Chereads / Second chance from the devil / Chapter 2 - chapter 2

Chapter 2 - chapter 2

" I have realised that I was really unfair to you and now I have called you here to patch things up between us"

Was he out of his mind or was he heavily intoxicated. How dare he talk of patching up things.

Did he have even the roughest idea of what harm he had done to Raguel.

" Don't say things that don't make sense even to you" Raguel yelled.

He was agitated than he had ever been in his life.

Lucifer destroyed the relationship they had to the point that not even God could repair it.

Lucifer was created before Raguel and was older than him by a couple of years.

Raguel had decided to follow him to the very end even before God ousted them from heaven.

Even after that Raguel was still going to follow Lucifer to the end.

But he chose to do the unthinkable to him all because of a woman he had been with for a duration that was not even close to an eighth of the time they had known each other.

He chose to ignore all that and treated him worse than an enemy.

He made him go through hell and now he had the audacity to talk about patching things up.

Did he have even the slightest idea of how much Raguel hated him. If only he had the chance...

Lucifer would now be roaming around without his head.

He smiled at the thought of it. He found the idea of the devil been headless very amusing.

" I know that you find it hard to believe but I am genuinely sorry for what I did to you " Lucifer said innocently.

' So disgusting' Raguel thought. Everytime he insulted Lucifer in his mind because he knew that the devil was always snooping around in people's head.

He would see him react whenever he insulted him. Actually he was even surprised at how the devil would be able to stand insults for so long.

Lucifer must be needing him badly then. Because he could only swallow his pride whenever he was in need of someone's help very much.

If Lucifer was planning to use him as a piece of chessman then he was terribly mistaken.

Raguel would never help Lucifer by any chance. Whether the devil killed him or not he would endure it all but never was he going to let Lucifer use him again.

" Why don't you just tell me what you need from me " Raguel he boldly.

Lucifer tilted his head to the side and a smirk formed on his face.

" I will send you to earth to bring to me two people that need to be punished " he spoke with a fatal look in his eyes.

' Who are these two people that the devil needs to punish so badly?" he thought. Wait a moment. Why would the devil need Raguel's help in punishing them.

If his enemy was by any chance more powerful than him how on Earth could Raguel be able to handle them.

Regardless of what Lucifer's plan was Raguel was certain that he was trying to protect his humongous ego.

There is nothing that the devil cared for more than his ego. He would do anything for his pride even if it meant setting the whole world on fire.

" Would you mind telling me who they are?" Raguel asked full of sarcasm.

Lucifer sensed the sarcasm in his voice but suppressed his anger.

If only he did not need him that much. Most probably he would have cut off his tongue and fed it to him. All in all he faked a smile and swallowed his pride.

" They are Lilith and Belphegor" he said softly. Shock was written all over Raguel's face when he heard those names.

' What? Isn't Lilith your wife and that Belphegor isn't he an angel?" Raguel asked surprised. Lucifer shook his head and explained everything to Raguel.

Raguel was not shocked at the end of Lucifer's narration. He could understand and see everything clearly now.

When the devil was in love he fell in love like a fool. He always lost his mind completely in the process.

According to Lucifer's story Lilith tricked him and managed to convince him that only Raguel was to blame.

After getting rid of Raguel, Lucifer had all hopes having a perfect bond with Lilith but he kept a closer eye on her.

He had even decided to forget about all what she did and live a normal life with her.

But fate seemed not to be on his side. Something he never expected happened.

An angel dared gawk on his wife. That angel was Belphegor.

He was not ousted like normal fallen angel for he came down by himself. He had come to claim Lucifer's wife.

Lucifer made the blunder of being overconfident that Lilith would never accept Belphegor only to realize that he was greatly mistaken.

Belphegor stole her from his empire and lured her to stay with him. He made her feel assured that the devil would never be able to come near her.

Lucifer was greatly hurt by that act. Despite being more mesmerizing than Belphegor Lilith still chose him.

She chose Belphegor despite all that he had done for her. He could never understand what she saw in him.

Even Raguel did not understand. As far as he knew Lucifer was the most breath taking of all creatures.

Being originally an angel Belphegor could be easily considered the most handsome man on Earth but if placed beside Lucifer he would appear ugly.

No creature could ever match to Lucifer's beauty. He was the master of sweet talk and the king of romance.

Which female would not dream of having a guy like Lucifer by her side.

If it was power then Lucifer had more than Belphegor. Infact Belphegor was no different from a fly to Lucifer.

What surprised Raguel more was the reason Belphegor was still breathing. Why hadn't Lucifer finished him off yet.

To make matters worse Belphegor began competing with the devil in all sectors.

He established his empire but unlike Lucifer he was ruling humans.

Unlike Lucifer who turned people against God, Belphegor made himself their god. He made them worship him.

He joined forces with other fallen angels who despised Lucifer for being the reason they were ousted.

He even managed to gain support from some of Lucifer's demons and made them a part of his army.

" Do you mean to tell me that you are afraid of them?" Raguel asked in a serious tone.

" No I am not. But I can't attack. He is always surrounded by humans and I am not allowed to kill humans" Lucifer replied with a frown.

So that was the case. Belphegor used Lucifer's weakness against him hence the devil could not harm him out of helplessness.

Lucifer hated human beings more than anything and he would wipe them out if he had the chance.

When God sensed that He cursed Lucifer to never lay a finger on any human. If he did not obey then he would be sent to hell immediately and no one else would be judged for their sins. This the devil was always careful about not harming any human.

What Belphegor was doing caused Lucifer to be tensed. If he kept treading in such a manner then the outcome could be terrible for both him and the devil.

Lucifer feared that he would be accused of ensnaring Belphegor and who knows what might become of him if God is angered again.

He might decide to sent the two of them to hell immediately or He might do something much worse.

The only thing that ever frightened Lucifer was his creators wrath for it was the only thing capable of wiping out his existence.

From all angles the devil was going to loose unless he came up with a strong plan. His best card was Raguel.

" How sure are you that I am going to give you a hand?" Raguel asked in a mocking tone.

" I know you will" Lucifer said simply. Raguel could not believe it. He was shocked by how confident the devil was.

He could not tell if Lucifer had something in mind or if he was just being overconfident. 'Why is he so sure that I will join him?'

" Who knows what will happen. Belphegor might convince me to do otherwise" he said sarcastically.

Lucifer got hold of his throat and penetrated his claws into Raguel's skin. The pain was sharp and immense but Raguel did not make a sound.

" Don't you dare contemplate betraying me" he warned. He let go of his throat afterwards.

A wide smile formed across Raguel's face. He was enjoying a lot seeing Lucifer so stressed out.

' Too bad he can't get an heart attack ' he thought. It wouldn't hurt trying to rise his blood pressure anyway.

" I am not sure. I might get compelled to do so" Raguel said teasingly.

Raguel was certain that Lucifer would promise him heaven and Earth just to convince him.

After all the devil was quite talented with bargaining skills. All that was required was a little speech from him and boom he strikes a business deal.

" I can offer you a deal of a lifetime if you choose to follow me" Lucifer said boldly.

" What are you willing to offer?" Raguel asked with a smirk. He was already getting nervous trying to predict what the devil had to offer.

" I will let you free. I will let you live your life as you please far away from my world. I will relieve you of your obligations to me. I will never bother you or interfere with your life ever" he listed.

Raguel wished to doubt him but he could not help but smile thinking of all those promises.

Was Lucifer genuine when he said he would let him free. Was he really going to relieve him of being the devil's puppet.

" What will happen if by any chance I go against you" Raguel inquired.

Lucifer smiled coldly . " As long as there is still darkness in your life I can always pull you back.

Belphegor and his likes lack the devil's darkness in their lives. It is only that what is keeping them safe from me.

As for you I can always pull you to myself" he explained.

Raguel was struck by the realisation that Lucifer was not being over confident after all. He had a guarantee that Raguel would not betray him.

" I won't help you at all" he said boldly. Lucifer simply stared at him coldly then let out a giggle.

" Then you leave me with no other option but to send you back to my hell pit"
