Austin's eyes were on Licia, but his words were directed at Lillian.
Lillian hadn't expected Austin to still be trying to drive her away and sharply refused, "I won't! Why do you still want to push me out now? I'm your only sister, and I won't let anyone hurt you on purpose!"
"Even if he is the most revered being in the entire werewolf world, that's not acceptable! We need a reasonable and lawful explanation and investigation, not just his personal say-so!"
Lillian, growing increasingly defiant as she spoke, took a step forward in her high heels, tilting her head up to challenge me, "What evidence do you have that my brother did something wrong? Bring out your evidence now, and we can confront it right here on the spot!"
"You and my brother grew up together; I want to see if the friendship you've shared over so many years is going to be completely exhausted today. Is it really worth it for some gossip?"
