Lily, Matthew, and Ryan were in the observation room. While Lily prepared the tools to take Matthew's blood sample, Ryan watched Matthew near the observation room door. Matthew was looking at his body in the mirror.
"How does it feel to wake up after sleeping for twenty years?" Ryan asked.
Matthew immediately turned his attention to Ryan. He then asked Ryan back. "Are you a Researcher here too?"
Ryan shook his head. Matthew then glanced at Lily. "You're her boyfriend?"
Ryan shook his head again.
"So, what's your relationship with this laboratory? You're not a researcher, and you're not her boyfriend either," said Matthew.
"I'm Lily's close friend," Ryan replied.
Matthew nodded his head. Then he looked back at himself in the mirror. "It seems that this time my cancer is completely cured. I feel much better than the last time I remember."
"Where is your last memory?" Ryan asked Matthew again.
"My memory feels very blurry. I only remember my room lamp at that time. What is clear, I feel I will die at that time. But it turns out that the great Researchers here are doing extraordinary things," said Matthew.
"Don't you have any regrets after sucking the blood of three people?" Ryan asked Matthew again.
"If I had known, I wouldn't have done such a thing. I did it unconsciously," replied Matthew.
"Matthew! Come here!" called Lily suddenly.
"She called me," Matthew told Ryan.
Ryan nodded his head. "I'm watching you."
Matthew laughed softly and then immediately walked over to Lily. Meanwhile, Ryan leaned against the wall of the observation room, watching the two.
Lily asked Matthew to sit on the small chair in front of her. After Matthew sat down, Lily tied a small line around Matthew's hand. Lily then took a syringe to take a sample of Matthew's blood.
Matthew looked at Lily and watched her draw her blood. "Again, I am sorry."
Lily glanced at Matthew. "This was all an accident. I won't blame anyone."
Matthew tilted his head slightly so he could look into Lily's eyes. "Did the police know about this?"
Lily shook her head. "The police only know there was an accident in this lab. I don't think Max has told the cause of the accident because he immediately locked you in the storage room."
Lily released the injection she used to draw Matthew's blood. "It's finished."
Lily then moved from in front of Matthew to transfer Matthew's blood sample.
"Why do I feel that you're deliberately not looking at me?" asked Matthew.
"That's just how you feel," said Lily curtly.
"Admit it. You're avoiding looking at me," Matthew said.
Lily took a deep breath and chose not to answer Matthew's words. However, Ryan did not stay silent and immediately spoke to Matthew.
"Don't bother Lily. Leave her alone," Ryan shouted.
Matthew answered immediately. "I'm not bothering her. I'm just saying that she keeps avoiding eye contact with me."
"How do you think she felt when she looked you in the eye? You just killed her father. Remember that," Ryan said.
In one fell swoop, Matthew suddenly pushed Ryan against the wall. He locked Ryan, staring at him intently. Matthew immediately turned to Ryan and looked at him with a look full of anger.
"I'm telling you again. I didn't mean to do that. Don't make me lose my temper, or I'll do the same to you," threatened Matthew.
Ryan glared back at Matthew. "Go ahead. Do whatever you want."
Slowly, Matthew's pupils narrowed, and his eyes almost turned completely white. Ryan swallowed hard as he watched Matthew's teeth sharpen. He held his breath as Matthew's head slowly drew closer to his neck.
"STOP!" cried Lily.
Lily's scream brought Matthew's eye color back. Matthew snorted softly, then released the lock on Ryan.
With a long sigh, Ryan held his neck. Matthew is dreadful when he transforms. It wasn't just his eyes and teeth that made Ryan shudder, but also his strength. Ryan felt like he was being crushed by a heavy wood block when Matthew's arm pressed against his neck.
Lily looked directly at Matthew and Ryan in turn. She took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly.
"Do you know how hard it is for me to endure the pain I'm feeling right now?" Lily said with a slight quiver.
Matthew and Ryan fell silent as they turned their attention in another direction.
"LOOK AT ME! I AM TALKING TO YOU BOTH!" cried Lily.
Both Matthew and Ryan slowly turned their heads to Lily. Their eyes widened when they saw Lily's face, swollen with tears.
Ryan immediately approached Lily. He was about to hug Lily, but Lily pushed him away. But Ryan still tried to approach him, and finally, he hugged Lily. "I'm sorry, Lily."
Lily immediately burst into tears in Ryan's arms. While Lily was crying in his arms, Ryan glanced scornfully at Matthew, who still hadn't moved from where he was standing.
When Matthew got up and was about to approach Lily, Ryan immediately stopped him. Ryan and Matthew stared at each other. Ryan shook his head slowly, and Matthew also gave up his intention to approach Lily.
Matthew could only stare at Lily, sobbing in Ryan's arms. There was nothing he could do because he was the cause of the tragedy that occurred in the laboratory.

Max was laughing in the control room as he spoke to the Military Chief after showing the video of what Matthew did to the storage room. "He could be the perfect resource for building the army of your dreams, General."
"I admit his strength is indeed extraordinary. However, you still have one problem," said the General talking to Max.
"It's no big deal. With a little modification, we can get a perfect result."
"But I heard Prof. Graff passed away."
"We still have his beautiful daughter, Lily. She wouldn't mind perfecting the serum," Max said.
"How can you be sure that she wants to be involved in her follow-up research?"
Max was silent for a moment. He then chuckled. "She'll want to because all of this is because her serum isn't perfect. She'll want to perfect it so Matthew can get back to normal."
"Okay then. I will send my troops in a moment. I will take all of you to the nearest military base. Make sure your research object doesn't escape," the General ordered Max.
"You leave that matter to me. But first, you have to clean up the police who came to this place," said Max.
"That's not a big deal."
"Good evening, then, General," Max said.
Professor Graff had indeed hidden his years of research from outsiders. However, Max regularly sends Professor Graff's results to a general interested in the study. Max ended the call with his general acquaintance.
At a secret facility in Alaska, the General secretly freezes the bodies of his chosen special soldiers. They died in the line of duty. He hoped they could be resurrected, given their extraordinary abilities. The General wanted to build a terrifying military might.
Therefore, he sent Max to work with Professor Graff and report the results of his research. The report that Max had just delivered gave the general a breath of fresh air. His dream of having an undefeated army was about to come true.
