I stomped my feet away from the common room, ignoring Mom's whispers telling Dad not to be so harsh on me. I climbed two stairs at once while half running. Jaxen whistled in his room which made me stop to look inside. On his bed, he was lying reading a book, looking at me through his piercing eyes.
"Luckily Joseph didn't attend the launch," he joked, grinning like a horse. "I bet five bucks he'll beat you up for saving one of Thomas' kids." Jaxen's lips pursed for a few seconds. "Well . . . I hope Jeff doesn't tell Joseph about you."
One of my eyebrows raised. "Jeff coming?" Even now I was not aware of its existence. Also Jordan and Sara. From the Bryant family, only my family, Tristan, and Carly came to the launching event. I forgot Jeff was there.
"Of course. He likes to attend important events the most. Don't forget that part." He pointed his finger at me. "Yeah… I hope Jeff or I don't open my mouth."
