Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Transmigration gone wrong

"Ugg…"

If dying like a pathetic loser was not enough, I woke up with an equally terrible headache. The world was spinning, and for a couple of seconds, I couldn't see clearly if my right hand had developed five extra fingers or not.

Speaking of hand, why does it seem like the hand of 11 years old boy? It was soft but dry. Looking closely, it also had some cuts and bruises too.

I also felt something wet in my eyes. I touched my eyelashes with my right hand and rubbed them.

"Tears?"

Wet and salty, they were tears. I didn't know when and why, but I was crying for some reason right now.

It was then I saw a dagger in my other hand. It was crude but sharp. People living in the woods might have crafted it, but crafting skills were better than most knives manufactured in factories.

How can I appraise this weapon? Because I had served in US Special Forces for years. Like the Japanese Military, US soldiers are taught how to fight in close combat by using daggers, katana, or any blade.

As such, I naturally can see that the dagger was made with good crafting skills, excluding little to no technology.

"Am I in hell?"

That was the only possible conclusion that I could arrive at. I was far from a 'good person' in my past life, so this must be hell, considering how I was suffering from this migraine headache for almost 3 minutes.

Suddenly, I had an urge to throw up. So I lifted my head somehow and turned my face in the direction of the ground.

I didn't know where I was since it was a dark and closed chamber and beneath me was soft soil covered with dried leaves, but I let myself lighten myself after throwing all the rainbow fluids.

"Huff* huff*" I then fell on a different place on my back, and while panting, I muttered, "Or I might be reincarnated."

With tears in my eyes, a skull-shattering migraine headache, and a body of 11 years old with glimpses of new memories entering my sight, I came to a different conclusion I was reincarnated, or better term might be, transmigrated to this 11-year-old boy's body.

Oh god, just why? Why do you have to let me live another life when I did shit in my previous one? Once a loser will always be a loser, no matter how many chances were given.

Sigh, no use in crying over spilled milk.

For now, I had to get away from where I was lying.

Touching the ceiling of this dark chamber, it was evident that I was under a tree with a hollow section created by its root. I could also see the faint red light of sunset from the opening.

Poking my head up, I realized I was in the woods with neck-breaking tall trees in the middle of dusk. I was in awe of the beautiful scenery.

Even in my previous life, I had visited several types of forest and jungle, but not once did I ever see this kind of place. The trees were tall, with purple patterns and branches connected. It was like a natural roof formed by nature. The light was red or pink, falling on the after filtering between the brownish leaves.

If I were a photographer, I would have dedicated my life to living in this place, but I had to run from here for now.

Looking back at where my predecessor came from, I could smell a faint burn and look at the rising dark smoke.

Without my knowing, I narrowed my eyes and gritted my teeth. Rage and anger took over, and I felt a composite desire to kill people.

I even began to take steps toward the place where my predecessor came from while I was thinking about my next move.

Like a dead animal moving on its instincts, my body was also in a similar position, even though my brain was not commanding the body.

"Get a hold of yourself!" I stopped and clapped my cheeks a couple of times to wake up from this hypnosis.

It was bizarre, but my body's actions might be justified by the pieces of tragic memory I had received when I transmigrated into this body.

"I saw a brat running towards the woods!"

"Catch him now! We can't let anyone live from that village!"

As you can see, some people wanted to kill me for a reason I had yet to know. I have to give credit to the vision of this body as I could see the silhouettes of people dressed like knights of the medieval era.

They were carrying swords and crossbows. From my view, one was dressed in proper armor colored in black and was also holding a blade of the same color while the other two, talking with the man in black, only had their arms and head covered and protected with metal armor.

From their dressing, it was evident that I was in some European medieval era, which is shitty enough, and also some people were looking for my head as I could see one of the knights carrying severed heads of people by their hair.

Those heads must be trophies or evidence to show their superiors that they have burned down my village.

Wow, just wow. I just had to become Uchiha and run for my life. If that was not enough, I had to be in the body of 11 year old, and my body was acting like a freaking avenger to kill those knights.

My life was not of a saint, so it was still a blessing considering I was not reborn as a test subject in some shady place. If I were born as a child of some orphanage that is secretly a slaughterhouse, I would have killed myself instantly.

No boy, I'm not gonna live a life where I have to live like that and spam my tragic past on villains to make them sound like a certain ninja in an orange tracksuit.

Anyway, since the situation wasn't dire, I still had a chance to run away.

I was barefoot, which was an advantage and disadvantage at the same time.

It will be better if I run barefoot since, from my pieces of memories, people here wear wooden sandals. Talk about one of my childhood samurai shows.

But the downside will be a possible injury. Running barefoot will most likely harm my foot which I couldn't effort at cost. I had no idea where I would be going or how long it will take to reach the subsequent human settlement.

"If we start our search now, we might be able to find that brat! Go and search for him!"

"Yes, sir!"

Hearing their call, I started to run. I won't need to worry about my future injuries if there was no head on my torso, do I?

While running, I made sure to run in dry places like wide roots of trees expanded on the surface, and I also had to use the ball of my feet or sole to make as less noise as possible.

As someone who had operated in US Special Forces, knowing such trivial things was given. Now that I was in this situation, I felt grateful for my superiors, who trained me hard. I Couldn't believe I was planning to assassinate them after being kicked out of the army.

While running for my life, I also tore the sleeves of my shirt and wrapped them around my feet. In these situations, carelessness is your bigger enemy than your actual enemy.

My body was also aching to turn back and face those knights in armor, which was another problem. But thanks to my calm thinking, it was now the least of my worries.

After like 15 minutes of continuous running, I stopped.

"Huff* huff*."

I was tired and thirsty. The muscles of my feet were vibrating with pain. I knew that if I ran even a little more, I would consume my remaining energy to look for the next direction or search for food and water.

While this body did act like a typical angry boy, it was a sturdy body, and thanks to this incredible life force, I not only covered 150 meters without a spec of rest but also could stand from the pain of torn muscle and fatigue.

It was a plus point for someone like me who had to survive. This body was also why I hadn't given up on staying alive. As I said before, I am not a person with a strong will to live. If I can get reincarnated once, I don't mind trying for next time.

Well, for now, I will live with this one.

"…Where am I…?"

I had no idea where the hell I was. Sun could barely be seen, and it was getting dark, but the moon of this world or light of today's night was enough for me to see myself around.

It was then I started hearing faint footsteps that soon turned clear.

!!!

As I turned around, I was hit by a rock-shattering kick that sent me almost flying before crashing into a nearby tree.

Cough* Cough*

I knew I was done for when I saw drops of blood coming out with coughs.

"Argg! Huff* Who?!" I groaned with pain and lifted my head to search for that sonofabitch with a heavy breath.

And just then, I saw the man in dark armor standing right in front of me with moonlight glittering on his face and a wicked smile under his helmet.

"Sup, runt. Wanna play?!"

I widened my eyes and gritted my teeth. Rage started to consume me even though I could barely stand. Veins began popping out all around my forehead and arms as I clenched my hands.

New feelings, burning with revenge, started to enter my chest.

Why wouldn't I get angry since the person in front of me was that knight I saw before and the same person who burned my parents alive right in front of me!!
