[Margaret's Perspective]
At that moment, Henry put down the teacup he was holding and stood up to press down Levi's gun-wielding hand. He spoke lazily, "I said this woman won't budge, hard or soft. Now do you believe me?"
As he talked, he slightly squinted his eyes and glanced at Brand behind me, then laughed lightly and continued, "This boy can't die now. Put away your gun, Levi!"
I didn't know what was going through Henry's mind, but I felt relieved when I heard him say those words.
Levi indeed feared Donald and Burton but I wasn't sure he wouldn't kill Brand in a fit of impulse, or shoot me!
Either of these two situations, should they occur, were something I couldn't accept at this moment.
Levi's hand slowly lowered, while my back broke into a cold sweat, and Brand even ungracefully collapsed on the sofa behind.
