Until finally the figure of Elsie standing behind the glass wall startled me. There are several things that I feel seeing his presence. My heart seemed to break when I saw his arrival. The guilt welled up inside of me. I can't just sit here looking at his haggard look. There must be something he's hiding. I could see Serena's expression sitting not far from my chair. His sly smile grew as he realized Elsie was out there. Suddenly I feel bad. I stood defensively about to leave the room.
"Where are you going, Mr. Bryant?" Donovan Rolling asked diverting his attention from the projector screen.
"Excuse me for a moment," I said casually and then walked out of the meeting room.
I walked over to Elsie outside. He looked at me for a moment, then looked away, waving away without a word. I grabbed his hand making him stop.
"How can you be here at this time of night?" I asked.
He looked up, showing the hurt emotion in his clear blue eyes.
