Jace's Point of View
I stretched out my clenched palms. Taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly, I straightened my jacket. Without further ado, I pulled Elsie's hand roughly away from Jeff's apartment. My emotions have been stirred up tonight. Not just today, but since Serena's arrival yesterday afternoon at my office.
Elsie tried to pull her hand away from me, but I paid no heed. The harder he tried to pull his hand away, the tighter my grip became.
"Jace, let me go, you're gripping my hand too hard," she moaned.
In the parking lot, I just let go of his hand, pushing him roughly next to my car.
"You're so temperamental," he sighed, refusing to look me in the eye.
"Why are you here? Why didn't you tell me you were here?" I asked. "Answer me, Elisabeth!"
