[Margaret's Perspective]
Elizabeth's condition had improved a lot compared to yesterday, at least her little face didn't look as pale and frightening as it did last night.
I walked forward and took the wheelchair from the nurse, saying gently, "Others are not allowed to come and go inside, you all may leave first, I will make sure Elizabeth is safely returned later."
The doctor and nurses who came with Elizabeth, of course, wouldn't question my command. They nodded respectfully, answered with a 'yes,' and then left, leaving only Elizabeth, my maid Ruth, and me outside the door.
"Let's go inside," I said to Elizabeth in a warm tone.
Elizabeth nodded her head, staring straight at the door that had been opened from inside.
The air conditioning in the research facility was a bit low, and I glanced at the clothes on Elizabeth, asking, "Are you cold? Should I get you a shawl?"
