Pascal patted Matthew on the shoulder and left him alone with Mr. Williams. Matthew took a deep breath after Pascal left him. He took his father's hand and sat on the small chair beside his bed.
Lily's scent, still lingering on the chair, made Matthew realize that he hadn't smelled it in a long time. Deep in his heart, Matthew couldn't deny that he had missed the scent. Matthew then took Mr. Williams. He looked at him with a small smile.
"I'm back," Matthew muttered. He then fell silent as he looked at his father, who seemed fast asleep.
"Do you want me to bite you to relieve this pain?" Matthew asked, looking at Mr. Williams.
Matthew remembered the time his father asked to change his mother in the last moments of his life. However, Matthew's efforts were in vain because his mother's heart had already stopped beating. It finally turned on Matthew, and he would have almost killed himself if Sigmund hadn't stopped him.
