Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - Negotiations

A few days after the meeting with my mother, I met the personnel she picked for me.

All of them were lined up, as I commanded. I organized them per category of their work. First, I asked the 3 chefs aside and the restaurant personnel. It appears that the three chefs were the assistant chefs within the imperial kitchen and the other staff were low-level servants.

Now, I told the painters the basic things they needed to do. I asked them who was the most beautiful lady in the capital that has no backing or that came from a normal family.

They answered and told me 10 ladies who were qualified for the requirements I needed and asked them to get them and meet me. The three painters went out as soon as I finished telling them what to do.

For the remaining personnel, I introduced the slave contract to them. Their faces immediately turned ugly. I know. They have no power to negotiate so I know how they felt when I told them about it.

I immediately followed up on why I needed them to sign slave contracts. Their faces were still quite ugly from it, but it subsided for quite some time. I offered them higher salaries. An offer they can't refuse.

The only thing they can do is agree. It appears my mother warned them about disobedience. Heh… Mother... You're such a great mother. I love you!

I must tell her that later.

Thus, they signed the contracts and dismissed them for a later meeting. I went to my mother's room for further discussion so when I arrived, I saw minister Renkin.

"Your highness." Minister Renkin bowed.

"Oh, minister Renkin, good to see you! How are you?" I asked.

"Oh.. I'm good! I'm good! Thank you for asking your highness." Renkin replied with a full of smile.

My mother seems happy too, well, etiquette is a good thing to practice. Makes people think they matter and recognized.

"Oh, right, mother, I'm here for that thing." I said.

My mother smiled at me and just nodded. Minister Renkin seems aware of the situation and didn't pry about it. He left immediately.

"Does he know?" I asked my mother.

"Oh, he knows, your father knows, what can we do? He monitors you; you know. But it's for your sake, so don't worry." My mother answered.

Well, we're on the same team and my parents love me and only want the best for me so it's okay. I hope minister Renkin will not fight me in the future though.

I looked into my mother's beautiful eyes and said, "So mother.. here's how I want to do the business.."
