Chapter 1 - Chapter 1-The Kidnapping

Ares was a good child and was doing very well in school. He had short green hair and a scar on his right eye. For his whole life, his parents treated him horribly and sometimes beat him. The only person who was nice to him was his brother, Kuzan, they always played baseball and volleyball together. Kuzan was always the more popular brother in school, he always had people surrounding him. With his long blond hair, and blue eyes, there was no way that he would get bullied like Ares did. Ares thought that what his parents did to him and his brother was normal. This was until he was sent to school at the age of 5 and saw kids with loving parents, greeting them with hugs and kisses. Ares was shocked at the sight. He slowly walked home, thinking why are my parents doing this? Do they even love me? When he arrived home, he saw a long trail of blood.

The trail of blood went all the way up his stairs, into his bedroom where he saw a note, written in blood, the note said "I've kidnapped your brother, find me and kill me in 6 months or he dies". Ares thought out loud, Who would do this? Why would they do this? He was the only person who loved me… "he isn't the kind of person to make enemies with people." Why? Why? Why? were the only words that circled around Ares' head.

Ares had multiple sleepless nights, his parents carried on beating him, he turned pale and scrawny with hunger. His parents fully knew that his brother got kidnapped but they didn't care either, all they did was watch TV and eat snacks all day. One day, Ares decided to get up and do something about his missing brother.

At night, he snuck some food into his room. His parents were fast asleep, so he was able to feast in peace he ate until his heart's content, all night, he couldn't think of anyone else except for his brother. In the morning he didn't say anything to his parents but just snuck out of the house with no remorse. He set out on a journey. To find his lost brother.

The first place that Ares searched was the volleyball court as he entered, he heard echoes of laughter and he saw memories of him and his brother playing volleyball. After searching everywhere, he reluctantly gave up. Ares thought that he would never see his brother again. He decided to stop searching as even if he found his brother, he would ultimately be too weak to rescue him. Whilst strolling through the park, Ares was not able to concentrate properly as he didn't have any hope of finding his brother. He finally arrived at a leaflet which said "BOOK KENDO CLASSES FOR PEOPLE UNDER 13,TRAINING IS FREE" Ares' eyes lit up with excitement.

He sprinted to the address, when he arrived there, he was out of breath and he gasped for air. He saw a huge building with a straw rooftop and lots of tinted windows. He knocked on the door and the person who opened it was none other but his grandpa.

Ares was shocked at the sight as there were rumours that he died from an overdose on drugs. "Oh my lord in heaven, is that really you, my son?" his grandpa said, in shock. Ares was frozen in shock at the sight of his grey-haired, withered grandpa. "g-g-grandad w-where have you been, all this time?" Ares uttered. "I've been starting a kendo class here, it's been going pretty well so far, well what are you doing outside, it's freezing, come inside." His grandad stated.

Ares entered the building and saw multiple children striking wooden logs with wooden swords. He asked his grandpa for permission to try and strike a wooden log. Ares was given permission and struck the log with all of his force. He fell to the ground, after missing the wooden log completely. "Well we do have some work to do" Ares' Grandpa said, in a joking manner.

Firstly, Ares was taught how to wield a sword properly, he was taught to hold the sword with two hands and to have the top edge of the sword facing up and the sharp edge of the sword facing away from him.

Ares was then taught how to execute a perfect block, he was taught to use the edge of the sword to collide with his opponent's sword. The swords clashing caused sparks to fly everywhere, the swords bonded together, causing them to become heavily damaged and unusable. "You've got a strong swing" Ares' Grandpa mentioned.

He was next taught how to swiftly move within his heavy armour, Ares was sluggish and stiff in the armour he was thinking of giving up. This was until his Grandpa told him "you shouldn't try this heavy so early, take these ankle and wrist bracelets, go and change out of that heavy armour" Ares slowly walked out of the main building and into the changing room.

After putting on his ankle and wrist bracelets, he walked back into the main building and saw his grandpa standing and waiting for him. "See, you're already faster than before." Ares' Grandpa stated. Ares was given a task to run three laps around the building to increase stamina and speed. He was ready to stop by the 2'nd lap but he was determined to find his brother. After the 3'rd lap, he was already fatigued and was panting like a dog.

After he took off the ankle and wrist bracelets, he moved even quicker, his agility and stamina increased immensely, causing him to be able to swing his sword at light speeds. Ares swung his sword at the wooden log another time but this time he sliced the log in half. Ares thought that he was ready to rescue his brother until his grandpa told him "This is just the beginning, soon you'll be able to slice the world in half, haha...".
