Chapter 18 - 0.17 A Flashy Princess

Jared watched as she walked into the cafe with her high heels ringing bells all over the cozy coffee shop.

He nearly choked on his spit as he zoomed in to see her outfit.

The Frosty Princess had chosen a rather flashy attire for a simple lunch in a nearby cafe.

Ariana had stepped out of her office suit and changed into a white straight gown that stopped above her knees as she topped it off with a very furry white jacket that had long fuzzy sleeves.

The white ankle boots she wore reached up to her knees as her slender legs were covered from the cold outside. She finished the look off with her curly blonde locks drizzling down her back, added with a big pair of sunglasses.

Everyone's attention couldn't be taken away from the white flashy Princess who had stepped into the building looking like she had just run out of a runway.

Jared didn't know whether to laugh at her exaggeration or whether to be pleased with the fact that she had put so much thought into her outfit for just a simple date.

By the time Ariana had sashayed her way down to meet Jared, his face was covered with mirth.

"Miss Ariana," he greeted amicably.

"Jerry," she used a perfectly manicured finger to push down her shades as she displayed her beautiful hazel eyes while staring at him.

"I should say, you look-" Jared was lost for words.

"Ravishing? Stunning? Glamorous?" she flipped her bouncy blonde locks.

"Flashy would be the word but never mind," Jared mumbled under his breath discreetly.

Ariana pushed the chair back as she sat across him while pulling the shades off her face and crossing her long legs on top of each other.

"So Jerry, how have you been?" She asked.

"Fine, I've been fine, although last night left quite a mark," Jared sighed with a gentle smile.

"I agree. And how's your little girlfriend doing?" Ariana asked.

"She's not my girlfriend-"

"She's a girl and judging from last night, you looked like friends, or am I wrong?" Ariana raised an eyebrow.

"Well, technically, you are. I only met her yesterday due to my friend's being persistent. It was to just ensure the closure of a business deal, nothing more," Jared explained.

"I see, so a blind date in exchange for a business deal, huh? Nice strategy, Antiano," Ariana nodded her head as she leaned back a little.

"Anyway, how are you doing? I hope last night didn't wear you out too much," Jared asked in concern.

"Oh, please, it was just a little run. I might be close to death but trust me, my liver is as strong as a bull's," Ariana patted her stomach and Jared laughed.

"What would you like to order?" He asked.

"Hmm, I want two slices of cheesecake, two pieces of chocolate croissant, a muffin, and a cup of strawberry smoothie," Ariana said in a heartbeat.

"What an appetite," Jared mused as he raised his hand to call the waiter to place the order.

After a few minutes, the waitress brought the order and left with a kind smile.

"By the way, where are you coming from?" Jared asked as he took a sip from his coffee.

"What do you mean by that?" Ariana frowned as she took a bite from the croissant.

"You seem to be very heavily dressed if I should say," Jared let out.

"I'm coming from work," Ariana answered.

"You dress like this at work...?" Jared furrowed.

"Uh, sometimes," Ariana shrugged.

Never. I never dress like this for work. I have no idea why I went overboard just because of you!

Ariana rang in her head.

"And also, how do you manage to handle your work in your condition?" Jared asked and Ariana paused.

"I'm not paralyzed. I can move my limbs perfectly," she answered, slightly irritated.

"I know, but still, don't you think you should try to tone it down a bit and focus more on your health? Don't you have someone who can help you out or-"

"Definitely, why don't I just sell my companies to the Antianos and retire while I wilt in chemotherapy?" Ariana cut off sharply.

"No, I didn't mean-"

"Of course, you didn't. I mean, I have no idea why you seem to be so interested in my work, Antiano? I am perfectly fine but you don't seem to want to get that in your head, do you?" She gritted as her temper seemed to rise.

"I was just saying-"

"You know what? I'm done here, have a nice day, Antiano," Ariana stepped up and dropped a few dollars on the table before she turned to leave.

"What? Hey, hey, Miss Ariana!" Jared called as he got up from his chair to run after her.

Ariana slammed the door shut as she didn't spare him a glance.

"Wait, I'm sorry if you were offended," He stepped out of the cafe.

"Wait!" he grabbed her wrist and held her back.

"What do you want, Jerry? Aren't you scared that your hand might put me in a coma since I'm so weak?!" She snapped as her blonde locks came over her face.

"I don't get why you're so upset, I was just concerned," Jared frowned.

"I don't need your concern or pity. I hate when people treat me like I am a plate of glass just because of what I have. I'm not dumb nor unable to use my limbs, so cut the pity act and treat me just like everyone else!" Ariana hissed.

"Okay, okay, I'm sorry, calm down, will you?"Jared sighed and Ariana rolled her eyes.

" I haven't even told you why I wanted us to meet and you're already at my neck," He shook his head at her temper.

"What do you want, Jerry?" Ariana crossed her arms and looked up at him.

"I-I want to join you on your bucket list thing," he confessed.
