Chereads / The Perfect Vengeance / Chapter 15 - Marylou

Chapter 15 - Marylou

Regardless of the negative news, she was facing, Marylou Sanders continued to work on her big project as an actress. Apart from being involved in shooting, Marylou is also interested in being involved in writing the scripts for the films. Like this time when she sat in front of the television with a cup of coffee and a Norwegian Forest cat, Marylou chuckled softly as she watched the television program in front of her, still displaying her latest news with pillar-sized captions.

"Paparazzi," she snorted as she turned off the television. Tossed the television remote onto the sofa. "Always proclaiming people's privacy and making things up for the sake of high ratings. Can't they just leave me alone, Dang it?!"

"If you stop doing negative actions, you will be free from papz." A girl with brown hair on her back and blue eyes with green gradations emerged from her room, walking towards the piano which was located not far from where Marylou was sitting.

"Shut up, Kathleen." Marylou took out a pack of cigarettes and pulled out one. Then slid the cigarette stick to her lips while grabbing the lighter next to the ashtray, then lit it. "It's a matter of style, got it? Artists without style will not sell. Just look at my rivals out there. Lily Collins, Jennifer Lawrence, Amanda Bynes, they're trying to get me out of the entertainment world. After all…" Marylou exhaled the smoke in the air, looking at her sister with an unreadable gaze. "The paparazzi have no right to interfere in my personal affairs. If I want to do this and that, I guess it has nothing to do with them. If all they want is money selling news and photos of stars, why don't they prostitute?"

Kathleen frowned, seeming to object to her sister's tone and words just now. "But not with a bad image. Quit smoking, go to clubs, fight, everything you're doing right now. Try to build a better image. For example-"

"Like attending charity events, dressing modestly, working with charities, going to church all the time, and putting on a cute face every second?" There was a long, sarcastic laugh. Marylou rolled her eyes in disgust without stopping her laughter. "That's called hypocrisy. It's better to have a bad image but be yourself than to deceive the public with a good image but zero behavior in it. Don't patronize me anymore. Stay where you are, play music, or read the Bible. Okay?"

"You're a sinner." Kathleen snorted in annoyance, not wanting to care about her sister anymore.

Turning around, the girl began to flip through the pages of a book filled with musical notes. After sorting out a suitable song, she dropped her slender fingers on the piano keys, moving freely to make a slow and soft thumping sound.

It had only been a few minutes since Marylou had been focusing on the script she was working on while listening to her sister play the piano, she heard the sound of a horn being pressed several times outside. Marylou's concentration was automatically broken at the sound of the horn. Cursed words spilled from her mouth. Throwing the paper on the carpet, Marylou headed for the balcony of her house, cursing whoever had broken her concentration.

Her eyes rolled in annoyance when she saw the presence of a Koesenigg Agera in front of the Bryant's gate. She knew the owner of the car very well. Even though the driver doesn't live in that house, but in another house, they often get into a long feud every time the driver visits there.

"Hey, old bastard!" cried Marylou cursing the driver. She gave a long whistle that made the driver get out of the car. "Could you not press the horn a few times because you've distracted me?!"

The tall man who was standing next to the body of his car at that time just gave a disapproving smile. "Excuse me?"

"Are you deaf?!" Marylou didn't stop screaming on her balcony. "Please stop pressing the horn because you messed up my concentration!"

"I'm not deaf as long as you know that, Miss Actress with lots of scandals." The man who was none other than Joseph Bryant replied sarcastically.

"Fuck off." Before leaving the balcony, Marylou's middle fingers were raised scornfully, to which Joseph responded with a sarcastic laugh.

Marylou kept cursing as she walked back inside and sat down in her original place. Kathleen shook her head at her sister's behavior like that. There wasn't much in common between the sisters except for facial lines. While Marylou tends to be wild, violent, and hot-tempered, Kathleen is the opposite. The girl was sweet, religious, and never had a bad record.

Regardless of her sister's behavior, Kathleen refocused her concentration on one poin; pressing rows of piano keys that make a soft sound, delivering the tunes all the way to his neighbor's house, the Bryants' house.
