Chapter 38 - Bored

"Why did you dump me?!"

Tamara's voice boomed on my phone after I said that there was no relationship between us.

"I'm bored," I replied lightly.

"The fuck you mean?! After what I gave you all this time, you just dumped me so easily?! Are you jogging with me, Bryant?!"

"All the girls I've had sex with did everything you did with me. So, I don't give a damn shit." I tossed the bundle of paper from the notepad I was scribbling onto the trash next to my desk. Again I scribbled on the notes in my hand at this time while responding lightly to Tamara's chatter.

"Remember one thing, I brought your secret, Bastard!"

Hmm, she threatened me.

"Yes, I know," I replied mildly. "And remember one thing too, I carry a gun everywhere I go ready to shoot at your head, Bitch."

There was a groan of exasperation and frustration. I knew Tamara wouldn't be so stupid as to reveal our secret to the police if I threatened her. Especially if I confronted her in front of Joseph. She must have been on her knees begging for mercy.

There was no more sound because Tamara had already disconnected. I tossed my phone to the side with a pout. Let Jeff handle it his way because I'm starting to get tired of dealing with that girl.

My head moved slowly towards Kathleen's bedroom window whose blinds had not been removed, still covering the cross-section of her room. Not. Women only make me weak. I was determined to forget the girl and focus on what I was doing right now: avenge my grandfather's death and learn to deal with the corporate problems my grandfather had before he died. Don't I want to be filial to him for everything he's done to me?

At school, I did not have close friends. Apart from being the type of person who doesn't trust other people that easily, I also don't want too many strangers in my life filled with challenges and dangers. I spend more time with my friends at basecamp or doing adrenaline-generating activities.

Suddenly I thought about what Jeff said the other day, saying he was interested in Elsie and wanted to make her a collection of friends with benefits. Moreover, Elsie is a high-class bitch type. She wouldn't turn down an invitation to make love with Jeff.

I didn't mean to pay attention to that stupid girl. It was a mutual agreement that we used Cleopatra Cavern to kill and make Thomas suffer slowly. Hurt his heart. Made him sick again. And boom, die.

Just as I was about to touch the doorknob and leave the room, Jaxen came inside and closed my door slowly. One eyebrow raised questioningly at his arrival; he rarely comes to my room except to borrow my things.
