"Just a merchant". She smiled humbly. "You've both helped my experiments today, so I'll let you off if you swear not to bother Mr. Sebastian again".
The older wolf gritted his teeth in disdain.
"You're crazy!". Jake spoke up. "Old man Kraine has to pay back what he owes boss and you have the guts to step into Lapis, witch?". He attempted to change into a wolf but due to his blood being frozen in place, his body began to rip apart. "Ughh!".
"Be quiet, Jake". His eyes narrowed at Vanessa. "I don't think this woman is merely a witch".
"But big brother!".
Vanessa only watched them converse between themselves, although she could feel her grip on them slowly waning. If they discovered she didn't have the energy to hold the anymore, they'd surely attack her!
"Come here". She gestured to Jake with a finger as his limbs were covered in cuts.
