Chapter 5 - How It All Began

It was the first day of a new school year and for one Fred and George Weasley it was the first day of their first year at Hogwarts. They had no clue, the mischievous duo, that this day would mark the day they met their best friends, partners in crime, and future brides as they stepped onto the King's Cross Station platform. They had just charged through the wall to reach the infamous platform 9 ¾ so they could get on the train to go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the sight they were greeted with wasn't the same sight they had seen every other time they had come to drop of their brothers to go to school. No, this time the station was in utter chaos as the brothers stood there with Percy and Charlie as they all stared in utter shock at everything going down. They had been to the station every time they had gone to drop off Bill, Charlie, and eventually Percy for the famous ride that took young witches and wizards to the school known as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but the station had never looked this crazy before. The total chaos had the boys and their parents staring stunned with the rest of the passengers and their parents while the train staff was busy trying to put themselves out from a small fire or detach themselves from the sides of the train. They were also helping other parents who had been caught in the mix up while dealing with the angry parents from those students who were caught up in the chaos and had gotten hurt. This drew out a concerned breath from Molly as she gripped onto her twins with a look of worry in her features, Arthur desperately looking around for someone to talk to see what had happened to the staff and customers around them. When they spotted someone, they flagged down the staff hand as best they could with nervous eyes.

"Sir! Sir! Excuse me!" Molly called which caught the man's attention, causing him to dash over the family of six present with worried eyes. He clearly was hoping the others were okay and once he saw no injuries on them he calmed down just a bit more than he was before. Of course he was still hesitant and willing to hear what the others had to say to him, even if it was harsh words toward him without provocation.

"What seems to be going on here sir? Why are people aflame or stuck to the side of the train?" She asked him, making his look of worry deepen and sink into his features more. It was clear that whatever was going on wasn't expected and might get worse if not handled properly.

"A pair of witches lost control of their magic ma'am. They got too excited and they went off without any real warning. We're trying to find them, but the Ministry has sent men and we want to catch them before they do. It was an honest accident and they're in first year uniforms so they can't have much in any way of training from the school or their home. Please, help us find them before the Ministry's Aurors do!" The man explained, earning a small nod from Molly who's worry only grew worse. She thanked the man as he ran off, continuing to look around for the girls and the family saw fit to join them. They began their looking, but it didn't take them long to see something nothing could have prepared them for. Right there, in front of their very eyes, two girls dashed by them as a pair of magic officials were chasing after them. Fred and George's eyes went wide as they took in the sight, trying to comprehend what was happening as they saw the girls go by. One was clutching onto the other as they were running around, luggage nowhere in sight and wands clutched tight in their free hands. Naturally, with their mother being the kind woman she was, she grabbed the girls by the wrist and pulled them toward them with the help of her husband. They were sure these were the girls the Ministry men were after, but as if they were acting on an instinct latten within them the family had pulled them in close and Molly held tight to them. This caused the Ministry officials, a pair of men in proper Auror robes, to stop where they were and look the family over.

"Weasley, hand them over now. Those girls are being detained till further notice. They've caused quite the disturbance and have used magic in a way they should know much better from doing so." One man demanded, looking at Arther with stern eyes who straightened up and gripped onto the girls with a firm hand. This man had deep black hair and piercing hazel eyes, pairing it rather well with his peach pale skin which had a slightly pink-orange undertone to it. The man next to him was a blonde with dark brown eyes, but his tanned hands were hiding away in his pocket as he clutched onto his wand, keeping his eyes on the family with a nervous gleam in them as he did so. Fred and George did the same, gripping onto the girls firmly while Percy and Charlie quickly dipped away to find a member of the train staff as fast as they could before things got more out of hand than they had already. They didn't want these girls, these girls who were no older than the twins and therefore probably knew nothing about their true magical capabilities, get thrown into a juvenile detention center or end up losing their freshly obtained wands over something so inconceivable as losing control of such important magic that is always coursing through them if they had to guess.

"No bloody way will we do such a thing." Molly huffed, earning a glare from the two men which made Fred and George stand in front of their mother and the two girls with anger burning bright in their eyes. They clearly weren't about to let the girls be targeted by the Ministry's goons just because of an accident and they DEFINITELY weren't about to let the men try to intimidate their mother just because they weren't turning over these supposedly innocent girls.

"You're acting as though they did everything on purpose, but we know that's not true. Right, mom?!" Fred huffed out, keeping one girl firmly tucked behind him while George did the same to the other. Their mother kept a firm grip on the girls' shoulders, nodding her head in complete agreement as she glared up at the two men.

"Yes, yes they are acting like that, aren't they dear? But, don't worry, we won't be letting them get away with this." Molly growled out with a huff, a deeply protective look in her eyes as she gave the two men a firm glare with anger burning deep inside the mother's eyes.

"We heard the story of what happened from the train staff. Clearly these two lovely ladies lost control of the complex magic running through their veins. If it went off from their emotions without a spell being cast, they must be quite strong and therefore need the school's help even more." Molly pointed out, glaring alongside her sons which made the two men flinch back and a bit of fear course through their veins. Arthur moved his hand to his wife's shoulder, nodding in agreement with her as he looked at them with his own anger burning bright.

"Y-Yes. W-Well w-with the scene they've caused and s-set backs that are now occurring, y-you can't be the ones to decide that. That's up to the train staff." The other male retorted, gripping his partner's shoulder to try and keep them both brave in front of these people glaring at them. It was clear they were new Aurors and therefore were still a little green around the gills when it came to confrontation.

"And we won't be pressing charges on these poor girls." A voice called, gaining the attention of the Aurors and by extension the Weasley's and the girls they were protecting with all of their might without getting into a fit. There stood the conductor with Charlie and Percy, the three men glaring at the two Aurors. None of them were glaring as hard as the conductor was though, his buff arms crossed firmly over his chest as he did so.

"As Mrs. Weasley stated, this was a freak accident. The two girls, as I was informed of with a note by their parents, have very strong natural elemental magic running through their veins from a family inheritance and as part of how their families make a living. We WON'T be pressing any charges and will be gladly escorting them to school instead." He growled, pulling two notes from his pocket and shoving them into the hands of the stunned Aurors. The conductor walked toward the rest of the Weasley clan, Percy and Charlie beside him as he smiled at Molly and her family alongside the two girls who the twins finally stepped out of the way of. He leaned down slightly to the girls level, smiling at them as best he could as he looked them over with a smile.

"I'm terribly sorry if those mean Aurors frightened you any. I hope you both are alright." He murmured, looking them both over up and down which gave the boys and the rest of the family the chance to look them over as well. They were both about the same height, but that's where the similarities in their appearances ended and the differences began really. One had long wavy hair which faded out from orange at the roots to red in the middle and purpled at the end portion of their hair, having ruby red eyes and tan skin alongside being the girls uniform properly and being a bit heavier than the other girl. Her friend, cousin, or sister on the other hand looked completely different from the girl who's hand she was still clutching onto. She had the same long wavy hair type, but her's was in a color scheme that started off yellow at the roots then faded out to green in the middle and bright blue at the end portion with matching emerald green eyes. She on the other hand also had much paler skin and was wearing what looked like the boys uniform which hid her more slender frame rather well.

"W-Well, what about the other citizens and such who got just as caught up in as your staff did?! Surely they have a say in the matter of whether or not these poor young ladies get charged!" The more bold Auror barked, earning a stern glare from everyone once more before the conductor looked over his shoulder and spoke to them.

"No, they won't be either. None of them are angry at the girls for something they can't truly control yet. Now, be on your way or I will escort you out MYSELF." The conductor huffs out, glaring at the two men who stood frozen to their spots as the conductor turned back to the two girls with a worried smile one his lips.

" Are you two alright? Is there anything I can get you two to make this all better?" The conductor asked, earning a small head shake from both of the girls with a small sigh.

"W-We're fine sir. Th-Thank you for not pressing charges. I-I'm sorry for the trouble my cousin and I caused." The warmer toned girl murmured out, but it was clear as day that her now revealed cousin was fuming at the mere idea of having to apologize to the men. Molly was clearly about to speak and defend them, knowing the girls had every right to feel their feelings whatever they might have been, but the same warmer toned girl spoke once more.

"W-We were just so excited to see THE Hogwarts express that we couldn't control our magic. W-We're so sorry." She murmured out with a soft sniffle, making the Aurors flinch back in worry that they had honestly scared the girls and would be told off by the Ministry for it as the conductor turned and glared back at them. This earned a hidden yet all too knowing grin from her cousin who did her best to look as if she was stifling back tears by rubbing one of her eyes with her wand holding hand. This made the glare even worse as the conductor straightened up and patted their heads before turning to the Aurors with anger in his eyes.

"It's alright ladies. It's nothing to worry your pretty little heads over. I'll put in a report with the Ministry about what REALLY happened here and request better Aurors here at the station from now on." He huffed before grabbing the two men by their robes and dragging them off after bidding them all a fond farewell. This earned a collective sigh from the group who all turned to face each other before Molly spoke with a small smile on her lips, looking down at the two girls with a smile as the twins stood beside them.

"Well…I'm glad that's all settled then. Now, dearies, where are your parents? We wouldn't want them to stay worried about seeing you off on your first day at Hogwarts." She pointed out with a smile, pointing to their ties before she began looking around for anyone that even remotely resembled the two girls. As she did this Arthur was writing a note to the Ministry, letting them know what to expect to hear from the Auror's and what they should receive from the train conductor on a piece of parchment before summoning his patronus and sending it off to the head of the department and Ministry with a sigh. This idea of being with their parents brought a chuckle out from the two girls who were both shaking their heads, earning a curious look out of the Weasley clan around them. The cooler toned one fished a piece of parchment out her pant's pocket and held it up to Mrs. Weasley with a wide mischievous smirk on her features that rivaled Fred's in nature.

"We're here by ourselves ma'am. Our parents are busy at home with our sisters and running the breeding farms we live on." She hummed out, earning a stunned look from Arthur and Molly while the twins looked at the girls amazed. Percy on the other hand looked absolutely mortified and Charlie simply shrugged, patting their backs before smiling at their mother with a sighing passing by his lips.

"Then I guess we better make sure they get their things and that they get on the train safely, right boys?" Charlie asked, looking at the girls and the twins with a happy look in his eyes while his mother nodded in agreement. This earned an excited look from the four soon to be first years, wide smiles plastered on their faces as they began to dash back to the train's entrance where other first years were getting on with the help of Charlie. Percy hanged back a bit, but soon followed suit with the Weasley parents who made sure all of their luggage got loaded as safely as it could be onto the train before they smiled at the girls and twins.

"Now, you two behave yourselves and make sure to make the most of this year. I want letters as frequently as you can send them out and we'll see you on winter holiday." Molly hummed, kissing the twins on the head which earned small groans of their agreement as they tried to very quickly pull away from their mother who was having none of it.

"As for you two lovely young ladies, write to your parents as soon as you can and let them know what happened. They need to know it's not safe to leave you unattended when getting on the train to school from now on." She hummed, earning small nods of agreement before she let the four of them board into their car on the train and began to walk off to join Arthur with Percy and Charlie further up onto the train. It took them all a bit to find an empty compartment for them to sit in, but once they found one the four scurried into the compartment together with the cooler toned girl closing the door behind them before letting out a long sigh as she plopped down next to her cousin.

"That was a bloody beautiful act you two put on out there. Acting like you were really scared of those stupid Aurors. It was bloody brilliant." Fred complimented, his twin nodding in agreement as the two boys sat across from the girls with smiles on their lips. This earned a chuckle from the cooler toned girl, rolling her emerald eyes as she looked at them with a proud smirk on her lips.

"Oh that's nothing. You should see if my sweet cousin is really trying to show off she's scared of something. She'll go as far as shedding some fake tears. She can really sell the bit when she has to." She hummed, earning an eye roll from the warmer toned girl who was in the process of tucking her wand into her robe pocket and retrieving a book from the other pocket with a small smile on her lips. It was clear she was flattered by the compliments, but she was also clearly tired and didn't really like doing such acts when she didn't need to.

"If you weren't so quick to a fight I wouldn't have needed to have mastered such a skill, cousin. After all, then we could be proper diplomates and keep ourselves out of at least some of the trouble we get ourselves into." She huffed out, opening the cover with a smile then flipping to where a bookmark stuck out of her pages as she did so. She did seem to be the more relaxed of the two, at least from what the other was implying that is. This earned a happy chuckle from the cooler toned cousin, her smirk twisting into a happy smile as she leaned against her cousin with a smile on her lips. This made the twins smile, recognizing the bond the two of them had from the bond they themselves had which brought a chuckle out of Fred. They were a pair of partners in crime, just like these twins were, and this brought an idea to his mind.

"Well…" Fred hummed as he leaned forward and leaned on his knees which earned a curious look from George as he continued to speak.

"If you two plan on causing a lot of trouble then I think, no matter the houses were put in, we should join forces and cause trouble together. We might not look it, but we can cause quite the problem if as a duo. As a group of four though, we could all be quite the set of jokers." Fred offered, looking at the two girls with a smirk on his lips which earned a chuckle from George and the girls.

"Brilliant idea Fred. Bloody brilliant idea. If you two girls are on board, that is." George hummed out, reaching his hand out to shake with theirs as Fred did the same. The two girls looked between each other as if to ask each other if this was a good idea, thinking and mauling it over as to whether or not this was a good idea before they looked the boys over. The cooler one sat up with a sigh, looking to her cousin once more as she rested a hand on her shoulder.

"I think it's a good idea cous. I think four heads are better than two and we can have more fun with it being the four of us working on a prank or something than just the two of us doing so." She murmured out, looking at her cousin as she offered her opinion to the other who nodded her head while she rubbed her chin in thought. She had closed her eyes as she did so, thinking and mauling it over in her own mind before she opened them and smirked at her cousin.

"If you're on board then I am too. I trust your judgment and if you think this is the right way to go about having our fun then I don't see why not." She hummed out, nodding to her cousin who chuckled with a smirk pulling at both of their lips. They then turned to the boys who were smirking themselves, hoping and praying this meant they had two new teammates to the duo that was the chaos squad that the twins made. Both girls stuck their hands out, wide Cheshire cat grins on their lips, as they shook hands with the boys across from them.

"We're all in then. Let's cause lots of chaos and maybe even make a little bit of money in the process." The cooler toned cousin hummed out, earning a cheer from the other three which led to them all chuckling and laughing together at the idea as the train began to pull away from the station finally. As they pulled their hands away though, an idea struck George which caused him to very lightly smack his palm against his forehead. This earned a curious look from the other three as Fred asked the obvious question.

"What was that for George?"

"I just realized we haven't properly introduced ourselves to these lovely young witches and we're going to be working with them rather closely. Aren't we Fred?" The other pointed out, asking if they had truly introduced themselves to the girls who had their own looks of realization claiming their features alongside Fred.

"You're so right! Where are our manners George?!" Fred pointed out, shaking his head with a laugh and a smile as the other twin nodded in agreement. This earned a curious look from the girls who watched as the two twins turned to face them once more.

"I'm Fred Weasley and the stunning lad next to me is my twin, George Weasley." Fred introduced them with a smile, shaking hands with the girls once more who both chuckled at the little joke hidden within the compliment. They knew they would clearly get along with them at least on a joking front with the four of them having a similar sense of humor. The girls grabbed their hands and shook them back, the cooler toned one having a firmer grip compared to her cousin who was much more business-like in her hand shake.

"Well I'm Emerald Thunderbird and the wonderful actress next to me is my cousin and close confidant, Ruby Phoenix." The cooler toned cousin explained, now giving the boys names to go with the faces of pure chaos the two had just met. This earned a pleased smirk from the two boys, pulling their hands back with pleased looks on their features from having gotten to know each other on a full name basis.

"Well then. It's a pleasure to meet you both. We look forward to causing as much trouble as we can with you girls, after we get sorted of course." George hummed out, earning agreeing nods from his twins and the girls across from them as they all got comfortable for the long ride to the school they had ahead of them now.

"The pleasure is ours and we're just as excited to work with you as you are to work with us. As my cousin said, four heads are truly better than two and that beautiful saying goes: two heads are better than one. Surely, we will be the best group in the entire castle no matter what houses we are sorted into." Ruby hummed out with a smile, picking up her book once more as her and her cousin got comfortable across from the set of twin boys. They all knew the year would be far more interesting, now that they had formed a stunning and truly mischievous little friend group to take the castle on with.
