgrad are going to take this ceremony. Whenever you are a noble, merchant, peasant, even a slave. At the age of 15 everybody going to take this ceremony.
Ceremony where by the blessing of goddess LUNA, a fragment of our soul is gonna take form in the shape of a beast. Those beast are called Soul Beast, a blessing of goddess LUNA to protect humankind from monster and demon.
A stronger Soul Beast owner is scouted to join the Army, meanwhile and weak Soul Beast owner become a target of bullying. By becoming a strong Soul Beast owner, even a slave can become a hero.
"Welcome my child."
As a group of teenager march into the Cathedral, a clergy man welcome them. With a long white robe in his back, he open his hand to welcome those teenager.
"By the blessing of Goddess Luna, today, all of you going to receive the blessing into your soul. The blessing to protect ourselves from the darkness and evil."
"Who's he ?" Llana whisper to Arthur beside her.
"That's bishop Lukas, he's one of the people that participate in the battle of Norththree with Gramps. They say his Soul Beast is not in the 4 element, and he can heal wound of the knight in the battlefield."
"Thousand of year ago goddess LUNA create this world, her tear fill the ocean and from her breath the wind blew across the world. By the grace of Goddess Luna human kind was given knowledge, and with those knowledge human thrive, and create many kingdom in the land of Midgard. One of those kingdom is Alteria."
As Bishop Lukas descend the staircase, other clergyman preparing the altar in front of them.
"Every kingdom life in peace and harmony until the third King of Alteria, give birth to a twin. Those twin is Adalhard and Baldwin. While Adalhard is gentle and kind, Baldwin is strong and charming. In process of picking the the fourth King of Alteria, the Third King know that if Adalhard become a king and Baldwin supporting him, Kingdom of Alteria while continue to prosper. As the Adalhard become the king, jealousy grow in Baldwin heart. Baldwin revolt the Kingdom of Alteria, where many blood spill, cry of an orphan hearded across the kingdom. King Adalhard condemn Baldwin and banish him from the Kingdom of Alteria."
"I'm already know about that story." yawn Lllana, as that the story that have been told many time before she going to sleep by his Grandma.
"Ssttt Llana, you gonna get us in trouble." Arthur trying to shush Llana.
"As he leave the Kingdom of Alteria, Baldwin curse King Adalhard that he will back and take revenge on him. In his way of revenge Baldwin become a servant of God Sol, God of the Underworld. With his new power Baldwin command an army of monster to attack Alteria. As the Knight of Alteria didn't stand a chance against those monster, Kings Adalhard pray to Goddess Luna for her bless to stand against Baldwin army. By her mercy, a light from the heaven shone above the King, his soul shine bright and from the light his soul take shape of a beast that become his sword and shield to protect the kingdom from the army of monster."
Bishop Lukas end his sermon, he stand in front of the altar, facing all those teenager.
"As descendants of King Adalhard, we were given the task to protecting the kingdom of Adalhard. And now I asked all of you as the young blood of Altertia, to take my hand and protect our kingdom from the forces of evil!"
"WOOOAAAHHHHH!!!"
As they shout out their cry of courage. And with those the Coming of Age Ceremony take places. One by one those youth go to the center of the altar, as the altar floor glow, a light shine from the chest, a ball of light fly outside of them and little by little taking cover into the shape of a beast.
Every Soul Beast in a reflection of his owner personality and traits. Because of that, your Soul Beast affecting every career and path that those people have to take.
"WOAHHHH!!!" the crowd amazed by the Giant Soul Beast in the size of a house. A Soul Beast that big must be strong.
"Geogre Thorndall, a Giant Earth Elephant." says those clergyman assisting the ceremony.
At the center of the altar, a big man standing, his face make you wonder if he the same 15 years old as the other participant.
"Next Llana Silvermoure."
"Pray for me Arthur!!!" as she running to the altar.
"Just stand at the center of the Altar." one of the clergyman point where Llana have to stand.
As the altar glow and the light shine, Llana soul begin to taking shape. But this time it's not like the other before him. The light is bright and at the same time mesmerizing. As the light faded, a large lion stand beside Llana and pressing his head gently to Llana.
"Woaahhh!!! Your mane is so fluffyy!!!" Shout Llana as she bury her face in those mane.
"......ah! Llana Silvermoure, Large Wind Lion." look like those clergyman at lost of word because of Llana soul.
"Arthur! Arthur! Look! Look! My Soul Beast is so fluffy!!!"
"Last one, Arthur Pendragon."
At last Arthur name, as he walking to the altar many whisper can be heard from crowd.
"Looks, that the last blood of house Pendragon."
"Just because his grandpa, do he think he can become big shoot."
"A fallen noble, an orphan, I'm sure he only have a weak Soul Beast."
With eyes looking forward those sound and whisper is not sway his conviction to become a Knight. All those blood, sweat, and tear of 10 years, is make him sure that whatever inside of his soul is a strong Soul Beast.
As he stand at the center of altar, he close his eyes and take a deep breath. His mind remembering all those time he was with Grandpa.
"Gramps, I'm going become like you. Goddess Luna please give me your blessing to pursue my dream, to become your fang, your sword, and your shield." Pray Arthur in his silence.
As the altar glow, his body shine. A light more bright than Llana, a light so blinding. Everyone fall silent as the light envelope the building.
"Arthur...." Llana standing beside his Soul Beast, praying for Arthur.
The light is slowly faded. As soon as the light is gone, all eyes is focused on the altar.
At the center of the altar, Arthur frozen stand still, all of his body is tremble. He slowly turn his head to Llana, as soon their eyes meet, Arthur expression full of desperation, his lips tremble, as he trying to hold his tear back. Llana can only cover his mouth trying not to let out a cry, as tear fall at her cheek.
The hall is silent. Not anyone let out any sound.
Arthur knee grow weak as he fall in his knee at the center of altar, all of the dream shatter. Is he ignored by Goddess Luna.
At the center of the altar, only Arthur kneel. Not a single Soul Beast can be seen, not a single that soul.
Bishop Lukas word break the silent hall.
"....ARTHUR PENDRAGON..... SOULLESS....."
